Well pricing is mainly based on supply and demand, if demand is low, then pricing would be adjusted to encourage purchases. So for the people who are saying DLC's costing too much and not worth the price, if the majority of the community is happy with the pricing and DLC sales are strong, that's really too bad for you.

No matter how unhappy you are and how much complaining you do, PD doesn't need to lower DLC prices for you as long as they reach a certain sales level.

Yep. We can't really judge the price just yet for the new track anyway. We don't really know the full details of it. Obviously it's big, but it may be extremely detailed and actually worth more than we think.

Can I please ask you to elaborate and describe to me what do you mean by the bolded part - The Actual Racer in GT™.

What is The Actual Racer in GT™? What kind of person is *him*? What makes him so "Actual" when compared to... what would be the right word here... hm... "fake"?

Is the The Actual Racer in GT™ some special species? I mean, I would be love to consider myself as The Actual Racer in GT™, but since I bought all DLC and I am looking forward to this one as well, I see that maybe I have very high opinion about myself. Am I fake? What should I do to become The Actual Racer in GT™?

Please help me with the advice and guide to become Actual™, thank you in advance! 👍
 Calm down bro. Here's your answer:
People who are only interested in racing, obviously.

Companies and software developers in general are in business to make money. They should be paid for the work they do and the content they create. If you like it, you buy and that business thrives. If not, then it sits on shelves and collects dust and eventually the business either changes how they do business or goes out of business. That is called free market and it seems to work really well all around the globe.

Bottom line - If you don't like the price or the product that PD is offering, just don't buy it. If lots of people do that they will notice and things might change.

Yeah the coffe prices at Starbucks is ridiculous.

I'm at Starbucks daily, love it.

How about we wait until the 18th and form some formal opinions then. I'd like to see what all this seemingly mysterious "Route X" has to offer.

Great coffee, but still over priced in my opinion. Besides, too many hipsters at my local Starbucks.

When you think something is to expensive don't start complaining.

Don't buy it or get a job. It is not up to you to decide what a product must cost. You now say in this matter what so ever. You are a consumer not a producer.

hahahahaha internet, what a joke, everybody thinks he/she is right and/ or important, hahahahaha

Tell me about it. The Actual Racer in GT™?

 :boggled:

I re-watched the NSX Concept video and I don't remember ever seeing the elevation change. I first saw it on my PS3 because I was without a computer for over a week, so I could only watch it in 240p. It's safe to say, I hate 240p. I remembered the tunnel, though.

The whiners of trivial things annoy me as well quite much, that much even that I'm happy they don't like these things they whine about.. suffer baby suffer!

:p

Most Call of Duty games:

Disc: $60
4 Maps: $15
Usually 2-3 map packs per game...
Elite subscription for MW3: $50

No game is cheap, but $10 every month or two to keep GT fresh and generate revenue for PD so they can continue to develope and further the game...I'm ok with that.

Unfortunately, some people like having GT be the exception. ^^^^

I agree with those who say that we should have the option to either buy a whole car pack or each car separately. I hope PD considers this in the future. I'm still buying this DLC, but there are a couple of cars in it that I could live without.
This could very well solve some peoples problems. STILL, it's Sony's decision. The only reason they went back on the decision of DLC being locked to one account was to appease everybody that bought, or wanted to buy, the pack. By everybody, it means everybody. Not everybody cares about individual cars being sold as DLC and it really isn't a necessity like the Family Pack upgrade was. That's the issue.

Im one of the most loyal GT Fans but if I can be honest, 1 dollar per car is a bit too much IMO. I bought the first DLC pack no questions because the large amount of content received for what I considered a fair price.
I did not buy the last DLC because I though 4 dollars for some ho hum cars wasn't worth it.

That said, I am still going to buy this pack because I want that dang Aventador and the gigantic test track. Do I think the price is over inflated, yes, absolutely. I usually preach free market economics, but in this case, i'm ignoring the price and not trying to justify my spending. I just want it and people pay for what they want. I don't have a problem with Money, I do fairly well on my own, but I have always had a thing about paying more then something was worth.

In any event, I am buying this pack for sure, and just hope that the DLC packages improve int he future. GT5 has my business, but I would like to see them offer a little more to their patrons.

I'm a bit interested in this DLC stuff in games. Since today its pretty popular.
I think most people agree that PD and Sony employees, and everyone around the globe who works for someone else should be paid.

