Motorcycles in GT6?

I'll say it again:

Tourist Trophy 2!!!

While it would be nice to drive cars and bikes on the same track, I still feel that GT should remain only about cars, bikes should remain in TT...

And talking about bikes, I cannot resist posting this video :dopey:

Right on!

Don't you guys think PD already has enough on their hands with GT alone, to be focusing on two different franchises? Don't forget GT portables either. Unless PD expands, or you want TT2 to be a copy and paste version of GT6 (like TT did with GT4), then sure it's doable.

Tell me, how unique can TT2 be from GT6? Unique bike tracks? Now, how long do tracks take to recreate again? Just imagine how much resources would be taken away from GT.

I hear arguments that having bikes might take way resources from physics, sound, or whatever. Is that going to get any better if it was in a whole separate game?

I would be happy with hashed version of the original TT with GT5 tracks. As long as it has Online then I will have all of the fun I need.

If bikes were to be included, please don't let it be all crotch-rockets and MotoGP type bikes. If they're going to model bikes, let's add some classics (see an 1930's Indian), and some good old solid Harley Davidsons from the 80s and 90s(just to name a few). I don't want to choose just from a BMW, Ducati, and Suzuki types that all feel the same in the game.

This is PD, so chances are you'll get a hundred versions of some Japanese bike.

I could care less if they copy and pasted gt5 and turned it into TT 2. As long as i can ride my r6 around laguna seca and have it actually feel like im riding it in real life, then i dont care. I would pay $200+ for TT 2 and would buy it over anything lol.

Try the original Tourist Trophy and be amazed with the variety on offer (within a very limited selection), the first major bike game which included road bikes and not just 'crotch-rockets'.
Okay, most were Japanese but there were some classics as well, and no it didn't include Harleys (although there were a few V-twin cruiser type bikes) but there were the Harley-engined Buells and also things like dirt bikes (but strangely enough no dirt tracks) and scooters.
And the only thing which could be called a MotoGP bike perhaps was the '61 Honda RC162.

Unfortunately the normal road bikes in Tourist Trophy (which in many cases would be reasonably quick and good fun in real life) were/are really strangled by the throttle nanny and assistance (perhaps by the physics themselves too).

I'm talking about bikes like the xjr1300 (and other large capacity flat barred street bikes, Triumph Speed triple etc) Honda Hornet, anything with a spot light on the front, loads.

You crack the throttle open from low speed and the engine doesn't respond.
You can be on full lean and abuse the throttle with no consequences except eventually a silly spinning of the tyre with no loss of stability, or even grip, followed by a slow motion rotation if you hold it open long enough.

You can't enjoy riding these bikes because at the speeds where such bikes irl are very responsive and really very fast indeed, they are strangled to death.

Tourist trophy physics weren't good.

If they make a sequel I really hope they don't do this dumbed down thing again.

I'd say no to the bike idea after thinking about it however, there are some there wheeled rides with a car steering wheel and extremely different handling dynamics that may be interesting to add..

Well I may not want to drive the last one so much :-)

I want TT2 now more than GT6.I'd love to see sidecar racing on the Isle Of Mann TT circuit or any race track for that matter.Could include Motorcross, Supermoto racing etc. This has to be included in TT2.With real-time physics, real-time weather etc plus got to get the engine music together.

Yeah, the only bummer is that there is no tt2 planned.

Motorcycles, bring them on. Anyone else with me? All the car only diehard snobs can chime in too, like I have a choice anyway.

i know alot of peoplw who would like to see that happen. But whats the chance of pd doing that any time soon. that would be a 0%

Bikes and Cars in one sim? NEVER. The AI and Players would ram bikes ALL the time. And yet another of my topics which becomes negative.

After saying no they shouldn't
now I say yes they should.

Because I think GT6 will be a sligtly improved GT5. I don't expect any livery editor, event editor or any of all those cool stuff whatsoever. So, at least add something new to the game like motorbikes.

Yeah! And why shouldn't cars be in a bike game! :D

That's a fair comment, even though I sense a little sarcasm in there :).

If Tourist Trophy was at its 5th iteration, approaching number 6, and with no other half decent car game on the ps3 console, I'd be asking for the inclusion of cars!! Especially if they had done a decent job of cars on the ps2 previously. Why not?

In my opinion yes just dont allow bikes and cars to enter the same race.. They should just do what they did with the ferrar f1 cars.. Problem solved right there you dont wanna race bikes you dont have to.. Leave it to the people that want it..

That is a contender for worst feature in a video game ever (well, except that it was beyond PD's power for the F1 cars).

They should never consider adding that ever again. There is no problem in the first place. If you don't want to race cars vs bikes, then select only cars for car races and only bikes for bike races. It's that simple.

That way, we avoid pointless restrictions that only waste dev time and limit end user fun.

Or simply an option for either car vs car/bike vs bike/car vs bike as that would still allow to race car versus bike for those who want to.
And why not? What if some just want to see how a certain bike compares to a certain car? Just for the sake of fun/curiosity/whatever.

Thing is, it isn't simply going to be only Veyron vs Hayabusa like some make it out to be but TT had as much variety in types of bikes as GT has in cars.
Scooter vs Kei car anyone? Dirtbike against Kubelwagen?
Heck, I'm afraid car versus bike could actually be fun.....

Yes, and although the purist in me says "no", the kid in me agrees that it would be fun..... .... This sort of thing is made for video games, really. It will never be a recognised form of motor racing. But if that's the case because it's too dangerous, then a video game is the perfect way to experience it.

It all depends on how it is handled and presented in the game, really. Anyway, as I said before, the only thing I really care about concerning bikes is that they don't dumb down the physics and handling again. If they get the riding experience spot on, they can do what they like with the rest of the game, just let me on the track.

And Fanatec sets to work on some force feedback handlebars...

I say anything implemented into a game which causes me to smile more, or adds replayability is a win.

Oh come on not adding bikes in GT makes zero sense, because:

1- GT will never ever be Forza Motorsport, Assetto Corsa or pCars. If you want cool liveries, career modes, event editors livery editors etc.. do not expect it from GT6 period.

2- Trackday at the Nordschleife cars + bikes would be interesting like in real life.

3- Do not let people racing cars and bikes together. In this way you "preserve" the experience. Cars lovers won't be affected. Bikes lovers can realize their dreams or sort of. Bored players can make something new. It's a win win for everybody.

4- No other racing games in the market will have cars and bikes toghether. This could be a selling point, because trying to compete with Forza on the Customisation when the developer is PD is just a silly idea.

A point that is missed quite often by those making sarcastic comments about bikes in a game that up til this point has been devoted to cars. Adaptation, change, and beating your competition to it will make you legendary.

What about if PD or another dev made a touring simulator for bikes ?.This can include infamous & famous roads, like route 66, London to Brighton ( A23 ) & the Cat & Fiddle road etc.Could have loads of trail bikes, sports tourers, Harleys and the like.

I always liked Tourist Trophy, so bring it on if you will, PD. I played TT again a few months ago, and it was still as fun and difficult as it was for me inititally. I ried in real life, so I am always happy with a riding sim. It probably helps that my bike is in there, both stock and in race form too.
