Sometimes, it's okay to be a hater. Wednesday Night Rivalry is tonight, and tonight features four games, one of which is on NBCSN. Maybe I can interest you in hockey games like these:

* WPG Jets at TOR Maple Leafs
* STL Blues at CHI Blackhawks (NBCSN Wednesday Night Rivalry)
* PIT Penguins at VAN Canucks
* FLA Panthers at ANA Ducks

Enjoy some hockey tonight, mates!

* STL Blues at CHI Blackhawks (NBCSN Wednesday Night Rivalry)
To be quite honest. Not a very good game in my opinion.

1st Period
- Hawks score more than Notes.
- A few awkard goals that not much can be done about.

2nd Period
- Blues pick up the pace a bit.
- Hawks slow down.

3rd Period
- Both teams play a bit evenly.
- Hawks control more in my opinion
- Score is tied up.

OT
- A LOT OF CHANCES TO SCORE
- Tarasenko bangs it in to end his over 1 minute long shift.

THOUGHTS
- 3v3 is really cool. But why in the hell are they forechecking playing a 2-1 defense so hard in the Off. Zone when all that does is open up a 2 on 1 straight down the ice? I see this so much and that is on the players.

St. Louis won 6-5 in a crazy game. Chicago put a five spot on St. Louis in the 1st Period to be up 5-1. St. Louis man'd up and put up four goals to tie the game after two periods. Sixty minutes and three periods weren't enough. And in Overtime, St. Louis scored the winning goal. Offense aplenty. Unfortunately for Chicago, it was the Blues who came on the winning end of this one.

Congratulations to the other winners on this night.

I tend to like the St. Louis Blues' uniforms the best of all NHL teams. Maybe it's because of the simplistic blue and gold colors. That new alternate premier jersey looks great! That is... unless you hate the St. Louis Blues.

In other news, Patrick Kane seems vindicated of rape allegations. The charges against him have been dropped.

A number of games are on tonight, including the Nashville Predators paying a visit to RedDragon's Minnesota Wild. Two playoff teams from last season tangling tonight in Minnesota. I counted a total of nine games including NSH at MIN that I mentioned.

Congratulations to any other winners I may have skipped mentioning, but here is a rundown of tonight's action from games completed up to the time of this post:

* In Washington, D.C.; the Washington Captials were all over the Boston Bruins to the tune of a 4-1 victory.

* It was also 4-1 in Buffalo as the Tampa Bay Lightning thunderstruck the Buffalo Sabres.

* Another 4-1 result came in Montreal as the Canadiens took down the New York Islanders.

* The Winnipeg Jets and Ottawa Senators needed a Shootout to determine who the better team was on this night. In Ottawa by a score of 3-2, Ottawa prevailed over Winnipeg.

* The Nashville Predators went into the Minnesota Wild and won 3-2 at the Wild.

Congratulations again to any other winners beyond the time of this post.

Literally 1 word to describe the loss to Nashville: bollocks. Points are points are points and it's disappointing that we couldn't grab the 2 on offer tonight

The Red Wings beat the Maple Leafs 2-1 in OT yesterday.
I guess it's time to start posting the link to the Wild Car standings like I did in the last thread. The season is still young, but its still a good idea to keep track of the playoff races now. At this point of the year, it is still very bunched for the Wild Card spots. It'll be interesting to see how the race looks later in the season.

@kolio never thought I'd say this but go St. Louis. You guys need to beat Nashville. Hopefully someone (Brodziak, Ott) takes a run at Neal after he injured Zach Parise.

On to other games and my 2 favorite teams clash tonight as Minnesota takes on Tampa Bay. As much as I like Tampa, I'm cheering on the Wild tonight!

You mention Wild Card teams... AnthonyD1993's Detroit Red Wings and RedDragon's Minnesota Wild both hold 2nd Wild Card positions as of this post. Division leaders as of this post:

* Eastern - Atlantic: Montreal (12-2-1, 25 pts.)
* Eastern - Metropolitan: New York Rangers (9-2-2, 20 pts.)
* Western - Central: Dallas (11-3-0, 22 pts.)
* Western - Pacific: Los Angeles (8-5-0, 16 pts.)

