He got a demo disk?!?!?! wonder if its a GT5 demo or just a general sony demo disk like with magazines.

The general impression is "physics like in the GT Academy demo, better graphics, everything is fine". ;) That demo he got is something from before Prologue.

Just translated the link through Google:

As the price we all have a "GT-Merchandise Package" won. Lanyards, GT mark amplifier, T-shirt (which by the PSL-24-hour race of two years ago), and a fine demo. I have not yet tried, but I guess that's something older. Is a press packet believe, with pictures, a letter and two discs. A media information and a demo disc packed in a black glossy slipcase.
Seems he won it as a prize - not followed things any further than that yet so have no idea if the demo they got is the same or different.

*cough*

I'm a member in this forum and he posted that later.
It's something from 2007 with advertisment for Prologue.

Yeah, just followed the thread, and as you say, it seems to pre-date the actual release of Prologue. Still, it's a nice thing to have if you are a fan of the series and like collectiong stuff!

Yeah, we love our firearms......and we build your hockey rinks 200ft by 85ft :p

So sorry to re-iterate but Does anyone know if the HUD on the C6's support metric?

I know in game it Does Not.

Im wondering about Real Life.

I've been reading a bit more from GrüneHölle's impressions of the demo (quoted by his posts throughout that thread):

Ich meine übrigens, dass die Breite der Strecke passt.

Für mein Empfinden war es aber wieder etwas "leichter" als bei der TT-Demo zu fahren.

My translation (I'm not that good at German, so please correct me if I'm wrong):

1. The track width is correct.
2. A bit easier than the TT demo.

3. It is harder than in GT4 to drive at the limit.
4. The grass is very slippery and the curbs must be taken carefully.

Was mir grad noch aufgefallen ist: Der Curb Ausgangs der Eiskurve hat hinter dem rot-weiß-curb noch keine Rattersteine spendiert bekommen. Also schon Curb #3 der nicht orijinoool ist...

5. At the Eiskurve there are not yet bricks behind the curb-stones. (apparently the real track has them)
6. ??????

This from Ricky (GrüneHölle confirms):

So isses!
1. The fans are located at the correct sites. (24h layout)
2. The gratify is from last year.
3. The track layout is correct (??)
4. GT5 is ahead of the competition regarding the above.

So nothing really new. :)

Thanks for the translation! 👍

I'm native german so I can clear some things up, apart from those everything is correctly translated :)

6. ??????

He says that it's the third curb that's not "original" if I'm not mistaken. So they overall noticed 3 curbs on the entire track that are not 100% precise.

3. The track layout is correct (??)

Yes, that's correctly translated ...he too only says that apart from the not 100% original curbs the Nordschleife in GT5 is the best one in all gaming, because he played them all ... likely including all PC sims as well.

Thanks Zod. 👍

I can live with only 3 curbs on the entire track not being 100% correct. Not sure the 3-D tree-huggers can though. :sly:

Was that '3' curbs or '3d' curbs :dunce:....because, you know, it makes all the difference.....:sly:

3 curbs, not 3D. ;)

Other people said that the physics are more or less the same as in the TT demo, it was just easier to drive when you used R3 tires.

Agree:tup: But I want to se McLaren F1 in action...

The F1 sounded quite nice driving by in the Enzo clip when in the menus

oh, and expect more vids from Mimaximax then, if he won a demo disc :D
Guess he is a better driver than his recent Enzo video indicated :p

Don't expect anything from it, one of the GTRP member's has won a demo disc too and describes it here: http://www.gtrp.de/forums/showpost.php?p=1324683&postcount=341

- there is "Prologue" written on the cover
- copyright date is 2007
- there are things like "Drive online with 16 cars on track" or "New tracks like Daytona" written on a note inside the cover
- looks like it's a demo for GT5 Prologue (would be pretty ridiculous ), but he didn't play it yet so it could be a surprise ...though I wouldn't count on it :)

He said 'some' curbs are not correct, don't know where you have the 'three' from?

:odd:

Actually ein paar Mängel in Sachen Curbs = there are a few (small) issues with the curbs. So he doesn't say they are wrong, just not 100% correct.

:)

:)

Are you reffering to my translation?

He wrote:
"Also schon Curb #3 der nicht orijinoool ist..."

Directly translated this means:
"So Curb number 3 that's not original..."

The # stands for "number" as far as I know.

I'm refering to this (which is a bit more general than just curb #3).

Sicherlich gibt's ein paar Mängel in Sachen Curbs.
(it's a little bit hard to translate, but) =
For sure, there are a few issues with the curbs.

:)

There was a discussion about the other curbs too, he definitely meant that there are three curbs that aren't like on the original track.

That's the point, there was a discussion about those curbs before 👍

Edit:
Haha you're right, about the three curbs.

It's like at least 3 curbs are wrong.

My bad. :dunce:

There's a curb that I noticed that was "wrong" in GT4 and it seems it still remains that way in GT5. I dont know about the others.

The one im talking about (right curb) appears at 2:14 in this video, where you can see its possible to "cut" the corner because of the flat portion of the curb.

And the GT5 version appears at 2:20 in this video, where you cant cut the corner. At least, in real life you probably wouldnt.

Pausing both videos where you say to shows that the corner isn't 'wrong' but that the pavement has been moved to where the grass starts on the real track. In other words the curb is more to the right in the GT5 version and instead of having the concrete or brick on the inside of the curb then grass, it's grass then curb then pavement, not grass then concrete/brick then curb then pavement. You get it? You can notice how rounded the track is on the top video, then look at that same section on the GT5 video and see that instead of there being brick/concrete, that section in GT5 is curb.

I didnt say the corner was wrong, I said the curb was wrong. With this i meant, different from the real one. Im not quite sure if I understood what you said, but if its supposed to represent the real thing and in the end its different, its wrong. No matter if theres more pavement, or less grass, etc.

Not that this is a big issue in a track like Nurbrgring. As i said, i noticed this a long time ago and only posted it today because people were talking about curbs beeing different from the real ones and so on.

The next thing to nitpick is, i think there is a couple tree that are about two feet from where they should be!! Enough of the nitpicking already!

I get what he is speaking about, in the real course there is a slightly paved section at the beginning of the slalom section early on, that a car can drive across, in GT5 it is not there, well it seems that they purposely edited that out, to keep from giving people ideas of corner cutting, I doubt anyone would use that in real life as it's probably detrimental since you can lose control and kill yourself, in a game well we've seen what happens then, pause then restart.

You use that curb in real life, it's flat and part of the racing line.

some pics of the demo stations at the Nurb, there seems to be 2 sets of them, 12 or so units in this building and another 2 somewhere on the track based around a truck?

Gt5 seems like is going to sale big in Germany, mainly because of the attention the game has been getting from this Demo.

The GT franchise always sold good here.
One of the biggest Gran Turismo communities (if not the biggest) after GTP is the German Gran Turismo Racing Point (www.gtrp.de).
