Browns at Eagles tonight for Monday Night Football. If the Browns somehow beat the Eagles, then they will have won on Monday Night Football with three different quarterbacks (which would be a record). Any chance they get by Philadelphia on the road?

It all depends on which Donavon shows up.

Sorry, I take issue with this. First of all, Big Ben didn't fare much better throughout the whole game except the last 2 minutes.

He didn't throw two picks, either, and he played well when it counted.

I'm in South America right now, so I'm not going to attempt to have any opinion on the close TD call in the end of the game as I could only keep up w/ the game on stat tracker as the game wasn't on tv here, though most football writers seem pretty divided on the issue.

Either way, I hope the Ravens get a wild card spot so we can beat them three times this year.

The touchdown call was a bit on the " iffy " side.If you judge by where he was standing once the ball was caught,it's a TD,if you judge by ball location , WELL ????,thats where it gets questionable.The same can be said when a back crosses the goal line with one foot barely crossing the line inside the pylon,but the ball never crosses the line and it's generally called a TD, or this scenario, a reciever leaps to catch a ball,arms outstretched,catching the ball "technically" out of the field of play,but both and or one foot comes down inbounds,and they give it to him,it's basically the same scenario,it's a judgement call by the official. (IMO)

As far as beating the Cleveland Ravens , uuuhhh errrr ohhh, the Baltimore Browns ( :lol::lol::lol: ),ask Modell only he knows who they really are,but I say come on Ray Lewis,we'll put it to you 1 more time just for good measure,I love seeing you lose.

I like the Fins this year, but would you really call Joey Porter and his enormous contract a no name?

I think you missed the reference or my point. Sure, Joey Porter is a rockstar. But the defense plays as a unit. Joey Porter is not the whole defense. It's called the no-name defense because everybody plays so well and with such harmony that no one guy really stands out.

The AFC East is going to come down to the last game, isn't it?

Probably, yeah. Just gotta hope everyone but the 'fins loses.

So long as the Patriots don't make it, I will be satisfied (though I would prefer the New York Brettes to make it). It is sad that the Bills lost again, though. I thought Losman actually played a pretty good game.

Yeah, man. I had high hopes for the bills and the lions. If there are two teams I can't stand, it's the Pats and the Bretts.

The Pro Bowl list should be announced tomorrow or so. From what I've heard on Houston's KTRK Channel 13, Andre Johnson and Mario Williams "should" make the Pro Bowl. I was going to vote in Steve Slaton for the job he's put out for my Texans. I always felt he should have been utilized more often in the running game. Especially with Ahman Green out, Slaton will have no problem in the running game. The Texans need better rushing defense as well as giving their runners a chance to go up the field for more yardage.

How have some fans responded? One fan said he was not satisfied with mediocrity. To me, we have to instill that we can compete in a powerful conference like the AFC and a tough division like the AFC South. I think most people believe we have a competitive team, but not yet competing against teams like the Titans, the Colts, the Steelers, the Patriots, and some of the better NFC teams. "The Calvin Murphy Show" here in Houston had the Rockets' all-timer talk about how the Titans completely disrespected the Texans. So rather than a very long field goal, they went for it on 4th and 3. I'd expect this from Jack del Rio for Jacksonville, but not from the Titans' coach. A good thing about that game was that we limited Tennessee to field goals. In fact, we scored the only touchdown the whole 13-12 game. There was a common statement about how come we came into this season in this poor shape and not competiting. Fact is... we're not THERE yet. We have a good team with some good players. However, we're not a second coming of the Houston Oilers. We don't have Warren Moon and Earl Campbell with Bum Phillips as the head cheese. We're more like... let's say, the Boise State of the NFL. A talented mid-major in the NFL. We're still the bridesmaid. And it isn't like we're going to be kings of the AFC South in the near future. To me, the line of succession is:

AFC Wild Card -> AFC South Clinch -> AFC Champions -> Super Bowl Champions

The best we can do is take on Oakland on the road and Chicago at home [on Fan Appreciation Day]. Thing is, are we going to take the Oakland game like it's a trap game? The best case for my Texans is finishing 9-7. Really, I'm pulling for 9-7 because we can have our first proper winning season. Don't you want a winning season for teams that aren't doing very well?

Coming up, Cleveland at Philadelphia. Should be a nice match.

It's official- Andre Johnson and Mario Williams will be STARTERS in the Pro Bowl. Mario Williams will make the Pro Bowl after not having made it last year. My congratulations to these two boys. I wanted to vote Steve Slaton, but it was too late.

Other Texans will go to the Pro Bowl, but as alternates. They include the following:

* Owen Daniels
* Chester Pitts
* Vonta(?) Leach
* Steve Slaton
* DeMeco Ryans

I still wanted to vote Steve Slaton into the Pro Bowl, but I'm pretty sure he could be surpassed by a few other good players in the NFL. Maybe I am such a running fan that I personally like players like Adrian Peterson, LaDanian Tomlinson, and people like that. But congratulations to all who have made the Pro Bowl as either starters or alternatives.

...that was was like twelve years ago. What's the confusion?

but I say come on Ray Lewis,we'll put it to you 1 more time just for good measure,I love seeing you lose.

