Tony Romo + Jessica Simpson = best thing he could've possibly done for his career. Romo reminds me of Steve Young, except suckier.

More help wanted.

Mike Shanahan has reportedly been fired.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3800768

I know it's been 10 years, but I thought he was untouchable after those back to back Super Bowls.

The NFL is more and more about "what have you done for me lately?"

At this rate, coaches will be fired for losing in the first round of the playoffs.

That's bad...specially for the Broncos. They no longer have one of their greatest coaches ever... :banghead:

As for the playoffs, my reckoning is that Matt Schaub has had an excellent season with the Falcons. He's lead them to the playoffs and I think they're the the team best suited for a Super Bowl run (honestly!). Philly, Indy and Baltimore to go through to the Divisionals too!

Tony Romo is the NFL version of MLBs Alex Rodrigrez, all World early season but come crunch time INVISABLE. :dunce:

That would be Matt Ryan. Schaub plays for the Texans.

Is anyone rooting for the Eagles? I kind of feel bad for them after they lost to the stupid Pats. I like McNabb and hope he gets a ring someday... unless it means beating the dolphins, of course.

It was Matt Ryan, sorry. NFL claimed he was on the Atlanta Falcons then said he was on the Texans. Also hoping San Diego lose! (I'm a huge hater of them, only the Giants exceeds my hate for them, as I'm a Denver fan.)

jce
you started out good in that quote but as soon as you got to favre you started talking rubbish. Romo and favre are having basically a similar season so i put them together right behind manning and brady. Palmer and ben are behind favr and romo.

The qb list is in 4 sections...

Brady - p. Manning
favre - romo
ben - palmer - brees - hasselbeck
everyone else
eli manning (lol a joke)

lolol

^^

Really had to dig for that one. :p

When it comes to QB play, and the numbers speaking for themselves, I think only 2 really matter -

1. Wins

2. Super Bowl Record

Now at times, a good QB can be stuck on mediocre teams (See Dan Marino for most of his career), and a mediocre QB can be propped up by a good team (See Trent Dilfer and the 2000 Ravens). But using those numbers as a guideline, I'm wondering how Romo, Palmer, Brees and Hasselback ever made the list, let alone Romo being on the same level as a shoe in Hall of Fame QB after less than 2 seasons as a starter (When that was originally posted in Nov. of last year).

At this point, I'd take McNabb, Delhomme, or Warner over Tony Romo. At least they can win in December, win playoff games, and have made it to Super Bowls, even if only Warner has managed to win one, and he is 1-1.

Well, the 2000 Ravens only won cause of their power defense. They're play-it-safe offense was an absolute shambles, the defense had Rod Woodson among many others. As they say...the best defense is a good offense. ;)

Wow Atlanta has made 1 good draft pick in there history. Matt Ryan, first quarter of playoff game with Phoenix could have been a disaster,NOT this rookie. No matter what happens second half you gotta be impressed with his preformance. Late game Colts vs Chargers another chapter in these 2 teams playoff meetings, I'm going with the Chargers for the upset.

Damn this Chargers game is crazy! Looks like it'll go into overtime unless Manning does a miracle.

I noticed that NBC is playing music from Sega Sports and the NFL 2K series. That's so cool.

edit: OH SNAP!!!!! Sproles ftw. His run is so funny. He really hauls ass even with the supination and the pidgeon feet. The Colts defense threw that one away completely. You can't win with penalties.

SHOCKS!!!
ARIZONA BEAT ATLANTA AND SAN DIEGO DID SO TO INDIANAPOLIS! (Yay for the Cardinals, boo for the Chargers)

Damn, wtf @ the Ravens. When did their lines get so good?

edit: MAN WTF WITH THE INTERCEPTIONS!

edit again: ANOTHER ONE?! WTF!

edit again again: Okay, so they score and then let the Ravens block the kick. WOW! :banghead:

final edit: Okay, it was a good season but we're done. :indiff: The Dolphins would've easily won without the turnovers. Oh well. :guilty:

Game over, Omnis. Dolphins got blown out 27-9 to Baltimore in South Beach. Sorry, man. Still a great season you all had.

