New Acura NSX in GT5?

Here is some food for thought. Acura has admitted that the original powertrain for this NSX was a 3.5L V6 producing 400hp. This is without the electric motors in the tranny and up front. However Honda has scrapped this setup for the NSX and is now going into the next RL because they felt it was not enough for a car like the NSX.
The actual powertrain for the NSX is still unknown but we can speculate. Honda says it will still be a V6 so i would guess that if the 400hp motor isn't enough then 500hp is plausable. This is without the electric motors offcourse. I would say 30-50hp for the front motors and 100 for the tranny motor(talk about getting rid of drivetrain loss).
Electric motors tend to make more torque than gasoline engine and torque tends to be instant. I have no doubt the three electric motor combo will make 300lb-ft with the V6 we can safely say 500lb-ft is plausable. Remember this is all speculation but if what Honda said about the origins of the next RL's powertrain is true then i don't think i'm too far off.
The only thing that really confuses me is Honda said this car is supposed to fuse man and machine or something along those lines so why the 7speed DSG gear box?

Honda/Acura have confirmed that the NSX will be a hybrid drivetrain. Of course, I would rather have them develop a MR car without the electric motor and batteries :sly:

Am I the only one who finds this even slightly significant?

Could possibly be a time lapse feature for suzuka, or maybe its just how Honda wanted it rendered.

I doubt Honda has much say in how PD does the trailer (Other than making their product look good). I would imagine on track lighting would be of no concern to Honda. This leads me to believe PD have re-done Suzuka as it should be.

Looks like a mix of the DN-X with the HSC. The lines have a lot of flow going on, and yet the car maintains a very muscular tone in its shapes.

Do you also foresee PD as a design studio somehow?

Just take the 1991 NSX and slap a 2012 badge on it, it looks so much better than this new thing.

You two have read my mind... When I saw this concept on blogs, I immediately thought back to the DN-X and HSC.

And a revamped '91 NSX with more modern day technologies and composites would probably catch my eye more. I've been saying this for years... Just take a look at a replica car like the Hawk HF3000

The car and track look great.

But to be honest a track with very long straits and banked corners is not much fun to drive on, I don't like SSR7 either.
I'd rather have some original GT courses.
But ofcours that is just my opinion.

alot of people are very happy about it so it would be good if PD did release it 👍

Correction- "a track with very long straits and banked corners is not much fun to drive on" if you're using DS3 controller or the cheaper wheels (and that includes the G25/G27 although some might disagree).

If you're using better wheels like the Fanatec (especially the new CSR-E) or the Thrustmaster T500RS, even going straight can be just as fun (double entendre, no doubt). And banking with those wheels is simply terrific.

That was a beautiful video. :,)

If you put perfume on a pig, you still have just a pig. That's all that video was. The car didn't look that great at all. In fact, it looked like someone at honda watches too many low budget sci-fi movies. Looks cheap.

But're you're right, video was good and I liked the song played.

I use a G25 this "cheap" wheel is expensive enough for me 👍

Correction - A "cheap" wheel and an expensive one isn't going to really change what it's like to drive in a straight line.
Correction - A $300 G27 is more expensive then most Fanatec wheels. ;)

I have a cheap wheel, and I seriously doubt spending another $400 on a more expensive wheel would change my immersion level that drastically.

Anyways a test track is good for testing, doesn't matter what you use, since I did lots of GT4 testing, and that was all DS3 driving. ;)

Are you 100% sure about that? Last I checked it was one of the cleanest burning lowest emission engines... Offcourse when you delete all the cats and emission control systems it can become a bit dirty like any other engine.

The K20 isn't that comparable to the new engines in the K line-up, I should have clarified that. In fact, I think the K20 is LEV, but not ULEV.

There's gotta be an end point to all the LEV ULEV abbreviations by the way.

It's meant as a joke- sorry if it offends. I used to use the G25 until less than a week ago and I never used believe when people tell me that the difference between the newer, more expensive wheels is huge. But I'm sure I'll still be quite happy had I not switched.

Stili, if you experience the CSR-E or T500RS on any straight line in GT5, you won't say "to be honest". You'd probably say "I'd be lying" instead.

Why? Are they not clean enough already? Why is it that they have to die?
They are no longer the gas guzzlers of the 70s, in fact the best selling hybrid has the enviromental impact of 2 gasoline powered compact cars.

That was probably combined pollution (factories, the chemical processing, etc) the hybrid's engine itself is clean, but definitely not a K20.

Besides, the production of hybrids got a lot cleaner now that Toyota and Honda are finding ways to produce them with less environmental impact. Hybrids and the related tech can only grow cleaner.

As for the K20, I think Honda stopped production of the original, but the series still continues.

They can a must get cleaner in order to be relevant and gain the respect and acceptance they need, but there's other alternate technologies that maybe better. Right now hybrid cars sell for all the wrong reasons, not for what they should.

no offence taken 👍

I just saw the Acura Super Bowl Spot for the NSX and it had me wonder.

Saw the same one (didn't even recognize Seinfeld at first) but yes I do think we will see the new NSX soon.

In before "Ohh bla bla PD takes 6 months to model a car because bla bla perfect and absurd attention to detail". Seriously, that excuse has gotta go. I know K.Y said it but he meant 6 moths of man hours, so if 3 people do one car it'll be done in 2 months. And even so, 6 months is a bit too much for the quality of GTs models. They are great and among the best in the industry, but still far from perfect...specially in the sound department.

What does that have to do with anything? We know they already modeled the car...

I'm wondering if it will be in an update or as DLC. I'm going to bet on it being in an update, but I wouldn't really mind paying for it either.

Yea I'm sure they have a model built for it already. Its just a matter of how they decide to release it in correlation to the release of its real life counterpart. Its suppose to be the GTR killer. I can't wait :)

If Honda are smart (and sometimes I wonder, I really do), then they'll have been working with PD and other game companies to get this modeled and ready (we already know PD has it, since it's been in some promo vids), and they'll have a contract set up by which the NSX doesn't show up in the game until the day (or the week, at least) it goes on sale officially. That way, it "goes on sale" in the game the same time it does in the real world.

I saw the commercial as well. I think there's a good possibility, I mean it's been what like 2 months since the first mention of it on GTP. PD should have it all designed and what not. Maybe, I don't know how long stuff like that takes. :gtpflag:

It wont be in the next DLC just because you saw it on TV.

Ohz my gosh, I see'd a new car on tevelision! GT5 nxt DLC!!!

I don't really understand the thought process.

Edit: I take that back.

Although the original poster didn't include it, but considering the coverage in the GT5 release video of the car and now it's being advertised on television (especially at the SuperBowl) there is a high chance that it could be in the next DLC so I wouldn't write it off.

That, and given that Acura's website has a promotional video of the car, all done within GT5, it seems reasonable to imagine that the car might show up in some future DLC or update.
