Why does PETA even care? I've yet to meet a PETA supporter who was even remotely a football fan.

I heard the T-Pain Dolphins song on the radio the other day, and I wanted to inflict pain on him. The old song may be corny (and borrowed), but after a Dolphins' touchdown, hearing 60,000 others sing it makes you proud to be a part of history.

Because he ran a dogfighting ring, is held responsible for the brtual deaths of multiple dogs, and is in the media spotlight.

If that doesn't sound like the perfect mix for PETA to get some media coverage I don't know what is.

I mean, no one from PETA likes chicken, but I see them at KFC headquarters all the time. :sly:

So far my Vikes look promising, although normally pre-season never reflects our team in the regular season it is nice to know our 3rd string can beat Indy's 3rd string.

My Texans will take the field at Arrowhead Pond for their first Preseason match later tonight. Fans here in Houston look forward and are hopeful of a playoff berth this season. So while many people think we're going to finish 6-10 or 8-8 again, all my Texans can do is prove people wrong as best as they can. Can't wait to see my Texans in action as they take on the Chiefs!

Good luck to your teams as well!

Sage Rosenfels is a good QB though. He makes some dumb decisions sometimes, but he's a great passer.

The Vick discussion in philly is hilarious. Take a look at the Philly Craigslist. "We don't want Vick. He'll spread herpes to our women."

The Texans won 16-10 (I believe) at a rainy Kansas City (MO). Rex Grossman will be out for a month with a hamstring injury. Up next in the preseason... at home against the New Orleans Saints on Aug. 22.

Rams 2009-2010 superbowl season started last night. Wasn't too impressed but we won.
Yeah, its going great.

The St. Louis Rams expect to be without Marc Bulger for at least two weeks after the veteran quarterback broke the pinky finger on his throwing hand during practice Monday morning.

The freak injury, described by the team as a non-displaced fracture, occurred during a center exchange. Bulger will not wear a cast while the injury heals.

Kyle Boller becomes the Rams' starter while Bulger recovers. Bulger, 32, did not miss a game to injury last season or in 2006. He missed four games in 2007.

God, our O-Line sucks so bad they can't even protect the QB from guys that aren't supposed to hit him. ;)

Why can't we break out the old yellow/blue jerseys?
Bulger's blood keeps staining them.

It was great to see Orton toss three picks in his first chance to show us what post-Culter life is going to be like. YAY us!

Guys, Sean Smith is THE TRUTH. Miami's defense is going to be killer.

Speaking of fight songs, the old 1978 Steeler polka by Jimmy Psihoulis is still my favorite...

...but I do love this new one:

My point is this; it's not as if its really going to convert anyone, it only creates media filler.

I think Favregate is hilarious as can be. No one is talking about what it means for the team, or whether Favre can even play anymore. Nope, all anyone is talking about is how much media-whoring the announcement is, which ironically makes the announcement even more huge.

A few NFL Preseason games are up tonight, including the Cincinnati Bengals tangling with New England Patriots. In non-playing news, Plaxico Burress will spend two years in the pokey/slammer because of his gun possession deal.

Now if they can just get him to play defense and throw passes to himself they might actually be decent this year.

Tonight on FOX will be the first look at the Cowboys' new stadium. Be sure it check it out on TV if you get a chance to see it.

Lol @ Cowboys scoreboard fail.

Matt Ryan is incredible. I hope our D and handle him and his O on week 1.

My Texans will host the New Orleans Saints tonight. I can assure you that we will NOT have a situation like that punt last night at the New Cowboys Stadium. I wished I could get a better view of that place, had it not been for some of the NFL on Fox's big graphics blocking things at times.

But back to my Texans. People will always remember my Texans as the team that passed on Vince Young and Reggie Bush. To some people, some people think Mario Williams have fared better than R. Bush or V. Young. So we got ourselves a Texas/Louisiana battle at 8:00 PM EDT.

Even with all the talk about the fight between Demeco Ryans and Jeremy Shockey during a practice session, the Texans lost their battle against the Saints, losing 38-14. Up next for the Texans... at home against Minnesota on Aug. 31.