Looks like the Ravens will be the most dreaded draw in playoffs. Starting to look a lot like there Championship Team, Man what a Defense.

I'll tell you what... it's not a bad idea to pick Baltimore to make it to Tampa Bay for the Super Bowl. In fact, I am a bit partisan to the AFC. So Baltimore wouldn't be a bad AFC representative. Let's not give them the win, though. They still have a long way to go between here and the AFC Championship game.

Flacco needs to make more completions. Other than that, we're solid. I say we're as likely as anyone in the AFC to make it to the Superbowl.

Ravens v. Steelers will be one hell of a defensive show. Let's see if they can both make it to the AFC final.

Philly and NYG...I think the defensive front - offensive line battle will be a good one. Also wondering how the Eagles D will be able to cope with Kevin Boss.

Cardinals vs Panthers...Edgerrin James is gonna have a tough game. The run defence may be able to penetrate him. The two-headed backfield of Carolina vs the Cardinals rush defense may or may not go the way of the Cardinals.

Titans and Ravens...Collins of the Titans will be absolutely sabotaged. They'll have to survive on the run, and fortunately they can do just that. I think Cortland Finnegan and Derrick Mason are gonna really battle with each other too. And McClain and McGahee vs Haynesworth and Co. will go the way of the Titans players.

Chargers vs Steelers...Roethlisberger should make it through the Chargers' front seven, though if they go on a strategy to use multiple blitzes, he won't be getting through. I reckon Rivers can beat the Steelers defense...to some extent. And the Chargers punter Mike Scifres will probably be completely destroyed by the Steelers amazing special teams.

Iwatched highlights from the previouse Ravens game, Man they did amazing... (I think...) And saw that the eagles beat the vikings pretty good.

I'm trying so hard to pay attencion to this stuff...

Who is the left defensive end for the Ravens? He schooled Vernon Carey all day. :grumpy: And also, Haloti Ngata literally THREW Samson Satele on a few plays. Our O-line really let us down yesterday. It's just embarrassing when your guards get backed up so far that they hit the running backs, knocking them over.

Ugh...That was a tough game to watch. But it really was an amazing season to be a Dol-fan; nobody in their right mind had any plans for the Dolphins' post-season 6 months ago. Heck, I thought a 6-10 season would be impressive, after last year's fiasco. An 11-5 performance and an AFC East title, while simultaneously knocking out the Pats and Jets in the process, were just extra bonuses.

Hats off to the Ravens (again) for outplaying the 'Fins, although Chad gave it away a few times more than necessary.

Better games this weekend than I expected. I was out and about on Saturday, but managed to catch most of both games on TV's and radio in the various places we were visiting. I watched most of yesterday's games at home (First game was only in the background once it was in the 4th quarter).

I would have expected 4th seeds Arizona and San Diego as 8-8 teams playing 5th seeded teams with much better records to be the losing home teams. But I guess that's why they play the games.

This divisional round normally provides the premier matchups, and this weekend should be no exception. Arizona is likely to get worked over by Carolina, but the other 3 games have the potential of being close matchups.

Go Steelers!!

Ravens > Titans.

I knew the Titans would crumble. Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if the Ravens thumped everyone in the AFC after how they took care the of the Dolphins.

Got to get by the Steelers , this year - Steelers 2 , Ravens - 0

HA Remember where you heard it, Dang Ravens defense is UNREAL! Hope they get to play the Steelers.👍

Sure looks like the Ravens are the Team of Destiny this year.

Card's vs Panthers who ya got in this one?

Did anyone see Ray Lewis on ESPNEWS offering somewhat a sermon praising how good the Ravens were? I didn't see the game because I was out with my parents. Congratulations to the Baltimore Ravens on this win. I'm probably happy since the Titans are my team's (Texans) biggest rival. Baltimore just needs to win one more game, and they'll be packing their bags for Tampa Bay.
