If you fancy having a laugh, read the exceptions in your car insurance policy.

It's a standard clause worldwide, to my knowledge.

The cars were racing on a (disused) runway. He must have thought it wasn't disused and tried to land.

That's what I was thinking, I still believe there is a slight chance it was some kind of stunt, I could be wrong though

Erm, How can you NOT see a speeding object the size of a car on a runway when landing? Something is definately fishy with that article. I don't believe it was purely accidental.

because most planes when they land, land with their noses tilted up say about 15 degrees (give or take 10) so they can have a soft landing, and not slam on the ground with all 3+ wheels landing at the same time...so the back wheels hit first, softening the landing for the front wheels (with the aid of flaps)

Isn't an one seater supposed to have an open cockpit??
And if so, the pilot would have seen the car very clearly when landing.

How slowly would the plane be travelling on landing approach though? The car was going 100mph, so it's possible it was going faster than the plane...I don't think planes have rear-view mirrors... ;)
