Wow, I can't believe they took away all those tracks from the high PP races! :ouch: Looks like I'll mainly be racing the F1 car at Fuji until the next update.

Does this update make any sense at all? I suppose it is personal preference, but they've just removed my two of my favorite tracks from online play (London, Daytona Road). It is as if they came to me and asked me "what tracks do you like?" and then removed them. They will certainly be getting an email, which I'm sure the will promptly ignore :-)

That said, I don't know if I'll be seeing you guys as much online. I don't like Fuji at all, it has always been one of my most hated courses. Daytona Oval I pretty much decided to give up on because I've never been involved in even a single clean race there. Punted every single time... I've also never been a fan of Suzuka, which I know many of you love, but it is exactly the kind of track I don't like. (I'm an El Capitan, Nurburgring, Citta di Aria, George V. Paris kind of guy...)

*Sigh*. Well, at least we have professional events at lower pp levels. I have to go see how that works out and stop whining now :-)

I hate Fuji too, but try it in the F1 car! It's actually a lot of fun! Since you're going so much faster, it feels like a totally different track.

This game is already thin on tracks why take away 4 tracks and add just 2 F1 races????
While I don't like it, it appears they were removed due to the low interest. I can't tell you how many times I've tried entering one during off peak hours lately and it taking as much as three matching attempts before finding just one other online driver to race against.. possibly even longer, but I quit by the fourth attempt and try entering a different race. Even in peak hours, rarely have I ever been in a 700pp race at Daytona Road, London, High Speed Ring Reverse and Fuji with more than 8 drivers.

I suppose the thinking is by limiting the number of online races it will encourage bigger fields for the races that are available.

Still, I really like the 700pp London race as well as the 700pp Fuji race, so I'm not happy about it, but at the same time I can see some logic in that decision... for now. Hopefully online participation increases (although the opposite is more likely due to GTAIV), or at least for the next schedule changes for online races, PD replaces some of the events with those that it has since removed.

I am glad though they have added races for the F2007 to particiapte in. 👍

It sounds like thats the case, and its unfortunate because I actually prefer online races with 6-8 cars. When you have 16 cars, chances are a lot higher that you'll have more stupid drivers.

Slicecom, were you driving a F430 at Suzuka yesterday? IIRC, we had some nice matches. 👍

Guess I am going to have to go get the F1 car, now. Wonder how its going to be without a wheel. 💡

Yeah that was me! I didn't know you were on here. I even wrote down your PSN name on my list of good drivers. We had some awesome back and forth action for the lead. 👍

I will be changing it to a GTP name soon. Might try today after work. Going to go for GTP_Spyhunter. Should have done it yesterday, but was too busy racing. LOL.

Good racing! See you out there. 👍

I agree as well, but unfortunately, from my experience, most of the time those races had less than 6 drivers in them... and sometimes one or two of those drivers are just parking their cars to make the prize money, and there is usually one person that just quits... so even a race that starts out with six, can often end with only three running the full race. :indiff:

Hey Panjandrum and GPT_TheMoose,

Awesome racing last night. BBCRACER i only raced with you for the 2 races at HSR-R, and i didnt know you were with GTP, were's your tag buddy :)

Hey Moose what happened on race 2 of Fuji. The 1st turn on lap on i seen your car to left and straight in to the wall? Did someone hit you or did you brake to late? Also some great racing on Fuji ^^ the 1, 2 finish was sweet to see. Altho on the 3rd race Fuji, i did get hit a few timees by that white dodge viper, who also blocked me when i caught him on the start/finish line.

As for HSR-R i had no car set-up for that track, so thats why i sucked royally!

Oh well, im off to work see you guys tonight!

Yea I got punted off by the Audi, came back to 3rd though.

As for the change in tracks I like it, it mixes things up & makes you try different stuff, I was getting in a rut racing nothing but the GT-R at Fuji & Suzuka.
Daytona road is one of my favorite tracks though, I hope when they put it back they take away another track so there is more cars there.

Woo Hoo! I just got my copy of GT5p a couple days ago (I know, I know; but I was distracted by the new gf) :) and I'm just now doing the Class A license (trying for all golds is slowing me down!). I hope to see you all out there soon.

Look for me, I'm GTR_Fido!

Hi all, greetings from Alaska. This is my first post, and I want to say I had just about given up on trying to race online.I am glad that I stumbled across this site and joined. MY PSN is BroncoDan, and I usually race some kind of Ford, my favorite being trying to tame the GT. I look forward to racing with you guys, and will look for some of you tonight.

Hey Earth,

Were you video taping us at Daytona Road?

I taped both races, then deleted them because I didn't think they were very good. The F40 was just too much for the Elise, and in the second race for some strange reason the F40 spun out in the middle of the banking, that was the race you slowed down for me.

I recorded maybe half a dozen races last night but saw nothing special.

However, for tonight I will not be so picky. I will record the first 2 races at every track then I will need to spend the last 10+ minutes moving the data onto the PC because the SD card I have is rather small and can only record 14 minutes of video

I happened to find a set of videos in the recycle bin, I restored the video but its nothing more than a so-so battle between me in a F40 vs a non GTP member in a F430 at Daytona road. I'll upload it in the ORV thread, but I will be giving all my videos there a brief non spoiler discription along with a rating of how good I thought the race was

Just had some F1 races at Fuji and I'm dissapointed. Everyone cranks their aerodynamics to the max because that's what give you the highest PP, which is fine, except that it enables everyone to take the turns so fast that they become ghosts! It's almost like you're racing a bunch of time trial ghosts for 5 laps. :(

EDIT: I just did a 750PP race at Suzuka and man, the tuned Ford GT is so much more fun at 750pp than 700pp!

man, some guy on suzuka 750, I'll swing for him soon

I feel another video coming on. ;)

wow i made alot of stupid mistakes in that one but that was very gentelmenly(is that a real word?) of you to wait up.

Yeah I usually wait up if its just 2 drivers (or in this case 3, but the other guy was like 2 laps behind), because its a lot more fun actually racing someone than driving out front alone!

OMG HOW COULD I LOSE IT IN THE LAST CORNER TO SLICECOM!!! NOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

oh well nice race man

I think Slicecom was saying the same thing to me at the end of the first Suzuka PP600 race. ;)

Excellent racing tonight, as PP600 seems perfect for the 512 and M3. It's great to get those cars out on the track competitively with pro settings!

Haha that wasn't quite as bad because you led the whole race, I caught up at 130R on the last lap and then you repassed me for the lead coming out of the chicane. Awesome racing tonight!

 You gotta stop throwin' it away in the last turn man!

it wasnt he got a good draft going down the front straight. and with not being able to look into the mirrors with out removing a hand from the wheel i wouldnt have known which was to try and hold my position. :ouch:

Good racing boys, Hey did you like that outside drive off I got out the last turn? Forthe Win I might add

I take it back, what a bunch of hacks on the track there on that last race at HSR
