single player ? well i thought there will be no single player.

You just need an internet connection to connect to their servers, which is a requirement. It's the same thing as Rivals, folks.. you can play the game entirely alone in a lag free, single player lobby.

What i don't want is if I'm customizing my car and something happen with the servers and my build goes down the drain specially if I'm making a custom Livery(if we end up getting a vinyl/wrap editor).

Another thing guys how do you feel about this game not having manual transmission?

I could care less about manual transmission when it's about this game. Heck i used automatic in almost all NFS series (except Shift series).

The thing is, if the situation required for the player to focus on evading police and so on, i'm not gonna bother with manual. I can still have fun using manual transmission in other racing games like Shift, GT, Forza and so on.

Tbh, I only used the manual transmission in Carbon, Most Wanted, and Underground 2. Since then, I didn't use it at all. I felt that the game was better than me in shifting gears. For me, it wasn't as fun as the three games I've just said. As an arcade game, I don't really need manual, but its an always welcome addition, nonetheless.

TLDR; For me, its not an essential requirement, but a welcome addition to a NFS game.

Like GTboyz said, I could care less about the lack of manual transmission. Considering that it will be a sure sight to be expecting myself in a situation where I have to focus on where I need to go, what I need to do, etc., shifting gears would definitely be something in my focus.

MT/AT in this game shouldn't be a debate on who is the "realest" driver. I haven't seen any of it going on in the past NFS titles, so why now? I know this topic isn't talked about here, but there are people who have the mindset.

It's all about having the option. Personally, as I stated earlier in this thread, no manual is a no buy from me. Very disappointed.

I'm disappointed that there's going to be no option for a manual transmission, but like I said earlier, the biggest deal breaker for me is the always online requirement.

My god this debate about manual transmission. Just let it die people. The game doesn't come with it. EA doesn't care. Period. Don't like it don't buy it.

Now, onto some actual discussion. Here's a video of full grip gameplay, courtesy of Black Panthaa:

To me it still looks like Criterion physics, but they just limited the range of movement of the rear end. Not good old Black Box grip style. Of course I wouldn't know how it feels until I actually play it, but if that's the case then I might just stick to drift settings. Patched up bad physics is worse than bad physics alone from experience (Grid 2 and Grid Autosport comes to mind).

I was also kinda hoping they would show us gameplay outside the urban area. I want to see those mountain roads dammit! The city still looks way too drab for me. Bayview (from Underground 2) looks like a vibrant, living and breathing city. This just looks like a deserted urban decay. Also, I hope Criterion/Ghost still puts lots of collectibles (smash gates, billboards, jumps) to give an incentive to explore. Otherwise there's really not much to do besides the racing and customizing.

Yea this demo is locked to a small corner of the map, for a night time city map it looks pretty amazing to me but it's not going to look anywhere near as good as the Rivals map with full day/night cycle and dynamic weather + the snow/desert/forest/ocean/country parts of the map which all have a completely different look and feel.

Yeah I was hoping they would unlock the rest of the map. We've seen these section of the city in every gameplay video now. Gets a bit stale lol. But I understand that they want to keep some areas for a surprise.

I'm not even complaining about the lack of day/night and weather (an Underground vibe game HAS to be at night anyway). Nor am I missing the coast/mountain/desert/forest biomes. It's just not that kind of game and I'm OK with that. But an urban environment can also look lively and vibrant. Bayview (UG2) and Fairhaven (MW 2012) are great cities to look at and drive in. Palmont (Carbon) and Ventura Bay, not so much (from what we can see so far).

so why are we not allowed to show our distaste on certain aspects of a game?

Because it has been said a million times in this thread already. The people who comes to this thread have all read that particular complaint. The people who don't come to this thread (including EA) will never read that complaint, even if you post it another million times. All it does is just clutter discussion. I see this thread moving 2-3 pages per day, clicking it hoping for some news, but all that was posted is complaints about lack of MT or cockpit view.

I mean I complain about always online as well, but I don't do it in every single page (not singling you out, but some other members do that).

So I don't understand the complaints about online only, I mean this is 2015 and most devices such as game consoles are already geared for solely online use, albeit not only that but mainly. I mean systems come with things smart tvs have now days which are hooked up to the internet, same with blu-ray/dvd players and so on.

The fact that all you have to do is enter in a wi-fi access and not necessarily an Ethernet cable which most do anyways for updates for all games played nowdays, I fail to see how it's an issue.

So discussing why some people have a certain distaste for certain aspects of the game is wrong because you don't feel like reading it?

Not everyone has a great or stable internet connection.

Yeah but what if your internet goes down? What if you want to take your console to a friends house and he doesn't have wifi or can't remember the wifi password? I can't see it being much of an issue for me but there will be lots of people who will run into problems.

Rivals can be played 100% without an internet connection. So no, it's not the same.

i just hope I'm able to customize without getting disconnected.

You are gonna be able to increase the grip even more in the final build.I seen other videos and the grip looks straight up black box/old school NFS,even if its not black box style this handling is probably the best since the classic era in my opinion,As for new areas me too i was hoping to see other areas and i do agree the demo aside from the graphics looks dead and that awful weird music that kicks in from time to time but it does have atmosphere and again the visuals are top notch.the dusk and dawn time setting will look amazing specially the sunsets.

Another thing i noticed was the cops A.I and behavior i don't know who they are chasing, in some videos you can see the cops in front of all the racers and sometimes you bump into a cop and they stay there.all they have to do is have the cops from Most wanted 2005 and have a heat system.i hope they have a great balance with the cops , i don't wanna have to chase them like in most wanted 2012.

Regarding the handling, it looks like a better version of Criterion handling. The car seems to have more proper weight than the cars in Rivals, MW12 and HP2010. I can't wait to try it out, people had said that you have to countersteer while drifting, something that is the opposite of Criterion handling.

Indeed is a fine tuned version of Criterion's handling, you should watch VVV footage you can see how grippy the handling is when hes using the Porsche.in my opinion the game already is looking amazing, I'm looking forward to more info regarding the paint/vinyls and that will determine my decision to purchase this game.

It looks almost too grippy, it felt like the car just keep understeering, i do like how one of the Youtubers said that you can still do powerslides even if you choose grip handling.

Then you have various other games to play, when games that I play have server or maintenance issues I have to find something else to play, but I don't rue them because they're strictly online, or offer better experience online vs their offline counter parts. Why would you need to take the console to your friends house as opposed to letting him play at your house where clearly the experience is better?

Not everyone has a great or stable internet connection.

Unless you still run dial-up, I can't see it being that bad of an issue, no one is saying you need 125 mbps

I'm definitely cool with it!!.. it reminds me of the handling of hot pursuit 2, power sliding was hard to pull off but very rewarding, soo yeah I'm happy soo far with the handling they are showing i wish i can try it. hopefully the game will be at NYC comic con, I'm from New York city and i go there every year.

lol that was just an example, i'm just saying there's always going to be situations for people where they won't have the internet and it's pretty stupid to not be able to play a single player game without being online.

This is another video on grip handling and I thought it was nice how it looked, I will stick to drifting though.

On the online thing, since this game doesn't appear to be so embedded on the social stuff (like say, Destiny) there can always be a last patch so the online only requirement is turned off. The real problem is the server stability, which is something I'm pretty sure they'll have problems with. For me it's not a deal breaker but I'd rather have it turned off.
