Oh...wait it was being repaved? :odd: Well I guess that explains it.

You didn't hear? They've been saying it was going to get repaved. There's even been a promo running since may that specifically mentions the new surface.

Earlier in the broadcast of the Quaker State 400 was a NASCAR Heat Evolution thing discussing downforce and the aero package used at Kentucky. This still is a pretty cool looking game, though I probably wouldn't play it. NASCAR 07 for the PS2 remains the only console NASCAR game I have.

Honestly the 2 best games were Thunder 03 and 07 for me, if the team management parts of those 2 could combine then that would have made the best game of them all. Simulation value on the other hand 07 is crap, I remember doing either a half or full length race at Atlanta and about 10 laps in I realized I could go full throttle for the whole lap and did so for every single other lap no matter how badly the tires wore out. That was very likely the last time I played that game, and rightfully so I believe.

Back on topic, I have to wonder if the simulation mode has proper sound and not D2D sounds. Wouldn't that be an interesting way to get people more into sims. Want realistic sounds? Drive realistic cars.

I was hoping 07 would be better than 06, but I was sorely disappointed...to put it lightly. I don't recall there being anything new aside from paint schemes that was worth anything. In honesty, I think it was worse in almost every aspect. Laggy, sluggish when it wasn't lagging, wasn't this the one that you could jump to Cup level because Kenny Wallace didn't want to test the car?

Here's my hierarchy of just the EA's: 2003 and 2004 are interchangeable depending on how you prefer the physics and difficulty, 2005, 2006, 2002, 2007, 2001, 2000, 1999, 1998, 2008 and PS2 2009, PS3 2009. Seriously, 🤬 the by-race contracts in those last few.

Ohh, you evil, evil man. Can you imagine the fury that would evoke? I love it.

I do wish DMR could of brought ovrr some guys that worked on the EA NASCAR games along with monster games. I think if they would of done that we would of been getting a much much better game then what we're getting in September. Think about it. EA and monster games combining to make a NASCAR game. The only guy they got from EA is Ed Martin.

I thought Ed Martin was originally from Papyrus?

When I mentioned my NASCAR gaming experience, the only other NASCAR experience I've had in games were with "NASCAR Racing" and "NASCAR Racing 1999 Edition." I've had somewhat a go at "NASCAR Racing 2003 Season," but I haven't really touched that game in a while or made any car liveries or possible tracks. I even played the "NASCAR Arcade" game by EA Sports and SEGA. I also have rented NASCAR 08 and (maybe) NASCAR 09 also on the console front. So I've NEVER played any NASCAR Heat game prior to this coming of NASCAR Heat Evolution. NASCAR Heat Evolution would be my first game in the NASCAR Heat series if I were to own and play it.

I just wanted to share my NASCAR gaming experience with you all.

Are you seriously getting worked up over that? Honestly, I just want a working next-gen NASCAR game first that isn't a POS in physics (09,2011-2015), isn't glitchy to hell and actually has AI that isn't impossible or hardly a challenge. All the fluffy, unimportant stuff can wait.

Considering I've been wanting to put DtD or Thunder 03/04 in the PS3 for about three weeks now...despite the fact my PS3 doesn't play PS2 games, I concur with the above. That said, with what we've seen I'm keeping the shovel clean.

I want to play 03 again so badly. :( I played the heck outta it back in the day, still have it. Need to get the PS2 hooked back up.

Edit: I remember the Pontiac and Dodge so much, loved the Pontiac though. I always wanted '04 because of the even cooler Pontiac, but never got around to getting it oddly. Dem lines...I miss Pontiac. ;_;

Not getting worked up about it but god damn. Thing's just keep adding up. Yes I know i want AI, Career, damage and online to be good. Of course. But it's sad that they can't add stuff that was on NASCAR games 12 plus years ago. I can easily look pass this stuff if all that stuff deliver that i just named. But from what i seen so far, the Career is the only great thing im seeing. Also what's the point of having the ability to create a driver and customize him or her and you not go be able to see them..... Besides the main menu....

yup. my expectations keep getting lower and lower the more i see of this game

That does look really weird...

But from what I've seen from Pc Beta gameplays, the physics look pretty nice actually, nice change from the ETX heavy brick physics

Yea I've noticed that as well, its very weird to see that to say the least.

Maybe we can stance them then at least with the setup then. :p  As long as the physics are good then at least it's just a model problem/error or something.

And "heavy brick physics" is the most perfect way to describe ETX by the sound of it. xD

Put em on Vossens and slam em

Also so hyped for driver creation. Haha and there's a female option too, yes!
