I think Mercedes will find someone that is competent and quick enough to push for a wcc for the team.
It's gotta be Bottas! Makes most sense to me - his contract is up, he's quick and experienced, he already has links to Wolff and Mercedes (via the engines), Williams need the money and could do with a sweeter engine deal plus he'll not cost the £15 million in wages Rosberg was getting. Slam dunk for me.

I think the only thing is Mercedes may want 'another' German. I say another in quotation because Rosberg wasn't exactly a German in the way Schumacher or Vettel are.

The seething from Hamilton and his minions is getting to comical levels.

Seems some are a bit bitter seeing Nico with a beautiful wife and family and something more than racing which is real in his life?
Family comes first everything else is second every time.

Lets be real here we all know if any of the other drivers had been in that Mercedes they would have been up there.
And vice-versa if Lewis and Nico were in the Haas they wouldn't be anywhere near q3 never mind Podiums.
Nico got the most points regardless of bad luck penalties etc he won he deserved it. Move on.

One there are fans of Lewis that respect what Nico decided and respect him a ton. So the minion comment is baseless, considering.

Two as for "any driver" sure there could be but let's take a trip down memory lane once again in a sport where the fan base is fickle with it. 2008's McLaren was a top class fighter and yet Kovalainen could extract said performance on the level that people claim should be done. Saying it is 100% of the car is silly, because if you look at the records of these drivers in inferior cars, it easily shows they can win and gain points, so a great car will be utilized to the utmost from such a driver.

Would I expect a Gutierrez or Paul di Resta to take a Mercedes GP to consistent podiums? No not at all, because they aren't that good.
Read through the topic, it's been brought up already and doesn't matter. Move on

It does, but people can't be bothered cause dear me, search bar is so hard to utilize...:indiff::(

Of course some respect what Nico has done but there is so many online in every social media posting who are seething coming out with if this if that Lewis would have won. This That If are exactly that he didn't win Nico did, I am just sitting back laughing at the people who can't accept the outcome regardless of bad luck if's and because's. I am a huge Lfc fan and want them to win always but when a team outplays them and wins the game I accept it, some cannot the same as in F1 it's comical and so amusing.
They may have a point if Lewis's engine didn't blow If Lewis and Nico hadn't played bumping cars with each other the final result may have been different but end of the season the man with the most points wins regardless.

Yes I agree Lewis and Nico are very talented drivers but if they didn't have the car under them which is capable of winning they would of being no where near which is the reason Seb Kimi and Fernando are not world champs this year. Like I said as good as some of the drivers may be if they were in the Haas they wouldn't have been anywhere in the rankings.
Gifted some like Alonso achieve more than expected in the car they have due to ability.
We will never know if Di Resta or Gutierrez would have taken that Mercedes to wins but I would wager they could, The same goes for if Lewis and Nico were in the Haas they would maybe get the car one may be two places above where they were this season due to ability. See I am not saying it is the car 100% but it is a massive plus to have the fastest car has F1 has shown for years. The ability comes in to it when the cars are equal like passed years when we had McLaren's and Ferraris which were so closely matched in car design and speed the ability of the driver is the winning factor.
The Mercedes were excellent quick cars this season so much I do think any driver on the 2016 grid could have bought them home in first or second in most races.
All the best Nico in your retirement may all your future endeavours be blessed.
