I wouldn't be at all surprised if most, if not all, of that is his real hair. If you have it naturally curvy/wavy you can do things like that.

Now to try to figure out how to grow a Bob Ross afro....

My Texans will trim down their roster as we play our final game against Tampa Bay. Then after that... we host those Colts on September 12th. Good luck to all teams playing tonight or anytime thereafter!

Well my Jets finally signed Revis. He didn't get 16 mil a year but he did get 32 mil guaranteed which is better than the 16 mil a year. The owner and coach flew down this weekend to talk to him. This is good but they cut FB Tony Richardson to "save" money. This is an uncapped year and the Jets are worth about 1 billion dollars. That was stupid the same as getting rid of Thomas Jones and Alan Faneca. Rex Ryan was complaining about the lack of leaders on the team and they go and cut Richardson? Doesn't make sense to me. Maybe I'm a cynical Jets fan but this doesn't bode well for the season. Oh well I don't care as long as we beat the Fins this year.

All of our original Texans are gone as Kris Brown was replaced in favor of Neil Rackers. I think (and this is insane to me) it's sad that Dan Orlovsky is still part of the team, but John David Booty was cut.

Also... rumor has it that we MIGHT pick up Matt Leinart. I've also found out that the Texans were the first to contact Leinart when he was released from the Cardinals. This guy is a starting QB. While I think he would improve the Texans' offense (if we did pick him up), I don't know if I'd want two QBs with starting QB potential to battle for starts. Matt Schaub is our man. Adding another Matt would be pretty sweet. Not to mention two solid quarterbacks.

Can you feel it, people? New season about to kick off proper this weekend. Get excited!

It's not really a rumor.

And he is hardly starting QB material, he couldn't even cut it in Arizona with plenty of weapons.

Matt Leinart could start for the bills. But he succckkksss! He got cut because his passes get receivers killed. Larry Fitz don't play that.

Just learned just now that he's on a one-year deal to be the backup QB for the Texans. We'll just how to see how the Texans utilize the USCal Trojan. He might just prove a solid backup QB for the Texans. He'll have to deliver to players like Andre Johnson, Steve Slaton, and a guy I'm starting to like for the Texans- Arian Foster.

Enjoy the Houston heat, Matt Leinart! :D

Pretty soon, the new season will begin. Best of luck to all teams (including my Texans, who I'm VERY excited for).

My dad and I were sharing a few jokes about the "new" Seahawks under Pete Carrol. At one point my dad said the only problem is that we have a lot of new guys, but then we were like, 'hey wait, Carrol is used to college, all he gets is new guys. He looses his best players after their 4th year and gets new guys that he shapes into great ones" So the joke there was that he will only sign 4 year deals, and dump every player after that.

Can you hear it? Can you feel it? The first Sunday of NFL action is today! My Texans (and their tough schedule) will try to figure out the Colts at the top of the hour. I hear my Texans are 1-15 against the Colts all-time! We HAVE to beat them at one point. We get them here in Houston today, then at the Colts on Monday Night in November.

We're all undefeated again! That is... until 16 finally fall. Enjoy the 2010 season, people!

Holy crap, Vontae wasn't playing when he said "stay tuned" for this new Dolphins defense. What a treat to watch.

edit: OK, so they had their miscues and whatnot, but overall a huge improvement over Pasqualoni. Congrats to the Fins and the Texans for finally winning their opener and finally beating the Colts respectively.

As Mark Vandermeer(?) (Texans play-by-play announcer) would say: "ROCK AND ROLL! Touchdown Texans!"

Arian Foster is the truth! We beat the Colts for the second time ever. Arian Foster had some 230+ rushing yards. Only O.J. Simpson had a better rushing performance with 250 yards back in 1973. The D-Line and some of the linebackers were solid. However, that secondary HAS to improve. I know we're playing Peyton Manning, but the secondary pass coverage could have been better. But still, they played like they WANTED it.

I don't think Texans fans have EVER been this excited. Even the Texans' Facebook fan page is jacked. I mean, this was a HUGE success. New swagger in H-Town for the Texans! Longtime Houston sports fans still miss the Oilers, but the Texans need to sustain this level of intensity to make a playoff run and have their best-ever season. This is a GREAT start for the Texans.

