I hope you aren't too upset with the pass on the front stretch where I split both your Lotuses...I just couldn't resist it! :D That would have made a great replay

No problem at all. I saw you coming and moved over to make space. I'm getting used to that in the Elise because in most races I'm slowest on the straights. I don't know if that is really proper racing form (purposefully making room to let cars by) but I seem to get punted less that way and it seems like the polite thing to do.

I really need to practice in one of my higher speed cars. I mostly enjoy driving the small, light, nimble cars - and this really show whenever I try to join in at Daytona (plus, for some reason, I always get punted at Daytona at least once, sometimes several times).

I was on suzuka for a bit yesterday evening. Wow. I had at least 4 races end because of the host leaving. Each time I had climbed from second to last, or so, up to top 5. Won't even go into the punting. What do I need to do to up my starting spot? I presume its by how you typically finish.

Saw a few GTP names, but can't remember who. Sorry if I bumped anyone. Still using the controller. Have an old wheel I might hook up on Wed. Will have to get a new one soon.

BTW, when is the "best" time to play? And when you say what time, please mention your time zone. ;) Thanks!

Spy_hunter01 is my tag for now. Will probably get it changed to a GTP sometime this week.

Starting order is determined by quick tune points, with the lowest settings starting before the higher settings. Players with the same settings start in a random order with respect to each other. You can usually improve your starting position quite a bit by setting your quick tune value just one or two points below the cap.

I hope to see you tonight at Daytona, I will work with you to get us to the front!

Wont be seeing any of you guys online for the next week! I've got my senior project due and a huge Advanced Placement Calculus test coming up this week and next... No time for GT unfortunately.....

I'll see you guys online later!

The Cheef

Hey guys. Another fun night. If I'm going to keep joining in at Daytona Oval I better practice a little more first on that track!

Oh, and is it just me or are most registered members of the Punters hall of fame Corvette drivers? Anyone see what that guy did to me in the first race at Daytona! Holy spiraling death-slides batman!

Any GTPers playing online right now? I'm contemplating hooking my PS3 back up to my computer monitor / wheel for a few races. I've had enough GTA4 for one night.

Daytona was not my race today, I met the dirtiest drivers today. Hey Panjandrum, do you remember when I went low and straight into the wall? I was trying to ram that one vette, because he was trying to spin me down the back straight. There is no justice out there, when I try to ram someone I always turn invisable before I can take them out. lol

Yeah, I noticed you were trying to take him out. I'm fairly sure that is the driver who got me. I lost very nearly an entire lap due to that driver in the first race.

Maybe some other day I guess, Hey do you think I could make the Ford GT go faster than 185 in the corner? By using the tire thing you posted in the other forums?

This is very frustrating. Earlier I was online in Daytona Speedway, and these guys named Prothias, Aceallen, Yobdab and many other racers weren't following the racing line and even started hitting me. I think this situation has gone too far. We need headset chatting and booting options in this game because I kept on losing the whole time. I'm only two million away to get the F2007. I'm trying to get first place as soon as possible and my Nissan GT-R's settings are not that great either. Let's see if I can try other of my cars.

If I'm up for a dogfight, you can find me at the Daytona Speedway Oval.

I don't know about that. In theory you will get the most overall grip with the stickies tires, but the Ford GT gets extremely skittish if you use them. The car is much more predictable and "calm" if you use R1s or S3s. But we should probably discuss that in the other thread anyway.

What do you guys think is a reasonable policy for dealing with punters?

I'm reserving attempts at revenge to only the most absurd cases - where the driver has obviously practiced the art of punting as part of their "racing skills". Mostly I just try to get back in the race, drive well, and come home with a win or as close to it as possible. Often the punters aren't good drivers, and if you can stay away from them you can come back for a win, or at least a trophy.

On the other hand, there have been several times where the punting is so obvious and frustrating that the race is totally ruined. In those cases I've occasionally decided it is time to punt back.