I sincerely hope it comes to that point. :D

A Ravens fan by your avatar , and you don't like Ray Lewis , WOW. As a player , I will grant you that Ray Lewis is good , it's just too bad about his off field ***** and ****** and he bought himself out of it.

Oh no, I just meant I'd like to see the two teams play again. I do like Ray (I don't think there's a single person in Baltimore who doesn't). 'Course his contract is up this year, so we'll see if he's a Raven next season or not...

Slingin' Sammy Baugh was one of the greatest NFL players of all time when he played for the Washington Redskins in the NFL. But before his great success in the NFL, he was a star player for once National Champions, Texas Christian University.

How will you remember Sammy Baugh? Meanwhile, the Colts will play at the Jaguars tonight. So two questions: who will you take in this match, and how will you remember Sammy Baugh?

Some kid in my middle school PE class was named Samuel Baugh (or some other spelling, but pronounced the same). I remember Sammy Baugh because every day for role call, our coach would go, "Slingin', Sammy Baugh!"

Colts won the game. I think it was a 31-24 win.

[UPDATE] I can now confirm it was a 31-24 win as the Colts will make their seventh-successive appearance in the playoffs. Great job. I heard that Jacksonville got sacked on 2nd and Goal with 12 seconds left in the game. I don't really watch non-Sunday games unless my Texans are involved. But good job to the Colts on this win.

I tried watching it on the NFL.com/Live thing. I just have one comment to make.

NFL.com/Live freakin' sucks.

What an exercise in frustration. They'd show 2:00 of the game and then go to some analyst to talk about the game that was CURRENTLY IN PLAY! There are no words.

You know when it's half-time and you sit there and watch the dudes talk and give scores but you're thinking "come on, come on, let's get back to the game already"? That's all this is. You get 2 minutes of playing and then it cuts to some fat guy talking about what had already happened in the game they just cut from, or how great Peyton Manning is, or who might win? HINT: We'd know if you let us watch it.

Ugh.

My Texans will go to the Black Hole to take on Oakland. If we were a more promising team, then this would be a trap game before ending our season against Chicago. So the rest of the way, the worst we can do is 7-9. The best is 9-7. I'm pulling for 9-7 because I want the Texans to be able to have something to work on for next season. Maybe we'll get finer recruits as well as some talented pro players looking to be traded or on the free agent market. I would love for my Texans to hopefully compete for at least an AFC Wild Card. We'll have to be either very lucky or very powerful to win the AFC South.

Only one game tomorrow night- Baltimore Ravens at Dallas Cowboys. I'll leave it to Zrow to give a pick for us. Any chance Dallas upsets Baltimore?

More games happen Sunday, including...
* New Orleans at Detroit
* Miami at Kansas City
* San Francisco at St. Louis
* Buffalo at Denver
* Atlanta at Minnesota
* Carolina at New York Giants <<< Sunday Night Football

...and a little game involving Pittsburgh at Tennessee. Enjoy this weekend's games!

Does anyone here know who got into the playoffs and who got booted out? because I want to know if the Panthers, Steelers, Titans, Jets, Giants, and Patriots made it.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, what a nail-biter! Go Dolphins! That was crazy. My whole face is all hot and reddened. Too bad the Patriots stomped the Cardinals. I really hope Buffalo and Miami win next week. :D

Also, Go Seahawks!

Oh, and Chris Johnson is a BALLER.

Whoops, sorry, I was in Richmond, Virginia this weekend so I didn't get a chance to make the pick. I would have probably picked Dallas, given the circumstances.

But eff the circumstances - we won! The defense never let up on Romo, who made some seriously, seriously questionable plays that really surprised me (like the throw that led two his second pick - what was that about?) Derrick Mason showed up to play and didn't quit even with a hurt arm. Ed Reed had two picks, par for the course these days. Flacco got sacked five times, which is a credit to that defensive line, but didn't throw any interceptions, which is a credit to Flacco. Sam Koch is one of the best punters in the league, and that's without that ballin' fake field goal.

That was one the greatest games we've ever won - definitely the best of the past few seasons. I was beside myself last night, and I'm still psyched about this win.

No 9-7 opportunity for us as we just basically played down to Oakland. Our four-game winning streak ends, and a chance at a proper winning season is basically over. It's 27-16 south of 30 seconds left in the game with my Texans driving. But this is a damned shame against a losing team.

[UPDATE] It's official. We lose 27-16 at Oakland. Beating Chicago will determine whether or not we match last season's record. It now means I'll have to continually see highlights of how Oakland is so cool as if my Texans are in the same waters as Detroit (which lost 42-7 to New Orleans today). So is the life of a Texans fan...

Yaaaaaaaaaay! The Jets lost to Seattle. Man the AFC East is CRAZY.

WHEW , The Falcons held on to take advantage of a very sloppy looking Vikings team. But it still counts were in the PLAYOFFS!!!:sly:

Frankly, I wouldn't mind Dolphins v. Falcons in the Superbowl.

Dolphins vs. Falcons... that would be an all American Southeast Super Bowl... to take place in the American Southeast (Tampa Bay hosting this season's Super Bowl). Not that I'm biased, but it would be cool.
