I must say I'm not surprised about Daytona Road disappearing again. Everyone moans that it isn't there and then when PD provide it, nobody uses it.

Use it or lose it, as they say.

All I wanted to stress was that the PP thresholds stayed the same which in my opinion is a bummer

I guess they just don't want to risk people losing their set ups or something. Though I agree it does get boring seeing and racing the same cars all the time.

Daytona Road was my most used track when it existed, and I never had a problem with finding people to race on it. Granted, I don't think I ever had any 16 car races on it, but like most 16 car races, that would have been a disaster anyways!

*Sigh*. I've gotten used to the events changing all the time, but what I can't fathom is how they get into my brain, figure out the events I'm most enjoying, and then remove those specific events. For example, 500pp Daytona Road had emerged as my favorite of the 500/600pp professional events, and I did drive it frequently. I had also come to truly enjoy 750pp Daytona Oval, once I figured out the thrill of trying to take the race in the Lotus Elise Tuned, which was always very challenging and thus a real joy when you come out in front.

I'm going to start wearing a tin-foil hat to block PD's evil brain-wave scanners.

so, just came back from 30 minutes of online racing and i gave it a shot at suzuka time trial in the GTR and after 5 laps i set the fastest time. Online ranking is #1 now by me
must say that was a bit too easy lol.

I'm gonna go online in a bit and see how the other time trials are

I personally glad to see London back as it can provide better opposition when racing as all the usual punters & bashers don't bother with it, becuase there are no stupidly large run off areas. I used to have some good races on there previously.

I used to use it a lot, but I very rarely found anyone to race me on it, and when I did I used to always, always beat them. It was as if nobody practiced there much, so they were rubbish, so they just didn't bother with it. I agree that 16 car races are usually too mental and very rarely finish with more than half the cars remaining, but I would have liked more than just one competitor, which is what I normally got!

i think i will be staying at suzuka, and every so often use fuji F and HSR Reverse.

Good to see the London track there. Had some good races last night. Looked like a one make race though, dominated by the Integras, the odd EVO IX was competitive, but everthing else someone turned up in was nowhere. Still, early days yet, maybe some other cars will emerge. I think I will be playing this track the most out of the current crop.

Tried London in the F2007 and just couldn't compete with a wheel against those using a controller on those tight corners. Just can't go from lock to lock as fast as they can.

Daytona in the F2007 was a blast but totally unrealistic, F1 cars bouncing off the walls and each other at 350kmh and just carrying straight on. Yeah right, the real driving simulator ?? Fun for while but I can definately see that becoming boring.

So, went out there and gave it a try tonight. Actually had the most fun on Eiger, which I've been wanting to race online for a long time. Too bad you only get to choose from a handful of cars and in standard physics. I think it would be a blast at around 500pp and pro physics.

Daytona Oval in the F2007 was indeed completely boring, except for the idiot punter who tried to take me out, wrecked himself instead, and then quit :-) I love it when that happens.

London 500pp is a course I think I'll really enjoy once I give it a little more practice.

Because thats hugely biased towards those who prefer 600PP over the other classes, when i see most people in 750 overall. Particularly Daytona 750 was likely the busiest event overall last time around. I was hoping to at least see an Eiger on one event, now we've lost Daytona speedway to the F2007, which will be horrifically boring i think. It just lack variety, I would've gladly dropped 750 OR 600 Suzuka for Eiger of the same class, just to mix it up a bit. All we ever do is Suzuka Suzuka Suzuka, its tiresome for some of us, i can't even drive 600 Suzuka anymore without yawning my way round alot of the time unless there's a multi car battle for the lead which i'm involved in. Seeing as we won't have these events all that long, it would've been nice for that short change away from Suzuka. Sure its a great track and provides good racing, but it's just overplayed by us GTP folk.

LOL are you serious?... suzuka 600pp is like the most played circuit

Have some fun with the beginner class. Run a Mustang in the sport class, I have won with it for the first time and have ticked off the punters to boot. The weight off the Mustang keeps you on the track and slows them right down.You start at the front and it is almost impossible to pass it if you keep a good line. Had to do something different tonight. Not a big fan of the update, probably be SOCOMing for a while.

I think it's just a case of getting used to the new conditions no matter what changes are thrown at us.

Personally I like the HSR and had got the GT-R running perfectly on the PP600 with S2 tyres, but now I will be giving the PP700 a try.......in any car other than the Clio!

At the moment it has basically handed the race over to the Clio's but I can't stand them!! I always try to tune a different car to beat them!

They're like wasps....buzzing round your head.....and just as annoying!

I really grew to love Daytona Road. I've even gotten a couple of top 100 times on it in a various Lancer variations. It's a lot of fun with, say, 4 or 5 other racers if they're not punters.

I thought this would be an appropriate enough thread, one question


I have not played GT5P for about two months now (mostly because I have been out of the country and away from my PS3) and I haven't raced online since about Febuary (not including time trials), back then if I remember correctly PD updated the events weekly. GT5P was later released around the world and many more events were offered.
(now to my question)

I thought GT5P was getting a bi-weekly update now, is this happening as it would be due very soon?

No, online events now last for more than 2 weeks, next update is on July 3rd. That's 3 weeks.
