New DLC's every two Months, Says Kazunori Yamauchi

Actually it said simplified, not simple. So like the existing interiors, but less complex. They have delivered the bear minimum of what can pass as "simplified interiors". Can hardly exceed any expectation, can it?

And that exceeds your expectation again?

I don't follow your logic.

So what did *you* expect when Kaz said improved UI and useability, that would be even less than this.

I am not a customer of the opposing consoles. I am a customer of GT5, which promised me "improved AI". Yes my expectations where too high, I really thought we were gonna get decent AI.

You sound very excited indeed.

Again the bear minimum. It didn't help me yet to find a room with evenly matched cars.

I hope so, but their track record lately doesn't look good.

Simple, simplified something. Both are BASIC views from the cockpit.

Yes it did exceed my expectations as some of the new Features(that you refuse to acknowledge) are not usable everywhere.
If you aren't going to acknowledge some features but not acknowledge others, go back to GT5 before it got any updates. That is what I am saying. You are having a double standard and then complaining about it. Don't like the AI how "slow" they are start downtuning your car so you might actually have to have a challenge.

The online "bare minimum features" are better then what it was. The community wanted to limit cars to specific classes and they have it. Once again you don't like it go back to GT5 1.0. You can try to spin it any way you want but the fact remains the community(THAT Wanted these features) is happy with it and anticipating more to come. You aren't happy with the way GT5 is. Go buy a 360 and get FM3/4. See you inside of a month.

Spec 2 exceeded my expectations because most of what was added or fixed was what I was hoping for. These first DLC cars are safe to say mediocre. Only reason being that they weren't completely new cars. The future ones will be new cars so I'm excited to see what that adds.

You can try to say Spa is 1 track but if you actually race in the rain/night you know it is a completely different animal.

Night? Are you sure.

Why does F1 2011 advertise itself as having only 19 tracks when it has variable weather?
A bit confused here.

Easy Bobby. Back on topic: I do hope that the DLC is gonna be better than the first DLC. Though I don't know why they would keep the good stuff on the shelves and try the waters with what they offer in the current DLC. On the other hand it's PD, so I wouldn't be that surprised to find out Kaz thought some Skylines in a DLC pack is more exciting than new Ferraris.

Because the average consumer doesn't know any better. Most none virtual-gear heads don't know the challenges/differences racing in rain/night.

Kabooi, don't forget to add the new cars would also require new Licensing requirements thus more monetary compensation to Ferrari who already keeps strict track of their virtual name.

It's still one track. One piece of tarmac.

Last warning. On topic or thread gets closed and people start getting PMs.

people stay on topic, this is a thread to talk about your thoughts on new DLCs every 2 months. and what kind of packs you hope to see. not about specII get back on topic

id like to see all the tracks finally being released (the hidden track logos on the site) and hopefully at least a RM/TC mustang so my friends and i can get an american series together.

How hard is it for people to stay on topic?

Awesome news! If we really do get new DLC every 2 months I'll be very happy. I don't even care what car/track combinations they give us, I'll still be happy. Some people get far to carried away over a game , most of the comments in here are laughable, ohh look, another thread we can go and throw a tantrum in, yayy.

I just hope they release a Viper RM or a DB9 RM at some point... :)

I just hope they continue to develop the game from now on and not just release car and track packs. We need more physics updates, menu updates, features, etc. Tyre width and tyre pressure is seems non-existent as far as gt5 is concerned.

Oh and yea I care very very little about new car content but care a LOT about new tracks especially real world ones. Don't get me wrong it not a bad thing to have, but it should be in the background of everything else. We have 1000 cars but so few tracks. And this game is just begging for some good point to point touge battles

Think about it this way, most people race with only a few cars but almost everyone races on all the tracks. I have NEVER run out of cars to try in playing gt5 for a year, but I ran out of tracks on the first day.

I'm sure this applies to 99% of people.

P.S: That said I REALLY want a black/orange color scheme Veyron Super Sport.

AMEN snake, I could of not said it better. I agree with you 100%

exactly my thought on this topic

Finish your game before you start selling addons
So many bugs in spec 2 it's ridiculous
You want me to dream about new tracks and cars .... in front of a black screen lol
PD should get the basics done first
online race searchoptions etc etc

ALMS pack? Just to stick it to Forza, though they probably have exclusives on a lot of the cars :grumpy:

My real contribution:

If you are screaming sebring don't for get about road america'

I hope the next DLC has more tracks. As much as I want more cars and I was happy with Spa and Kart Space but I was hoping for more than 2 tracks, so fingers crossed. Pretty sure Test Course is an 80% - 90% possibility..looking at the end of Spec II Intro. :D

I bought the bundle package when the DLC came out. I can honestly say that most of the cars still have 0 miles on them. I just have to find time to actually start driving them. The racing leagues here on GTP have me occupied ATM. :) For me, this car pack should last well into next year. So I think I'm good on that. I guess what I'm trying to say is I would like PD to focus on introducing more tracks.

