Less chance of bugs
Just tried this and it is easiest to spot this with the Caterham Classic, which has chromed headlights which now reflect your own car and the AI.
Ok...if you delete profile does that erase the adjustments in garage?
It reset everything so it will be like you start the game for the first time. You will have to set everything again.
Thanks Tired Iron...took me too long to get stuff like I like it..not deleting jack
I only do it when I have major issues
Try using this site and copy all your setups to there. That way you have essentially archived your setups.
I don't have problems at the moment but I'm asking just in case: What about creating a backup of my profile, reinstalling the game and then keep using the old profile? This way bugs should be ironed out and I still have all my setups, careers etc. Or am I wrong here and the profile is responsible for many of the bugs?
During the initial beta/alpha builds we were instructed to essentially reset your profile every Friday or whatever, for the weeks patches and updates. It was so they could make sure everyone was running the exact same game when giving feedback - no carry over from old profiles upsetting anything.
I'd guess some folks are still doing that. I haven't reset my profile since the official launch - so far, so good.
Confusing to know if we should delete the profile file or not .
One delete the profile file and then another one don't do it.
If you delete, it can only help. The only problem is you lose your settings/progress. It may help get rid of some bugs, so for people with too many issues encountered this may help. At least it shouldn't be any worse. But like I said, if you need to keep your settings and career progress, then better keep it.
I have read that people use "rebuild data base" on the PS4 and it helps. I haven't done this yet but am thinking about it .
I have no idea if saving your profile would work I never tried it. As far as deleting your game and reinstalling the game you have to download the big patch again again I never do that.
The only reason I deleted my profile for ver.3 is because it was a huge file. If you don't have any issues why delete the profile. And before that I would run into issues I would reset my profile and everything would be fine.
Hope this helps.
What I'm going to do is ( because I had reasonable issues before patch 3.0 ) give the game a try without deleting the profile file , if I encounter still the same mambo jambo I will go and cut the rope for a new Profile file .
you should try uninstalling it completely and make a fresh install in my opinion. you issues are so strange mate, as those of @Ridox2JZGTE ....
If i was in you guys i would get in system and completely delete all the datas... Looks like a bad download/data on your hard discs
Did SMS announce anything about the upcoming patch (or is it just DLC?).
Here's a list of what's included in the 4.0 patch.
Update 4.0 is out on the PS4. Almost 4gb in size.
Drivers driving backwards online will now be displayed as ghost cars without collision detection.
Official patch notes can be found here.
Wow! The best racing game ever just got better!
Some good ones there indeed. Coming along nicely.
Patch now available on Steam
Loving all of this. But the main two things that caught my eye was the forced Default setups for online and when a driver goes backwards they will turn ghosts.
I am in the US and no patch yet on ps4
Same here. I hope they release it before I go to work.
Forced default setup doesn't work unless I'm doing it wrong. It still loads your setup and you can change it during sessions.
