From the gameplay we have seen this won't be a problem in the new game as the cops don't chase you unless you are doing a race. It was a big problem in Rivals but it looks like the cops are completely different now.

They are not chasing you at all, in some races they are just barricading the race.I'm not liking the cop behavior soo far.

They are chasing but they can't keep up, which is how it should be. If you liked the cops from Rivals there is something wrong with you :P
I'm not saying I liked the cops from Rivals in any way, just giving out my thoughts.

Doesn't this always online thing screws it up for players who don't play online? Because for the consoles that this game will come out on you have to pay to play online and that would mean console players paying more just to play the game if they don't play online at all.... Idk if this was realized yet but I just thought about it... It won't stop me from buying it though but yeah I'm looking out for the players who don't play online at all

The difference between this game and Rivals though is that you can be a cop in Rivals. It wouldn't have been fair for game balance if players who were cops were stuck with unmodified Dodge Chargers while racers got Lamborghinis and Ferraris equipped with nitrous.

This is me. Satellite internet with a data limit.. For most games I can't even get into a match with other players. So my system is practically always offline. I have no "friends" on PSN, and EA comes along with the best looking NFS in years and then proceeds to slap me in the face with always-online and "social features"

So if the game requires PS+ to go online, even for singleplayer, I'm looking at spending $9.99 for a month of play, finishing the game and letting PS+ expire. Then if I want to go back to it in 6 months, I'll have to pay for PS+ again...

Why wouldn't they have fast cars with nitrous?

Confirmed car list posted by the Official Need For Speed Facebook page:

I wonder if the first BMW is a mistake and they meant to write BMW M3 E46, if not, it's still a great car.

EDIT: They just fixed their mistake so no BMW M3 E36.

I hope this isn't the case. I want to be able to have full pursuits in free roam too.
Weren't cops easy to get away from if they were chasing you anyway?
If you were in a highly tuned car yes. Cops were far too easy to evade up to heat 3 or 4 in a highly tuned car. Will probably be the same here for realism.

Hmm... I'll have to go over it again...

EDIT: I saw a Supra in the garage in that trailer, but I am a little skeptical of confirming cars based on appearances in cutscenes, as that does not necessarily mean the car will appear rendered and driveable in the game.