Still a lot of season to go at this point. Who knows? Even Columbus could come from way behind and maybe steal at least an Eastern Wild Card spot. All I know is that Montreal is looking REAL good this season. The Habs will play this coming Wednesday Night at Pittsburgh on NBCSN.

Agreed. :)

Though I do not like seeing people get hurt, I would like some extra pressure going into the opponents tonight. Especially Neal.

And just because Parise is your BF, doesn't mean. . . . . . I will shut up. :p

The hit was definitely not needed though. Kinda stupid Neal can do what he wants. Who is Wild's Enforcer? Somebody really needs to give Neal something back.

Hopefully it goes well for the Blues

If there was the chance I'd totally date Zach. I'd be worried everytime he stepped on the ice, but it would be worth it:O

And what enforcer? We have none. Kyle Brodziaka went to St. Louis. Chris Stewert went to Anaheim. We have no one

Blues won 4-0 with Allen making 45 saves and getting his 7th career shutout.

Didn't get to watch but the first 10 minutes or so.

Didn't know Chris went to Anaheim... guess we have beat him up over there now. ;)

A few scores from Saturday...

* You can't win if you don't score. 1-0 was the score in St. Paul, MN as the Wild took down the Tampa Bay Lightning.

* St. Louis went into the Nashville Predators house and took them down hard. How hard? Try 4-0 hard. So the "Beat Nashville" wishes were granted... with authority.

* The good times roll on for the Montreal Canadiens, as they won 4-2 against the visiting Boston Bruins. Got to love Original Six hockey.

* The Kings refuse to be dethroned. Los Angeles won at home 4-1 against the Florida Panthers.

Plenty other winners from this 11-game Saturday, so congrats to all other winners.

12 games tonight! Let me chat on some of the many games from this night...

* NBCSN shown the game between the Buffalo Sabres at the Tampa Bay Lightning tonight. The Lightning were taken down hard with a 4-1 victory by the Sabres. Even the rookie Jack Eichel got in on the scoring fun for Buffalo. Breaking up the shutout for Tampa Bay was Steven Stamkos. The goal by Stamkos made the game tied for all of about maybe... 45 seconds.

* Eight goals were scored between the Winnipeg Jets and the Minnesota Wild. It was the home Wild that got the better end of this decision with a 5-3 victory. The Wild put a four-spot on WPG in the 2nd Period, and Thomas Vanek cashed in two goals in the game to help the Wild's cause.

* It was a good night for AnthonyD1993's Detroit Red Wings, as they tripped up the Washington Capitals 1-0 in MoTown. The Caps will head back to Washington, D.C. to host the Pittsburgh Penguins in the NBCSN Wednesday Night Rivalry game tomorrow night.

* The Toronto Maple Leafs went into Dallas and took down the Dallas Stars 3-2.

* The New York Rangers subdued the Carolina Hurricanes with a 3-0 victory in New York City.

* 7-5 was the score in Nashville as the Predators defended home turf against the visiting Ottawa Senators.

* It was 2-0 in New Jersey as the Devils fell to the visiting St. Louis Blues.

* The Colorado Avalanche caved in the Philadelphia Flyers with a 4-0 blank job in Philly.

* The Florida Panthers won at home against the Calgary Flames with a 4-3 victory.

* The Columbus Blue Jackets lose another one. They fell 5-3 to the visiting Vancouver Canucks.

Congratulations to all other winners from Tuesday.

Get psyched! Hits. Checks. Slapshots. The occasional fight. Light the lamp. Horns and sirens. Fist bumping your boys (or girls if playing women's hockey) on the sideline after a sweet goal. Ah, nothing like hockey. Only two games are on tonight on this Veterans Day. Here are tonight's games:

* MON Canadiens at PIT Penguins (NBCSN Wednesday Night Rivalry)
* EDM Oilers at ANA Ducks

Just to say, regardless of who wins tonight's games, the real winners today are all the veterans who helped protect the USA. Thank all of you veterans.

