Well, there's a base, and a head. You launch the head from beside the base and try to insert it in the base by pulling it out of the air and onto the base after it reaches a certain height. It requires some skill and initially is quite difficult. After it inserts itself for the first time, you use your thumb to try and launch it off the base and back onto the base without it falling off. If it lands you use your thumb to launch the head off of the base in a manner that allows it to land on the tip of the base again as many times as possible until the streak is broken and the head falls off of the
