For those of you in the USA who pre-ordered from newegg.com at a great deal of $48 shipped, well I've got news for you. I just spoke with customer service asking of when my GT5 will ship and they told me that orders will start to process the day of the release date & I will not be receiving on the release day :odd:...:(...:irked:...:mad:...:banghead:

Looks like I'll be going to Wal Mart 24 hour store and buying it at midnight and returning the pre-ordered copy

Yeah don't order from Newegg esp like GT5 where you want it on the release date. They rarely ship early. Order from Amazon with release date shipping or go to your local shops like Gamestop. Though I doubt Wally will have it on release date.

Yes, i emailed them and they gave a link to show it still applies. Codes emailed on day of release if you pre-ordered.

And that also applies if you pre-order now, or only if you pre-ordered before 02/11 (which was the day they removed the text about the stealth cars)?

posted today - 19th November, talks about ShopTos shipping policy and includes this :

"The online store, which previously told IncGamers it has seen pre-orders ‘go through the roof’, said today: “Our first consignment of Gran Turismo 5 will be arriving at our warehouse Saturday morning”.

So, if that is right, they aren't getting any stock deliverd until Saturday :/

Not that big a deal, their post normally turns up the next day. Mine is recorded First Class and the posties are actually working this week, still think Tues/Weds, I'm happy with either.

Also, don't they give you a £3 credit on your account if you don't get it on release day?
 
I'm guessing shopto are going to be posting on Monday, so we will receive on Tuesday.

My small local gameshop where ive pre-ordered and paid says definately tuesday with a small chance of monday so im more than happy with that ....
 
That article about Shop to is incorrect. If you go to the Shop to website and click on GT5 its says "In stock processing Pre-orders".

Im eagerly keeping an eye on my bank balance!

I did pre-order from play.com until I recently had to wait 9 days for my DVDs to arrive. Not saying the same will happen to you because maybe they went sent 2nd class. However I cancelled because I wanted the security of my copy being sent via recorded delivery from Shop to. Shame because I miss out on the CE.

Have never had an issue with play.com personally, games always arrive the day before so far.

I would go with shopto but as I am not living at home at the moment as I am a student my delivery address is defferent from my billing address and as such can't get it delivered here.

Im sure you will have no problems because every pre-ordered game i've had from play.com has arrived a day early. My problem is with my post and my sorting office even featured on TV once! I recently re-joined Love Film and my first Blu ray disc went missing!

I dont have enough to pay it now though LOL. That would be a horrible feeling...

Im just wondering but don't retailers such as Shop to process orders by when they were pre-ordered. So maybe those who pre-ordered before the release date was announced may even have their copies posted tomorrow because they were first in the queue.

Wishful thinking I know. Chances of getting any sleep on Monday night is 0%. I feel like a child on xmas eve!

One of the emails said the game would be released to the courier to await delivery on release day. Surely if I ring Parcel Farce and ask them to deliver straight away, they would?

I imagine it follows the same protocol as an arranged delivery i.e. A date requested by the receiver to ensure they will be in, and wont have a specific order to 'not be delivered until release day' .

Hopefully I'm right about this. Does anyone work for PF or Royal Mail or has anyone tried the same thing before?
 
im picking up my right now (working in a video game store for 5 years has its perks) ive been a fan of GT since I was a kid, so this is a huge day for me

just one question, im worried about installing it early, any foreseeable problems if i install early?

I know people have installed games early on the PS3 and ive heard of no problems arising from that

So what about 24hr stores like Walmart?.

Even if they dont do a midnight launch per se, will the game be available as of 12:00am??. Or do you think they will have special instructions not to sell any?? Technically it will be the 24th then.

I wonder if they will have it stocked before and you can buy it earlier in the evening?.

This is exactly what I should have done instead of pre-ordering (and paying in full) from GameStop. I would much rather have it at midnight than at 10AM. And then there's the 40 minute install. Oh glory, I wish I could just get this game early.

I've pre-ordered from play as well and i'm curious about when you made your pre-order to see if play are processing there orders in the order they were made, i made mine on the 17th September and as of 7pm its status is still packing.

Ok that was the email. Now I know from experience that you dont have to have the tracking number when you ring Parcel Farce, you can give them the delivery name and address and they can find it(If they say you cant, kick off and ask to speak to a manager).

I'll ring them tomorrow and see what they know.

Also, does anyone know if an order from Game online would come from a distribution hub or my local store?
