The Bears, more of a gut feeling than anything. I just think Peppers is going to take Vick out of the game with a bone-jarring sack. Can't count out the Bears, because their run game is really good and I don't favour the Eagles run defence.

Sit back and ponder this:

WR: Braylon Edwards, Michael Crabtree, Ted Ginn Jr., Josh Morgan
TE: Vernon freakin' Davis.
RB: Frank Gore and Kendall Hunter(rookie)

A stout offensive line, a run-stopping defense, and an almost automatic Special Teams unit. I see a bunch of 1st rounders and pro-bowlers. Not to mention, this team is also the choice of many experts as being the 2nd best team in the NFC (maybe in the NFL as well).

Without an elite QB, this team is a lock for the division and has every indacation of being 2nd seed and a first-round BYE in the playoffs this year. The path is set for an NFC Championship battle with the much-favored Green Bay Packers.

Imagine this year's 49ers with a top-tier QB. How would you rate their chances?

It's not out of the realm of sanity to imagine that the Colts end the season with the #1 pick in the NFL Draft. That leaves two options: trade the pick or trade Manning. I wouldn't be surprised to see the 49ers on either end of that trade.

Don't tell me that Peyton Manning is untradeable because everyone else considered Joe Montana to be untradeable after 4 superbowls.

I've been a fan of the 49ers my whole life! I had a poster of Joe Montana in my room as a kid and Jerry Rice was always my favorite. This was in spite of my LA Rams fan father.

Fact: the last time the 49ers won the superbowl was on my 8th birthday: Jan 29, 1995. :D

One of the best birthdays ever had. 👍

My teams FTR: Dodgers, 49ers, Clippers, Kings (NHL), Stanford and Notre Dame (NCAA Football), LA Galaxy (but who cares about MLS?)...

That's awesome :) I remember watching that Superbowl, while I was young I grew up watching Football even though it was always #2 to me behind Baseball I loved the 49ers. Our whole neighborhood watched every game together during those glory years. I don't watch much outside of Baseball and football.. Warriors occasionally and have been trying to get into Hockey a bit with my dad with the Sharks. 👍

Nobody can afford Manning. Alex Smith isn't so bad. You have to remember that this guy has had a different offensive coordinator each season he's been on the team. Now that Harbaugh is there they have stability. That said, I bet they take a QB first round (jones, rg3).

Well, the 49ers are breaking ground on their new stadium soon so anything is possible. I wouldn't lobby for or expect a trade for Manning, but if you look around the league, San Francisco would appear to be his best option outside of Indy.

San Fran or the Fins. He'll probably go to SF just like Harbaugh though.

Anyway, whoever gets him is going to have to renegotiate his contract. They literally wouldn't be able to afford him.

Does your team need a Defensive Tackle? The reason why I ask is because Albert Haynesworth is on the market, as he was released today by the Patriots.

Haynesworth is overrated. If Peyton Manning was moved it would be most likely an NFC team, like San Fran. The only way Manning goes to an AFC team is if the Dolphins give up a lot of draft picks, and Cameron Wake.

/Fixed.

Assuming he'd get moved at all. I still doubt that will ever happen.

Is it sad that I'm glad we're 4-4 right now and not 3-5? Somehow being .500 at this point in the season isn't as bad as it could of been...then again we could of been 7-1. So fragile this thing called NFL Football.

Albert Haynesworth is now OFF the market, and... my Texans will get to play against him this weekend (granted he starts). Haynesworth is now with the Buccaneers.

Good riddance. One of the most overrated and overpaid players ever. He stands along with people like Ryan Leaf in that aspect. How much did the Bucs pay for him?

Haynesworth is just a big ugly. I lost respect for him when he started stomping on people's heads. He almost got his ass whooped by Richie Incognito on MNF in week 1.

So if you're cut late enough in the season (past the trade deadline), you're a free agent?

Really, who wants someone who's been dropped by two teams?

So tired of defensive players whining about how they're used in a 3-4/4-3 defence...if your coach asks you to kick a field goal, you bleeping do it, if you're a paid professional.

Exactly. A friend of mine said it best, "They mind as well put me on the field, because at least I'll work 100% for my salary."

The first Thursday Night Football of the season is tonight. We got Oakland at San Diego tonight. It's NorCal going down to SoCal. Who you got winning this California clash tonight?

Yeah, I forget who I picked . I have a joke: Miami police have charged the Dolphins for littering after fans reported seeing garbage on the field. The charges were later dropped when it was discovered that it was just the Dolphins on the field.

Florida is nicknamed the Sunshine State. Unfortunately for Tampa Bay, the sun was shining on the Texans all day, as we led (to use racing expressions) flag-to-flag 37-9. The very first play from scrimmage from the Texans was a deep pass to Jacoby Jones that went straight to the house. Sadly, the extra point was blocked. Tampa Bay just seemed absolutely off. We'll gladly take the win into our Bye week, though.

That's right- no Texans next week. So I won't brag about a win or complain over a loss for this coming week. What has YOUR team done today?

Oh nothing much, my team just happen to beat the best team in the AFC. Even after giving the Ravens both of their touchdowns (one by dropping an easy pic, and the other by having a million penalties to extend a drive) the Hawks beat the Ravens.

And even though we won, I still thing the game had poor officiating at times. Deserving Baltimore penalties went uncalled, and many questionable calls on the Hawks came without justification. And multiple times the ref's got the players #'s wrong. I mean, how hard can it be to read a number? One penalty was called on a number that does not exist on our roster. Seriously? That means the ref guessed? That doesn't make a call look good at all. All around the league officiating has seriously dropped off this year.

But I won't let that get to me this week because we are victorious. Great effort my Lynch, as always.

Agreed. The officiating in the Steelers game was pretty horrible; they called about five penalties in total and missed about 10. There were a couple of pass interference penalties committed by the Bengals but they weren't called.

Vikings at Packers TONIGHT!

The Frozen Tundra is the battleground as the Packers try to remain unbeaten. Minnesota, meanwhile, has other ideas. Who you taking tonight- Vikings on the road or the Packers at home?

Taking the Packers. Their passing offense is great. Minnesota main offense is Adrian Peterson. I just think Packers will win.

Washington... How do you lose to the :censored:ing DOLPHINS? Pathetic.

Unfortunately the fins are better than 0-7. The Skins are exactly who I thought they were. You have Rex Grossman and John Beck at QB. That says enough.