Anyhow... enjoy some hockey tonight.

[UPDATE] MON at PIT tonight. Edited.

Jake Allen.

He is on fire! Apart from some moments where his teammates backed him up. 96 consecutive saves over the past 3 games.

Blues won 2-0 over the Devils in their house last night. Being almost dominated in the 1st period when it comes to puck possession, they came back fighting.

As a quick note, it's Montreal at Pittsburgh tonight. I made the edits. My apologies.

Just 13 seconds into the game, and Pittsburgh cashed in the first goal of the game. Montreal would tie minutes later. Pretty good start to MON at PIT.

Rundown of Thursday games. There were 12 games played, but I'll highlight on some of the many games. Get ready...

* The Minnesota Wild aren't afraid of natural disasters. "Ain't never scurred," Minnesota took down the Carolina Hurricanes 3-2 on the road, but they couldn't do it in regulation. So this was an Overtime victory. Yet still- you win how you can and regardless of if you can win in sixty minutes of game time. Congratulations to Wild Nation.

* The New York Rangers doubled up the St. Louis Blues 6-3 in Madison Square Garden in NYC. The Rangers have won seven straight now with this latest victory.

* Another 6-3 decision was the final score in Dallas as the Dallas Stars outshone the Jets of Winnipeg.

* It was a 3-1 final in Tampa Bay as the Lightning took down the Calgary Flames.

* The Arizona Coyotes defended home nicely with a 4-1 victory over the Edmonton Oilers.

* Toronto and Nashville needed a Shootout to settle their differences. And in the Music City, Nashville sung the blues as Toronto won 2-1.

* Big win for the New Jersey Devils as they won 3-2 at the Chicago Blackhawks.

* Easy money for the Washington Capitals as they won 5-2 at the Philadelphia Flyers.

Congratulations to all other winners from Thursday, including many other games that ended 3-2 tonight.

It wasn't a good Saturday for a few of our GTPlaneteers. Two of the NHL's Original Six- Detroit and Boston- clashed in Boston, and the Bruins won 3-1 over the Detroit Red Wings. The Minnesota Wild took on the Dallas Stars and lost 3-2 in Overtime in Dallas. 4-2 was the score in St. Louis as the Chicago Blackhawks won on the road against the Blues. Sunshine State pride was on the line in Tampa Bay, and the Florida Panthers won 5-4 in a Shootout at the Tampa Bay Lightning.

First-class beat downs were offered by Colorado and Nashville. Colorado won 6-1 at Montreal, and Nashville won by a touchdown at home over Winnipeg- a 7-0 clobbering. The New York Rangers won at Ottawa 2-1 in a Shootout. And what do you know? Colombus won! The Blue Jackets took down the Arizona Coyotes 5-2 in Columbus.

Only two games tonight: Toronto Maple Leafs at New York Rangers and Calgary at Chicago.

So of the 8 total teams in playoff spots from the West, 5 are from the Central Division. When people say that the Central is the toughest division they aren't lieing

Interesting stats from the Stars pregame show heading into my game with MIN yesterday:

- The Central division, as a whole, hold six of the 11 top spots in Second period scoring.

- 3 or four teams in the Central that maintained a lead after 40 minutes was undefeated after 60. (They didn't list. Dang you Ludwig)

During the game:

- John Klingburg was a major factor in all of the Dallas goals last night. He had two primary assists and the game winning goal, making him the NHL second star last night.

- Dallas is still proving the adage that 3 or more goals a game will likely win you a hockey game. They are leading the league in goals per game with 3.61. The league average is 2.64 goals per game.

Other observations:

- Kari Lehtonen and Antti Niemi, both Dallas netminders, are tied for the league lead for assists with two apiece.