I think this is a really interesting point. :)

Surely much of that bias is due to the fact Japanese car brands (more and more this applies to the rest of Asia) are sold throughout the world with minimal variation to meet local regulations/tastes.

You can buy a Eunos/Miata/MX5 just about anywhere and it will look and drive roughly the same.

The same really can't be said for North American cars.

The rest of the world knows what a Mustang is but it simply doesn't know or care about regular N.Am econo-boxes (say a Taurus).

This may change though as Ford (for example) is seemingly starting to harmonise their global offering of cars (Focus for example) and perhaps start to phase out more and more single market offerings.

European cars seem to sit somewhere in the middle for their "international appeal". Obviously everyone knows about Ferrari/Lamborghini and to a lesser extent VAG, BMW and MB but does anyone outside of Europe know or care about the Skoda Yeti or the Fiat Panda?

Can we have a 90s Fiat Cinquecento please! :D

How dare you make fun of the Taurus...that is my daily driver yo!!! (actually true it's an 07)

Seriously though you make some great points. The problem that I see with PD is the national/regional bias, but only toward Japan. Their are other car manufactures in the area like Hyundai and Kia which are becoming heavy players and then Australia with it's great cars (for once I agree that the Aussies get the short end in GT5). Basically, even for the Asian region, Japan has a massive bias. I can understand the NA cars having many variations of the same model, cause each one is different and I also think Europe as well.

Tracks is definitely a stronger point for me too. It's not that great to have more cars, and no new tracks to drive it on. If we're not gonna have new races for them, at least have new tracks to drive them on.

Just for the sake of being reasonable, PD can save most, if not all, new tracks for GT6. I'll be fine if we're only getting original tracks for DLC.

I will only buy DLC that includes at least one track. For the huge number of cars we already have, I think the amount of tracks needs to be increased.

I'm much more exited by the possibility of new tracks than cars.

I can understand that, I think new tracks should be added along with old original tracks like Seatle. A new track that would be nice is Road America or Sebring (they look similar in layout shape). I'd also like a true Monaco circuit.

You must understand why people want new cars? As far as race cars go Nascar and Super GT (sort of) are the only racing series up to date in the game. Where is ILMC/ALMS/LMS cars? Modern DTM? V8 Supercar? Or even Classic F1 cars. People ask for new cars because when you actually take the time to see how many new cars where added to the game and how many are the same from past games(as well as being hardly updated standards), you begin to see why people want actual new cars.

maybe we will get lucky and they will add some old Can-Am cars, and a fantasy 80's style turbo F1 car.

If you are screaming Sebring don't for get about Road America'
Booth awesome tracks indeed, Mosport is another cool one. I have them on GTR2.

^This.

IMSA has a contract with msn and apparently now Top Gear, so we are most likely shafted on a lot of stuff that we could've had. Personally I don't think they did as much as they could've for Top Gear though. Honestly I would prefer ILMC cars and events though. IMSA is dieing a horrible self inflicted death.

Back to topic now.

I am hoping for more tracks but more challenging A Spec events. The only thing that bugs me off of GTP's interview with Kaz was that he said he WISHED HE HAD included more A-spec events. I really hope they didn't load the interface to the point of where they can't update it anymore.

I am also kind of surprised that we haven't heard if there is or not a 1 year pack or even a free download in 2 weeks.

How about instead of charging us each month also, just come up with one set price that we pay and then when the DLC comes out, we get it through the DLC button in the main menu. I'm not too sure about everyone else, but I didn't really find the first DLC worth the $11.00 for cars again that are rarely going to be used, and you can only race SPA and Kart Track sooo many times and then it's just in the shuffle with the rest of the tracks.

You're right about that one, for sure. Besides, people can just go out and race on Spa and Kart Space II online anyway so they're not even bothering to buy the DLC pack.

IMO, I don't see PD doing that much in the way of releasing cars... maybe a Civic here and a bunch of Miatas there. Hopefully PD starts all the interiors, starting with the Audi R8 and the Toyota 7... I don't see why the open-topped cars didn't get changed into premium cars.

Would love a hypercar pack though... a Pagani Huayra would certainly be tasty.

I for one really don't care about the dlc, pd should focus on fixing the issues with the game instead of milking as much money as they can from fanboy's

More tracks is all I want, I already have more cars than I can use so bring back the GT4/3 tracks please PD.

New Gran Turismo 5 DLC Approximately “Every Two Months”. Well, that's actually very nice to hear. :D:tup:

But I hope with "trucks'" he means "tracks", because that's what we need more. Or did he mean real trucks for truck racing?

And let's hope they going to adjust the DLC price to their new 2-month-release-strategy, because 11,99€ every 2 month is a bit too much. This would be 71,94€ (98,98$), per year. :dunce:

Btw. I'll only spend more money on GT5 DLC if they fix GT5 online, because the game is online already dead, at least for me. :ouch:

Edit: oh, and please not again 93,33% Japanese cars. :sly:
