New DLC's every two Months, Says Kazunori Yamauchi

DLC every two months? Sounds a lot like Call of Duty; a game I no longer play.

Except CoD DLC is 3-4 maps for 15$ while for 12$ we get 4 tracks 17 cars, and a ton of other little stuff(Paint/outfits). And we don't have to worry about buying a game EVERY YEAR. Instead we might pay 100$ for the game and all DLC over 2-3 yrs while with CoD you might pay 200$ and still not get everything, and be bored with it in between each edition.

Are you expecting that amount of content every two months?

If so I'd like to know how all off a sudden they can punt out that content when they claim it takes a lot of man power to code.

And what were the 4 tracks?

As much as I like the Skyline, I sincerely hope that every DLC release doesn't contain 4 Skylines!

Where's all the happy people? This is supposed to be good news! They already got all the premium Skylines, so they'll probably move on to other cars. Or even NEW ONES! :D

And the tracks (trucks LOLZ)? Didn't you guys ask for more?

i bet its another japanese cars again... im not interested.... they ruined the first impresion

Since Spec 2.0 we got 11 new NASCAR cars and the GT-R N24 Schulze Motor Sports for free.
The first batch of DLC included 10 Japanese TC cars and 1 American TC car (I'm excluding the X2011 Prototype and the 3 karts).
So we got essentially 12 American cars (I'm including the 4 Camry's since they're basically American too even though they're labelled Japanese in the game) and 11 Japanese cars so far (8 American and 19 Japanese cars if you include all and are strict about it).
Something tells me there might be some European cars in the next batch of DLC.

2 tracks, one of which has a variation, is not "4 tracks."

And the paints/suits aren't actually bonuses when there isn't a single justification for PD to charge for them in the first place, let alone as single-use items.

I gladly will call you an idiot again based on what you posted. Worst of the fps dlc of a yearly franchise (with next to no improvements in sequels let alone patches) with a subscription service that other games do for free being compared to GT5, lol. Total opposites. I think the idiot comment is more than just well deserved.

I am not going to waste anymore time on you.
Yeah, that's not an explanation. That is just digging your hole deeper.

Just ignore it, people like to hear them selves talk(or type) and they think people actually care.
I suggest you look up the definition of irony before you say things like this.

You will never see that because it would completely ruin the currency-parity among regions.

DLC is tied to particular region/monetary-union because of the reasons of actual cost-to-customer.

If they would make DLC region-free - which they will never, nor will any other publisher to be honest - everybody from around the would would just shop from the US store because of the current price of the US dollar.

Will never happen. It has nothing to do with Polyphony Digital - if it would ever happen, which is not possible, it is something that falls under the publisher (Sony in case of GT), not developer category - it is just the way how world works.

I think I expressed it the wrong way. I totally agree with the currency/price parity thing.
What I want resolved is the incompatibility issues with the "strange mix" of Disc/PSNaccount/DLC regions.

A lot of people that bought their games on regions different than the ones their playing account are, either because they bought games while on short trips or because they have moved worldwide. I agree to buy DLC from a PSN Store from the region of the DISC (which I have done for other games in the past), but not to lock it to playing PSN accounts from different regions.

Almost no other game apart from GT5 does this kind of blocking. This means that I cannot install the DLC on my Brazilian PSN account because my GT5 disc is from UK. My only option is to start the game over using a UK account (very painful, right? Imagine yourself not able to buy the DLC unless you restart your game file from zero?)

This was widely discussed when the DLC came out, lots of people with similar problems complained. And we are only complaining because we WANT TO BUY THE DLC, we want to give PD the money they are asking. It is not pointless whining, we are willing to pay! We just dont want to reset the whole game and lose the many hours invested in GT5 until now.

All this negativity is really making me not enjoy this site to much.
It's like a bunch of cackaling hens in this thread. I'd rather go listen to my wife. lol

Agreed. How about we appreciate what we've received and look to the future in a positive state of mind.

I just want an R33 gtst please

Who's to say that EVERY DLC is going to cost the same amount? What is it with so many simple minded people on this site that think "ugh more DLC at 20quid a pop every 2 months - PD sucks" its rubbish. For all you know, the next DLC may well be cheaper. It all depends on what they make available.

Comparing GT to COD is a bit silly too, how do you compare a FPS to a Racing game? Thats like explaining the similarities between a battery and pizza.

Personally, I look forward to seeing what they make available through DLC, and how it will be handled, with regards to actually downloading it.... I know for the Spec 2 linked DLC is was in with the rest of the content for the patch. Will the future DLC be an actual download patch file to add in your purchases or what?

Because he was comparing the perceived unfair DLC practices between the two games, had you actually read the post in question. Not the games themselves.

I bet they just release a few new suits/helmets in the upcoming DLC's (which frankly most people don't give a crap about, you're driving a car not entering a fashion show), cause I don't see PD making new tracks every couple of months, Spa/Kart Space probably took them the majority of the year to make anyway, maybe longer :nervous:

Couple points:

First, KY said cars and trucks(tracks?) are coming so you are wrong right off the bat. Second, he mentioned choosing the first DLC from a 'pool of resources', meaning they have more than what was given to us finished or close to completion and ready to be DLC. Those weren't the only cars and tracks they have been working on since GT5 released. They probably had a ton of content partially completed before GT5 even released.

