As I have said before, I would like bikes or TT2 to be included in GT5 as DLC.
As an example GT5 could have from the main screen, TT career mode, GT5 carer mode as well as arcade modes for both all launchable from the GT5 disc.
I don’t need to have competitions where bikes compete against cars in any of the career modes as both should be separate but within arcade and via online private lobby mode the option to customise my own races where if I wish I could have cars competing with bikes.
If we are to be realistic, looking at the nurburgring in real life, cars have for many years shared track space with bikes, and the thought of a Ducati 1198R while chasing down an Enzo Ferrari is just pure bliss. Also to race a bike or car chost lap would be great.
TT2 will come either way, but for somebody desperate for TT2 like I am, I don't want to wait several years for this game, it’s just torture. I would prefer after GT5 release, for bikes and competitions via TT mode to perhaps be added ad hoc.
In essence GT5 is the same as a future TT, only difference is the vehicles with the tracks being more or less the same, just like TT1 and GT4 give and take. To me it makes sense to just have the one game, as tracks are all there, just add the bikes should you wish.
People that are either not interested in bikes all together don’t have to download any content, people that just want a TT2, will if they have it there way, have to wait minimum 2 years, when instead they can have bikes and bike specific races added via DLC. If bikes come as DLC, then it will take time to have a complete TT2 in GT5 but for me that is not a problem.
If people are worried that bike DLC will take away attention from GT5 car DLC, then I think you are wrong. If no bike DLC finds its way to GT5, then a team will still be developing TT2, while a team will still be concentrating on GT5 car DLC, so either way TT2 gets developed regardless if we get it in stages via DLC or not.
I think you should all welcome the addition of bikes; it’s just a part of GT5 evolution, which is a wheeled motorsports universe IMO.
Although bikes do not traditionally compete with cars on track, the great things about games are that within their digital worlds, anything is possible. Of course I would never want things to get silly, by having speedboats and planes, within reason, and bikes share the roads with cars as well as the Nurburgring and share many similarities from an engineering standpoint.
GT5 will allow us to achieve things we are not likely to see in the real world, like Nascar vs WRC on a Rally track should you wish, or even a Le Man's car chasing an F1 car through the nurburgring forest. This is what is great, being able to creat your own cars or use specific race cars, and compete and compare them, for me to do this with bikes in addition to everything else is something I would love. Ultimately a car is faster than a bike around a track, if we compare open wheeled and some production series, but road car vs road bike is close, and the comparrison possibilities are endless and have always been in the GT series, and that freedom that the GT series has allowed for is what set the game apart from many games and has always been the GT moto from day 1. Bikes for me are just another addtion and way to make the world of motorsport that I love that more assesible via GT5.
I ride a motorbike, and I have missbehaved on the road, and have had a few duals with cars, my only option to do this legally is either at the Ring, or Via GT5
Anyway, please guys, I want a bike experience on the PS3 to PD's standards, and waiting for my car experience has been painful enough, and is still hurting as we are still wating for GT5, I dont want to wait 2-5 years for 200-300 premium motorbikes, when I can have 10-15 every once in a while and blast them to my hearts content.
I will leave you with some vids...
