New physics

All of my suspension setups have had major changes in the Toe In numbers, I am finding that they are very high, for example 0.45 for TOE IN fwd when I normally had it at 0.05.
With the PD changed numbers the cars tend to be oversteering too easily.
Check your settings...

I noticed that too - that can increase the osciallation on the high speed runners that are sensitive to that

Hello, I see the physics recently have changed. A lot, maybe. And that's exactly what I could be waiting for. I actually came to this forum to ask if somehow... Gran Turismo 7 has tried to tempt us to buy a new racing wheel? Because I have had a G29 for pretty long now, maybe ten years already? Not sure. However when I tried out GT7 I had a really hard time controlling the cars.

So much so, that I started to wonder if Polyphony did it deliberately.

The thing I enjoyed most in previous Gran Turismo's was just taking any car around the Nurburgring.

However, I seem to have been unable to. Just as difficult with low powered cars as high powered cars.

Just to describe how impossible the physics felt, I had a really hard time controlling cars even through corners as Kesselchen.

The cars just seem to float extremely from the left part to the right part of the track without any... It's not firm on the ground anymore. The cars feel like they float over the tarmac.

So my question is, could this be a problem specific to the G29 steering wheel?

Today I have been driving some road cars and I had the same feeling as in gr3, IMHO the new physics are a simplification of the physics we had before, which were already simplified. A step in the wrong direction. We should go:

--> more simulator

and PD went

more arcade <--

If it was a simcade, now it's an arcadesim.

I'm very disappoint.

Bring the poos.

I'm also using a G29 and have noticed an oscillation from the wheel that was never present before. But I chalked it up to the changes to the physics. It only seems to happen with cars I've previously made some setup changes to, as I tried a few stock cars and never had any issue with them. I wouldn't say they feel floaty, but they can wander a bit.

I race often with a couple of guys using other wheels and they said they noticed the same oscillating as I mentioned. So I don't really think there's anything nefarious going on with that at least.

Well apparently, I benefit from the recent changes. I can finally set some respectable times on the Nürburgring in some low-medium powered cars.

Which was virtually impossible in the past. In any car, basically.

That means I might have my racing game back.

I did a Honda Civic, a Peugeot 205 GTI, a Lancer Tommi Makinen Edition, a Nissan 400R, a Volkswagen Golf GTI.

All with quite some sharp times, I think (on the Nürburgring). I had some trouble with the BMW M3 '03 on the Nür, because I made a guess that a time under 8 minutes would probably be realistic. Which... is probably possible, but not for me (yet).

I go for fast lap times, and clean laps. Ideally both. First I want them to be clean, then fast (if possible). In that order.

So I'm back =D

No more crashing at Kesselchen.

Edit: And a day later, guess what?? BMW M3 '03 on the Nürburgring in 7:59,138 =D