How are your teams doing, GTP?

31-6. That's how we are doing. As Steve Raible would say, "Touchdown Seahawks!"

My dad told me that a lot of people picked the 49ers to win the division, but after a performance like that, I can't see how the Seahawks won't pull it off.

I admit, the first quarter was all San Fran, but then the second quarter came around and we never looked back. 31 un-answered points. Defensive line really stepped up and held Frank Gore to just bits and pieces here or there, no big plays like he's used to.

Even ol' Matt Hassleback got a touchdown run to start us off.

Dante Whitner wiped out on Beast Beach yesterday:

Brought back memories from his last trip to Beast Mountain.

Let's do this for the new season-

Ravens at Jets and Chargers at Chiefs BOTH tonight! Who do you have winning? I want to go for the Ravens (who my Texans will play against on Monday Night later this season) in the first match, and I think I'd pick the Chargers in the second game. So I'm picking the road teams tonight. How about you all?

Juck the Fets. Hope they get crushed by Ray Lewis and pals.

Thoughts on week 1.

-Great job Houston!
-Steelers beat Atlanta without Ben...8th straight first week win to start season.
-That Detroit call was wrong, but right according to rules. I think it's CLEAR he had possession. But the ground made it pop out...well it is the Lions.
-Patriots with Wes back looked great. Moss won't be a Pat next season! Rams?
-Niners looking to have another disappointing season. I can't believe they still think Alex Smith is their QB.
-They said Kolb will start when he returns in Philly, but Vick looked great. He still got that crazy Michael Vick speed that defenses hate.
-Bradford is still a rookie, but I like his potential. He threw 55 pass attempts with Jackson in the backfield. Kind of odd. We weren't afraid to use Sam. Clayton looked great, but a crucial drop cost us. We had a Leon Lett moment they didn't show on TV.
-Dallas wanted to lose that game.

For purely fantasy reasons I am pulling for the Jets and the Chiefs. I need Cotchery to pull in about 40 fantasy points for me to win in one of my leagues.

During the broadcast, especially in the pregame, the voice over guys were saying that the niners were impressed by Smith last season and were looking to build into a great one this year. Dunno if they still think that, but we'll see.

Well my Jets took it on the chin. The defense played well enough to win. They only gave up 10 points but the offense was terrible. They have got to play better if they the Jets hope to have a winning season.

Your defense played like crap. All those penalties, what? Kyle Wilson is gonna get abused all season long. Also, Kris Jenkins is out. Again. If that guy wants to walk when he's an old man he's gotta stop killin that buffet.

Please 10 points is ten points. Half of the first downs they got came off of penalties. Besides it just one game. Rex Ryan should have put Revis on Boldin to keep Wilson from getting roasted. I think he'll play better as the season goes on. To be honest I don't care what the Jets do as long as they beat the Dolphins.

Yeah, we'll see. I can't believe some of those Ravens plays either. I bet you hit the ceiling when that guy caught that punt and ran backwards into the endzone.

You're definitely right about that offense though. SOJ.

Well, I think the AFC East will ultimately come down to the Jets and the Dolphins. I'm pretty sure Omnis is looking forward to 9/26/2010 at the Jets, then 12/12/2010 vs. the Jets. That's unless the Patriots somehow have that string of dominance like when they won every game of the season... until losing to the Giants at Super Bowl XLII. And yes, the AFC East DEFINITELY goes through Miami.

The novelty here in Houston is that the Colts are dead last in the AFC South. It's like when some (switching to college briefly) called the University of Houston as the Big XII South champions just because they beat Oklahoma State and Texas Tech. Of course, beat that team called the University of Texas and THEN call yourself Big XII South champs. Anyhow, back to the Texans. The one thing I'm concerned more with is in the Texans is consistency. Great teams are great teams because of consistency. You learn to win, then learn to win often. In times of defeat, you play strong despite tasting defeat. Until the Texans can prove to be consistent, the win over Indy will seem like a fluke. We're going up to the Redskins this coming Sunday for an afternoon game. The Texans have a pretty tough East Coast swing this season- (road games in order) at Redskins, at Jets, and at Eagles. Doesn't get any tougher than that as far as East Coast teams are concerned.

Aren't you glad the NFL is back? :) Bring on Week 2!