NBCSN will show the Minnesota Wild at the Pittsburgh Penguins at 7:30 PM Eastern. So RedDragon's Wild are about to get some face time going up against the Penguins as Pittsburgh open up a home stand. I think the Wild's next game will be at Boston on Thursday. But first, the Wild will have to try to take down the Pens and Sidney Crosby tonight in the Steel City.

Ready for another Wednesday night of hockey? Get ready for tonight's matches:

* VAN Canucks at WPG Jets
* WAS Capitals at DET Red Wings (NBCSN Wednesday Night Rivalry)
* CHI Blackhawks at EDM Oilers

So it looks like the Capitals will try to entertain AnthonyD1993's Red Wings up in MoTown. We'll see who gets the better of this match when it's all said and done.

Last night's game with Minnesota at Pittsburgh ended in a 4-3 victory for the Penguins. Scoring early and often helped put the Pens ahead of the Wild. Minnesota tried to rally but couldn't get over the hump to tie or take the lead.

Hump Day hockey. Enjoy some NHL Hockey tonight, folks.

Regulation wasn't enough at The Joe, so the Capitals and Red Wings needed Overtime. The Washington Capitals won 2-1 in Overtime at the Detroit Red Wings.

Congratulations to other winners from Wednesday, but I would like to make this melancholy mention before closing this post. My thoughts and prayers go out to all whom have known and loved Bert Olmstead. He was a five-time Stanley Cup champion and a 4-time All-Star. He died at the age of 89. So spare some thoughts for a legend like Bret Olmstead.

I'm worried that our season is down the drain now. Tyler Graovac, Justin Fontaine, Zach Parise, Jonas Brodin, Marco Scandella and now Jason Zucker looks like he might be out after a slash to the back of the leg tonight against Boston. This is getting worse and worse and the bigger issue is that the Wild don't have anyone down in Iowa to bring up because they are injured and Iowa is trash again. We don't have anyone out there to get other teams to stop taking liberties with the Wild. Devan Dubnyk struggled again tonight and is making me nervous again

Detroit is barely clinging on to a Wild Card spot. Since it seems like the bulk of the Eastern Conference is more hell-bent on being somewhere around .500 this year, the teams that get the berths are the ones that can actually win in the clutch. Looks like it'll be a stressful season for most Eastern Conference fans for the remainder of this season.

I saw the Minnesota Wild lost 4-2 at the Boston Bruins tonight. Tough break for the Wild. Looks like the Wild will have to try to win as many games as possible for certain players to heal up. The season is still very young. Maybe the Wild bounce back and make a postseason run. Even a Wild Card berth is a success in my view for Minnesota.

Rough sledding for the Red Wings, but there's still plenty of season left. Just be certain that things don't snowball out of control to where the season becomes too much a totally lost cause. Even a Wild Card berth later in the season is a success to me for the Red Wings.

All of this is just positive, "half-full" thinking from me. I just hope all are hanging tough regardless of what is going on with teams this season. It's okay to be worried at this point, but nobody has been eliminated from playoff contention or anything at this point.

Time for a few scores from Friday...

* Kings 'n Wings. The Detroit Red Wings dethroned the Los Angeles Kings 3-2 in Detroit. Tatar landed the first goal for DET before J. Carter of LA tied things up. Carter actually accounted for both goals for LA.

* The Toronto Maple Leafs got themselves a win on the road at the Carolina Hurricanes. The score was 2-1, and a Shootout was needed to settle this score.

* Columbus overrated the Nashville Predators with a 4-0 beat down at home.

* Home cooking didn't help the New York Islanders as the Montreal Canadiens beat the Islanders 5-3.

Though the Washington Capitals lost last night, I want to take a moment to congratulate A. Ovechkin on becoming the all-time leading Russian-born goal scorer in NHL history. It's amazing how many goals he scored in so few games. I'm actually sorry I didn't mention Ovie last night or so. Still, congrats to Ovie on a job well done.
