750PP at Daytona Road has been great so far, using my 111R which is a bit slow on the straights but faster than anything else under brakes and in the corners, had a couple of second and third places, but there are a number of Japanese drivers in Amuse S2000s going off into the distance...

Glad to have this track back though 👍

Had some GREAT races on 750pp Daytona Rd last night! I'm so happy we have Daytona Rd back! I've probably been complaining the most of anyone about its absence.

I dont understand why dont dont just have ALL the tracks in every class ALL the time?!?!? I mean now I have to miss my fav... Suzuka 750 pp en high speed ring 750 pp which has been gone for a while now.... I want to be able to chose all tracks in 750PP that would be a whole lot better en cooler :P

They narrow the choices to prevent matching problems. If your favorite track is 550pp London, that won't help if there's never anyone to race there. However, if 550pp London is one of 3 choices, you'll always be able to find a race.

Is that actually true Vax?

I can see it might be a problem if there were unlimited choices, but surely they could offer more than 3 choices for Pro? How does Forza 2 work?

I can guarantee that is their reasoning. I'm guessing they want fewer full events rather than more sparsely attended events in order to gather better performance data.

They could probably expand the offering by a few choices without too much impact, but the less popular offerings would end up pretty much abandoned unless they keep the number of choices small.

:grumpy: I haven't posted in a while, but I'd been slowly getting back into GT5:P, well until this online update I was. They have finally nailed the coffin on this game for me. Where the hell are all the Pro races going? By the time the 'mythical' Autumn update arrives, GT5:P will be a full blown arcade racer! :yuck:

There is no Suzuka 700pp pro, no Suzuka 750pp pro, and they finally cheesed out Daytona Speedway, by relegating it to the beginner classes! WTF!? :grumpy: I don't know what the hell they were thinking of there. The 700pp Daytona race was always popular, even on pro physics. I was hoping that they were going to promote it back to pro physics, but I guess I can forget that idea. PD and Sony have shown (with this online update) that they don't even understand their own game - shocking levels of ignorance and arrogance!!!

 Oh well, back to Call of Duty for me then...

The other thing I would love to have is longer races - at the very least 5 laps on Suzuka & Fuji.

Incidentally, I was surprised to be involved in 3 races in a row last night (Fuji 600PP, before the online update) with a full grid. It was me in my Clio & 15 Evos. Weird.

I'm actually kind of excited to get home to try out daytona road 750pp. I haven't really raced it because it was never offered in a 750pp class before, but now it sounds like a blast.

Daytona 750pp is fun! There are quite a lot of competitive cars, so this isn't going to be a "single car" race!

That would mean that PD would have to have more servers Oh wait:banghead: (we are their servers thats why we have to host their races)!

:tup:Virtually all the top tuned cars are competitive:

Corvette/tuned
Viper/tuned
Amuse S2000
Mines Skyline
Ford GT Trial car

I'm loving the Elise 111R/tuned but they're just way to slow on the straights. On a non-slipstream basis, I pass the start/finish line at 170mph in the elise but very close 200mph in the corvette:scared:

My 1st online race on Daytona road I ended up coming 2nd (lost by .008 seconds) in my Viper/Tuned, its a really fun race when the host doesn't leave.

What Vaxen said is just common sense. The more races there are available, the more spread out the user base for each one will be, and some will end up with no users at all. That said, I'd prefer more choice than there is at the moment, and for my tastes there are too many people in each race. Between 4 and 8 is my perfect number for good racing.

Are they actually doing this?

What are the differences in the way GT5P online & Forza operate?

I agree: although I have been in a few 12 - 16 car races that were lag-free, it is in any case, too many cars for a reasonable 3 lap race.

Anyone have any good recommendations for a Z06 tune, as far as garages?

whooo the blitz is fast at daytona road! fun to drive to its a real handfull!

Standard phsyics on Suzuka 700pp is killing us drifters!

Wow, for the very first time I'm actually happier with the lineup after an update. I actually spent the last couple of weeks back in GT4 (mostly) because I disliked the lineup so much.

I do think they need more Pro events. The Elise was my favorite on Daytona Road 500pp, but as mentioned above, I don't think it has the straight-line speed to do it at 750. I went out and practiced a bit for this event last night and my laptimes in the Ford GT LM are as much as 5 seconds faster than I can currently manage in the Elise Tuned or the Elise 111r Tuned.

The Lion's Den, just up the power to accomodate for worse tyres.:) The gears should be right for Daytona Road.

I thought daytona had more curves in it than it did. It's basically an oval with 2 big brake points...the turns aren't even anything complicated. I did switch cars to the viper though, but it seems like once again the GT LM is going to be the car of choice.

I wish there were more cars that could reach 750pp, the gtr, f430, nsx-r, just to name a few. I'm just kind of tired of seeing the same old same old cars.

The only explanation I have is that, for whatever reason, PD have decided they don't want me to play GT anymore.

Fine, you've won, I quit. :grumpy:

I tried daytona road in the GTlm, fortunately the host quit just before I flatlined. Has to be the most tedious track I've ever driven on.

The big august update woulda had me excited too but, unless they put some proper tracks back in for 750pp, I'll be selling my copy and waiting til the full game comes out.

Well, I was feeling the same way, because I was really, really, really, really, REALLY bored of doing just Suzuka at 750PP. I'm glad they changed it to something else. But don't leave, just put your copy in a safe place and come back in a few weeks when the events change again. :)

I love Daytona Road, just because it has some of those corners that look like you can take them fast, when in actual fact its faster to go slower around them.

Oh, and braking markers are interesting to find.

All this makes it, in my opinion, a punters nightmare, at least after you have left them in some dust, as they cant keep up fast lap times.

I like Daytona 750. I'm using my old Corvette with the same Setup like on Suzuka and it's realy good. One race every 10 min is ok so i'll be there at xx:00;xx :10... :)

I was kinda fed up with Suzuka too but as far as I'm concerned there's only suzuka and fuji in the game. I wouldn't like to dis tracks other people enjoy, suffice to say the rest are not 'my style' of racetracks. More power to people who do like HSR and Daytona but those are a whole different game to me, like comparing tetris to quake - it's a debate that's not worth entering in to. But I wish PD had left at least suzuka or fuji in there.

If they put them back in next update I'll see you then but for now I guess I'l just have to satisfy myself with some of the hotlap events (which I haven't even looked at yet) Just when I'd gotten to like the online racing thing too :(

I see their plan! Keep this up and they WONT HAVE TO MAKE A GT5. I guess you cant please all the people all the time. Seeing as we 'host' the races why cant we choose tracks and PP for ourselves? DAMN!