Undefeated! /Mercury Morris

We played an uglyass game tonight though. Jeez. Also, Joe Buck and Fox are terrible.

Joe Buck needs to stick to baseball. That's where monotonous play by play callers belong. Can he ever be forgiven for butchering the call on David Tyree's catch in the Super bowl vs the Patriots.

Best announcers are in college football, but the Monday Night Football crew is pretty good in my opinion. The main (not sure what else to call them) CBS guys are pretty good.

Al Michaels and Cris Colinsowrth on NBC are OK, but I've never really been a fan of Michael's commentary.

Madden & Summerall = best ever though. I wish Madden 2010 had their commentary as DLC. I'd pay $10 for it to replace the trash that is in the game.

First we fire Mike Shanahan, then we trade Jay Cutler and now B marsh is acting the fool. What a season it’s going to be. :scared:

Brandon Marshall is not staging a holdout. He is not about to be traded. And he has not been suspended.

So the drama behind his absence from the Broncos' practice Thursday may not have been all that dramatic, even as Marshall's display during practice Wednesday created another episode to "As Brandon's World Turns."

In a report aired by KMGH-7 from Wednesday's practice, Marshall was nonchalant during drills and was caught punting the ball away when the drill was finished.

Perhaps realizing the video of his behavior may not help him draw interest from other teams, Marshall quickly went into spin control during an interview late Thursday night on ESPN's "NFL Live" show.

"I'm not going to do whatever it takes (to be traded)," Marshall said. "I'm not out there trying to be a distraction to the team. Unfortunately, (Wednesday) I kind of let my frustration get the best of me. I definitely want a fresh new start with everything that is going on, not just this year but in past years. It's been a lot. Unfortunately, I let my emotions get the best of me and I apologize to everyone for that."

Although Marshall did not practice Thursday, he was at the team's headquarters during the session. It appears Marshall was held out for punitive reasons for his conduct during practice Wednesday.

"Me punting the ball was definitely frustration," Marshall told ESPN. "It was an error in judgment. There was a lot of frustration yesterday coming out of a meeting."

In another drill, Marshall did not take his turn in running routes or catching passes, instead accepting the task of using a blocking dummy to knock receivers off their route. At the end of this drill, the KMGH video caught Marshall batting a ball away.

Marshall also implied some of the video, which included him sitting on pads before practice started, was taken out of context.

"I'm not going to talk about it," said Broncos coach Josh McDaniels. "There's a number of reasons why a guy might not be ready and able to go out here, and without going into detail on everyone's situation, it's either my decision or our training staff's decision that the guy can't go out here and do what we would ask him to do."

Marshall has let it be known he is an unhappy employee. He is so unhappy with the $2.198 million salary remaining on his contract, and the negative publicity he has received for his off-field incidents the past two years, he has asked to be traded.

The Broncos are not engaged in trade talks or contract negotiations. Marshall reiterated Broncos owner Pat Bowlen told him in June that he would be traded. Bowlen has never publicly discussed the meeting.

If Marshall is not traded?

"I have to be professional about it and get ready for the season with the Broncos and go out there and put the team in the best position to win," Marshall said. "I think we have a great group of guys and have a great chance of winning."

Broncos' Marshall suspended

Englewood, CO (Sports Network) - Denver Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall has been suspended by the club for conduct detrimental to the team, it was announced Friday.

The team issued no other details, including the length of the suspension. The Denver Post reported it comes after a "display of unprofessionalism" during Wednesday's practice, when Marshall was indifferent in running drills, did not run routes or makes catches in another drill and, in one instance, punted a ball away rather than give it to a ball boy.

Did Brandon start to beat other players' wives?

My Texans won't go to work until this coming Monday night against the Minnesota Vikings (and that thug Jared(?) Allen). Then after that, I think we'll be in Tampa Bay next Friday night. Feel free to share some of your favorite rookies trying to make your favorite team.

Brandon Marshall is such a loser. What a terrible offseason he had. He's a great WR too.

Michael Vick will be effective this year if they can squeeze him in some trick plays without disturbing the offense.
