Change the camber and toe in a pit stop? That may take a while.

Change the SPRING RATES?! unless your in a 24 hr. race, a 20 minute pitstop may not be a good idea.... and thats assuming that the new spring rate you request is one that you brought with you to the track.if not, then a pit crew memeber runs off to the spring-making machine...

that reminds me, I think it should cost a couple hundred bucks every time you change the spring rate, unless you go back to a spring rate you've already had.

I think the realism factor drops if we can pause to radio our pit strategy. Sometimes the drivers can't communicate what they like because of radio problems, etc. I think the popup menu as you enter the pits is all you should get, and if you don't make any specific selections, it runs with a default set you enter before the race. You could even save specific setups (tyre type, fuel load) and just select an option, have say 3 preconfigured. Car changes... In free run mode I think you should be free to enter your garage, tune, and restart, however in a race that's not really feasible, so beyond some utterly simplistic things like downforce, no. Changing computer settings is generally done via the steering wheel if it's going to be done at all, it takes time to take off an engine cover and plug in a laptop.

Online Pit stopps??..perhaps but (as u said EAGLE) there can be problems...but how is it in the Computer racing-games which u can play in INTERNET,too??? u can´t make pit stops there so GT4 will be the FIRST GAME WITH A PIT STOP(except the PS2-Game "le mans 24 hours" from 2000/2001 because there u have an interactive PIT STOP)!!!

Sure, some people find pit strategy as one of the fascinating aspects of racing, its one more variable in the equation.

The GT series encompasses All aspects of racing, and that has got to be one of the reasons as to why it has such a huge following 👍

Tell me about it. I saw about one overtaking move in the French GP (which has only just finished). The race was won in the pits. How boring is that. F1 needs to be more about the drivers ability and less about pit stragegy.

GT4 needs better pit stops. Leverting cars and no pit crew was a bit odd in GT3. So much for PD only doing things if they do it 100% right first time. If they have animated pit crews, and with the added factor of needing fuel as well, that should spice things up a bit.

You obviously missed quite a bit because of the French happy coverage - there was more overtaking than most of you are making out. That said, there wasn't much, there never is. To suggest pit stop strategy isn't important in real racing is unrealistic, it's a critical part in any motorsport, especially in close racing.

Drivers themselves do not make the actual strategic calls on such matters however, that's left to people like Ross Brawn who have far more facts and figures in front of them with which to make the decision.

I also think it's rude to suggest that the car carries Michael to all his wins or that it's not driver skill determining the end result. That's bull**** and if you want to carry on with it, by all means do so, but we have a Formula 1 section where I amongst other members will be waiting to hear your views.

Pit stops will have a real crew and I can't see a problem with them taking place online. It'll be something new it seems but nothing groundbreakingly challenging.

Do you all think there will be pitcrews for everyone? What I mean is, when you are in a endurance race, do you think the other 5 cars will have pitcrews? I hope so and I hope there are more than just pitcrew men on the track, a checker guy would be awesome and other people who be on the tracks while there's a race going on.

Look at those guys in the coats, what would be their purpose? I bet the human element will be big when gt4 hit

GT-One Lover - Sry to rain on your parade but the strategy is not the sole work of the driver. In most cases it's the technical directors job to watch the race and see when others pit and when traffic might effect their drivers lap times. Sure the driver gets involed before the race, but the TD has final say and we've heard from Ferrari about how they changed strategy mid race. As much as I hate to say it. Michael Schumacher is by far the best driver in F1. Still not as good as Clarke, G. Hill, Moss or Fangio. Those guys won races/championships without having to resort to dirty tactics, unlike Schumacher.

Eagle - Sry m8, but 99% of over taking moves are either at the start or when drivers pit. That for me is not racing. I remember the good old days when they didn't have to pit in F1 unless they had a puncture or lost their front wing. Those were some of the best days of F1. Today it's all about technology and who's got the biggest budget, and not who's the best driver. F1 viewing figures have never been so low Worldwide.

cobragt - I was just thinking about other teams having their own pit crews as well. I hope they do, it woudl be a really nice touch. Also having marshalls waving flags etc would be a nice as well. I think it would be a bit much to ask for them to come running out to recover a breaken down/fuel empty car. Maybe in GT5

I really doubt engine stalling will be included, but if it stalls on the grid, you'll only have 15 seconds to get out of the car and into a new one

I guess that is reference to Montys Disqualification.
However the rule is he had to be out of the car more than 15 seconds before the official start time, and not within 15 seconds of stalling or braking down.

I like the Idea of a Pop up. Once you get into the auto drive, have a menu pop up and let you select what Tires you want (if you own others) and any other options. The pop up should stay up until you stop. If you are too slow, too bad. You'd have to make selevtions quickly. (First time I've actually avored a pop-up )

I cant see the pic, but if it's the pics from the E3 presentation with the guys at the top and bottom of the screen in different coloured jackets, I think they're race marshalls.