I work my way back up through the field, and if I have an opportunity to take out the guy who punted me, I will, but I'm not going to throw my own race away to do so. Punters usually suck at driving, so catching up usually isn't an issue. Most of the time they will have already taken themselves out by trying to punt someone else off, or someone else gets their revenge on them before you get a chance.

I got tired of great races being forgotten because we can't save replays online, so I pulled out the digital camera that also happened to be able to record video, although quite poorly

Just a quick 2 minute sample, GTP_VanHelen was ahead of me in this race at the start but went off in the first set of corners, I tried to record the next race but the batteries died...

But I will be on and off this evening recording races, and I will post any good ones...too bad the quality is so bad

 That's awesome, and in a way, even cooler than replays of online races since you can post it up here for all the enthusiasts to see. Hopefully we'll be in a few races together tonight. We always seem to have good duels.

Punter award of the evening goes to "whiteygtr", who rammed me repeatedly from behind during 3 separate races on Daytona Oval. Nice. He eventually quit though and let someone else have a turn :-)

Good racing on HSR again though. Seems to be a nicer crowd there most of the time. Tonight GTP_bbc_nascar2 and GTP_Mighty_Mopar were there as well.

bbc_nascar2, hope I didn't clip you in that corner while I was passing. My apologies if I did - you looked like your were going wide and I made the pass on the inside just after the tunnel on HSR reverse.

Anyone want to race at 11:45pm EST?--------

Nevermind... saw the additional times.. I'll be at Suzuka in 8 minutes.

Yes.. I was there for the first two races in the white lotus 111R.. I saw that you switched from the S2K.... I had some issues with understeer and traffic.. ;)

Good race Drama... you had my inside but I think you went in too deep...

and nascar, you got really loose coming out of the last turn... too soon on the throttle?

This new schedule isn't very good.

They've gotten rid of Daytona Road, London, High Speed Ring Reverse and Fuji for the normal cars. That's 4 tracks. This game is already thin on tracks why take away 4 tracks and add just 2 F1 races????

I've updated the schedule, but in my opinion it isn't very good, and is probably impossible to be good with what they gave us. I don't know what could make it very good.

There is alot of 500pp Daytona oval races because with a penalty level of 3 combined with the low speed of the cars should make for great racing if there isn't any side swippers.

I put races of equal pp and the F1 races in succession so you don't have to switch in and out of your favorite car every 30 minutes.

I like the idea they gave us 500, 600, and 750pp races in professional physics, but why remove 4 tracks? Overall, 👎

yea i dont like that they cut out 4 tracks. London i dont really care about cuz i suck there anyways but im already disapointed with the level of drivers in the F1 races quiters and rammers and i thought that would be free of that for at least a week while all the kiddies struggle to earn money.

nice run at fuji. i guess i'll have to get used to it since its not my favorite of tracks.

yea nice race man. though i really gotta get used to racing that online. with all the aero maxed out with the higher topspeed all my barking points have moved a bit and now i need to get used to this increased speed.

You know Earth, I think the new Schedule is just fine. I understand why you put it together like that. I like it because its not all 700PP races now, so now we have to bring a different car to each track. It will make things much more exciting having cars that cannot get up to 200 MPH. I look forward to racing you guys in the F2007, however I will not be as good as you guys will be. The thing is just too sensitive with my a controller, I need a wheel to feel it out. There is too much room for error with that anolog stick

Thanks Earth and I wish you all good races!

Hey Panjandrum and GPT_TheMoose,

Awesome racing last night. BBCRACER i only raced with you for the 2 races at HSR-R, and i didnt know you were with GTP, were's your tag buddy :)

Hey Moose what happened on race 2 of Fuji. The 1st turn on lap on i seen your car to left and straight in to the wall? Did someone hit you or did you brake to late? Also some great racing on Fuji ^^ the 1, 2 finish was sweet to see. Altho on the 3rd race Fuji, i did get hit a few timees by that white dodge viper, who also blocked me when i caught him on the start/finish line.

As for HSR-R i had no car set-up for that track, so thats why i sucked royally!

Oh well, im off to work see you guys tonight!
