Its because those cars have a lot of wheelspin and when the wheels stop spinning they get their grip back which is why the gs jump.

I'm gonna record it to shiw you guys when I get a chance also reving at 2 doesn't work any more

Isn't that just quick shifting? I hope that's not considered a cheat

Ill probably get hate for this but...

I think of it as quick shifting, and I see no problem with it. It's a method that uses the usual aspects of drag racing, just timed precisely to improve timing.

Just ran my LMQ with timed and untimed launches and quick shifting. No anomalies with my g's, still a solid 1.68.

Quick shifting has no relation to retro launching whatsoever... No problem at all with it.

Retro launching is only when you have both 1st and 2nd all the way to the left. It is not considered "retrolaunching" if your 2nd gear isn't all the way to the left. Plus, I do not think it is possible to retrolaunch a 4WD. Only FR cars.

Then again, I have never tested retrolaunching stuff, so I couldn't really tell ya. This is what I know about it though.

It's shifting to second literally around 1/10th of a second after launching in first, revs don't even build in first. Only cars that are tuned to launch in second gear can be retro launched and even then not all of those can be retroed. And yeah, no awd's

I don't understand...

The way I race all of my muscle cars is to launch in 1st and imminently shift 2nd and let it ride out. This is news to me that this is considered cheating...

You're just quick shifting. Not cheating, You of all people should know that lol. Even on the other leader board site retro launching is now accepted for submissions and has been for quite some time.

BUT I DON'T SEE THE DIFFERENCE???

I'm telling you, route x was more of a curse than a blessing...

Retro is where your in 1st for like 0.1 seconds, its like launching and shifting to second almost simultaneously....that's the difference, it's hard to do. quick shift is like a quarter to a half a second in first. Hope that helps clear it up :)

also retro launch creates a ton of bog, that only works offline on route x and not online, so it is frowned upon heavily.

Ok so can we do a car with a retro tranny tune so we the public can try it out to understand or is that asking for to much

So online when I'm dragging all my FF's, low powered FR's like the S2k and/or the Scion/Toyota/Subaru and my LMQ I launch in first and shift to second immediately, I don't ride out first gear for nothing not even half a second, what do you guys call that?

I like to rev my spec-v right before the "Go"
So it doesn't hit the rev limiter, but still revs up. That way you get a really hardcore launch. In my black edition I get 0-60 in 1.777. And that's with my god-awful tune.

Quick shift :)

Ok I have a question since I've been burning at the stake for the past 24 hrs.

If I'm racing a RWD car and I usually launch in 2nd, QS to 3rd, hit 4th, 5th, 6th, cross the line. Race over.

Since the update I've seen something new.
It's called a "3B" launch.
With leaking it (trying to avoid another "e-cheat" era) my question is:
If your constantly shifting gears to take full advantage of your powerband, is that considered cheating?
Instead of using 2,3,4,5, & 6 a "3B" launch only uses 2,3,4, shift into 5th right before the shadow.
FYI: 9 shifts are involved*