Also, I think is clear that few dollars is pretty cheap for each individual who has a PS3 and GT5. Like some people here have stated, its one day coffee (or two days or three days depending on the 'quality', or maybe more precisely, the brand).

Anyway I wonder how much money they spent to develop these DLC.
For example, the first batch is said to have been downloaded more than 1 million times only during the first 2 weeks! https://www.gtplanet.net/gran-turismo-5-dlc-hits-one-million-downloads-in-two-weeks/
So considering the average price, $5, they may have made 5 million dollars.

How much of this 5 millions they really spent making the DLC (15 RM cars, Spa, Kart Race and some chips)?
Someone have a guess?
While we don't know, we can't say if they are pricey or not...

If to develop 15 RM cars, Spa, Kart Race and some chips they needed to spent somewhere near 3 millions dollars, well... I wonder if its worth. hehehe xD

If you don't like the price don't buy it. No one is forcing you to buy it. Stop complaining. Some of you are worse than teenaged girls.

I see a lot of entitlement in this thread. I find the prices for the DLCs very reasonable. Don't forget people, PD doesn't get all the money from the GT5 disk sales, the stores, Sony, distributors, printers, the car manufacturers, Pirelli, Bridgestone, and probably more all get a cut from it. Don't forget that we get FREE updates fairly regularly.

I chose not to by the last DLC because I wasn't interested. You have the choice, no one is forcing you.

If you guys want a GT6, PD needs money to pay it's employes. Is 4-5$ per dlc that expensive? If you are under 15 and can't get a job, do some babysitting, mow the lawn, shovel some snow for an old neighbor.

GT5 has my business, but I would like to see them offer a little more to their patrons.

lol. As if they havent. I dont think we need to spell it out either. These updates have something for everyone. Its hardly just about dlc :)

I still dont get it how come some people dont see this, i guess they started playing gt just from gt5.. the point is that pd cutt the gt4 in half and now they are selling it to us piece by piece..

I dont have a problem whit that either, im forced to bye it because its a unfinished game ( intentionally..??) but cmon, give us something worth to bye or as some are saying give us oportunity to bye what we want not the hole pack.. what vould i really do whit nissan leaf..???

I still don't get how you still don't get it, lol, more than 50% of the people in this thread have at least played gt4 I'm sure, and, AS I'VE SAID! It's been explained to you, but your purposely ignoring it because it's not what you think, so you ignore reason and act like a stuborn brat, I'm sorry, but your just pointless now. :indiff:

By the way, if the worst cars in this car pack are just the beetle and leaf but you still get the Aventador, teh Jag, and such, what does it matter? (and I like the beetle, so thats your problem if you don't like it).

It is hardly about DLC but when a thread specifically designated to the DLC is brought up, that is what I refer too. I have always complimented PD on their continued progress and love this game. This is the only game I play and the only reason I bought a PS3.

I understand if you used my quotes to add signifigance to where ever you think your points stand, but don't take what I say out of context.

Updates have all been great, ive said that about every one and I am not a whiney teenager on this forum. I speak truthfully about my feelings about whatever situation is current.

So, overall, I agree, it is hardly about DLC, but that is what this thread is about correct? If so, that is all my comments were meant to address....understood?

After the disappointing december DLC this is more like it. This will be my second dlc i buy

and for the moaners. Do what i did in december. Shut up and move on

PD would have to be idiots to not realize that DLC is a big part of the future of gaming.

And as many people as there are complaining about it, there are probably about a thousand times more people who'd complain if they DIDN'T offer DLC at some point.

As has been mentioned numerous times already: If you don't want it, don't buy it. It really is just that simple.

Sure, but can't a little discussion and debate go on over it? Not over the contents, that's just silly, but the price. Which is what this thread is about, no?

I remember someone complaining that this track was in gt4 so automatically it should be in gt5. My answer to that is they never promised it and if they spent time updating it they should be paid for the work they do

Why is PD any different from other game developers? They have no reason not to be charging for DLC and setting the price to whatever they see fit. The DLC packs are not outrageously expensive nor are they cheap.

PD is not "above" charging us for DLC, anyone that whines otherwise need to find something else to do with their time.

As I've already said, I'd like to use the facility but i'm not paying £3.20 extra for the privilege. Something similar could have and should have been on the disc.

Except it's not and you can either pay for it or pass up on it, nothing to argue about.

It's good people have police around here to tell them what they can and can't complain about.

Simon uk you have been hammering the this should be in the game already for alot of posts and each time someone different tells you what everyone else knows is that pd didnt promise it at launch so going on about it doesnt change it