And I know not everyone likes driving suits, but have you have noticed in real racing, drivers wear unique suits that fit them and there personality? They aren't all in boring black, red, and grey suits. I like suits because I want to make my driver look unique, look cool. It adds a little personality to a game that allows minimal options with no livery editor and few car mod options.

Something different and out of the ordinary please. How about....

Eastern block car pack.
British hatchbacks of the 80s.
Korean cars of the 90s.

Etc.

Ie something new not just rehashes of what is already there.

ParkourVeyron
Dream on. Basically what Kaz is saying we'll have to wait two whole months for more crappy RM and so-called "TC" cars. I only bought the whole pack for the bonuses, not the cars. And It'll get old FAST if we only get two new tracks and fifteen new cars every two months.

The tc cars are outstanding! Hardly crappy, the rx7 is a beast and joy to drive

Ehh wrong. You get 2 Kart tracks, and Spa 1 is without weather change and 1 is with weather/time. 4 VERY different tracks. You can try to say Spa is 1 track but if you actually race in the rain/night you know it is a completely different animal.

Are you expecting that amount of content every two months?

No I am not, but I am expecting at least 3-4 cars and 1 track every other month. That doesn't sound to unreasonable does it? Since as 90% of the complainers here are stating it will only be RM/TC cars not unattainable.

Variations do not count as separate tracks. Weather change (and Spa is not time change) versions of tracks absolutely do not count as separate tracks. PD doesn't even call them different tracks on the DLC page, so you are truly stretching the definition there.

Hyped up? It's called Spec 2.0, the second version of GT5, it was supposed to be radical, a slew of new features, but it turned out to be more like GT5 1.5. All it was is a bunch of tweaks and fixes and a few features it should've had in the first place. And it's PD's fault that it got so hyped up, a tweet could've easily been released saying not to get our hopes up.

Spec 2 is just the number of updates/patches the game has had since it came out, the next update will be spec 2.1, it was never was or ment to be the 2nd version of gt5 only tweeks ect, it just happened to be a big update. Don't like the game then go play forza or some other arcade racer!

Thats bull:censored: and you know it. We got all the original Skylines and their Spec V versions, including some road versions, the GTR + racing cars and special editions.

And no more racing cars please. We already got too much.

That is false, we do not have enough racing premium cars.

There is no such thing as too many cars.

it was never was or ment to be the 2nd version of gt5
Except it explicitly was, and if it wasn't PD should have made it known that it wouldn't be like what Spec II for Prologue was.

Don't like the game then go play forza or some other arcade racer!
Get out of here with this crap.

I think all ya'all should look at the new DLC from a GT5-ographer's point of view.
New DLC ? Sweet, more stuff to shoot.

Toronado, you sound like an old troll from here, STIGR6 or something like that, if you dislike the game so much why play it? PD said this was the 2.0 update. Not the Spec II from prologue. Yes it is "implied" it is similar, but going by what PD said, they delievered in the 2.0 update. Just because you got your hopes up for another 1000 cars or 100 tracks doesn't mean it disappointed.

Nice try, but try actual refutation rather than ad hominem and red herring arguments.

Man if they just release the missing tracks from previous gt's ss r11 mid fied and motegi are the most important to me..

I too asked for a better gear selection than the basic 6 or so default avatars you could pick from the start and couldn't change once chosen.
Although I'd much prefer the approach they took with Tourist Trophy whereby there was a small but nice and varied selection of real suits and helmets available and you could also select gloves and boots seperately.
There were even vintage and casual riding suits and helmets available and, more importantly, you didn't have to randomly collect them.

Now we have a huge quantity of different suits and helmets mainly consisting of a few types they decided to apply different colours and patterns on.
If they had just implemented a 'tool' whereby we could choose the colours they wouldn't have to come up with all these variations themselves, or just did what already worked fine in Tourist Trophy.

You're missing the whole point. Spec 2 was supposed to be the 2nd version of GT5, not just tweaks, it got all the hype because it was supposed to be the second version of the game, not just tweaks! We were expecting new features, but PD was too stupid to put out a tweet to suppress all the speculation. It was a big letdown, and you seem like too much of a fanboy to understand that.
Don't like the game then go play forza or some other arcade racer!
More proof that you're biased. Get out of here with this sheer bull. There really is no point in arguing with you anymore because no matter what I say you'll still be a fanboy.

Toro's spot on.

It was supposed to be like the one from GT5P! That's what you don't understand! PD should've never called it Spec 2.0, more like GT5 1.14.

Some people will never be happy , but the worst thing is that almost every thread in GTPlanet turns into a war zone .

No it wasn't the name was Spec 2.0 not SPEC II. You were the one hyping yourself to death and now you are complaining cause it didn't meet your excessively high expectations.

Some people will never be happy , but the worst thing is that almost every thread in GTPlanet turns into a war zone .

This is the truth. The worst part about it is that 90% of the fights are cause by people who don't care for the game and only want to troll.

How am I bias? I agree the spec2 name was a little misleading but pd never said it was going to be anything other than what it was. Just what do you expect from pd for your 39 pound it cost you for the game, yes it wasn't the finished game on release (nor is it now) but pd have vastly improved on it month after month whilst dealing with a national crisis and moving to new premises. And how am I a fanboy? yeah I love the game even with its shortfalls but I'm just saying if people are going to moan and put the game down so much then simply don't play it, there are other games out on xbox and ps3 but nothing like gt5 and that includes forza 4 (which I own by the way) and its very arcade compared to gt5.
