Will you be buying a digital or hard copy of the game?

Okay, I've caved in and pre ordered it. Now I need a new wheel. (PSU on DFGT plug stopped working last night). I'll sort that out when I've got time.

Anyway. I pre ordered at about 8AM and it then gave a 16 hour timer so that's when it downloads at midnight then.

It doesn’t look like we’re going to have a preorder on the US Playstation Store, sadly. It turns out that for preorders to be accepted on the Store, we need to apply for a spot eight weeks in advance. Because of the moving release date, we were unable to do that. Once the game had gone Gold, we felt it more important to get the game out there rather than delay just to lock in preorders.

Unfortunately, we can’t secure a slot now. Lord knows, I’ve tried. I know it’s a pain in the neck, and we are doing what we can – but our powers are limited! Really appreciate the support, though.

Once the game is available via the US Playstation Store, bear in mind that our digital versions come with both the Limited Edition and Modified Car Packs – so you’re not losing out on any preorder content.

TL;DR - No preorder, but we still get the car packs. Sigh of relief.

OK I understand it will be there eventually. So if I want to play it on the 12th, I need to get a phisical copy. Right? See that sucks because I don't own disk. Every game I have is digital.

Yea it does. Just go with digital UK. It cost me $61.00 from the UK PSN store using cdkeys.com. Will be downloading in just over 12 hours.

Thanks @GranTurismo guy 👍 I was looking for this on another thread as my Ps4 even wired seems to take an hour a gb (ish) (I have a 3mbps slow connection-not near an exchange so might go fibre optic soon) I have now set everything up manually to google dns 8.8.8.8 and it seems a bit faster but I shall see when Pcars 18-19gb starts :) Maybe I will start downloading on the 6th and Play it by the 12th :lol:
 
Just ordered PS4 version from Gameseek for £35... So annoyed at GAME !!! saved up and put credit on a gift card and guess what ?? You can't preorder a game from GAME using a gift card as payment for a preorder.. I have to wait for the game to be released first, How stupid, and annoying is that?!!

There's probably a valid reason for that. What's the benefit of putting your own money on a gift card??
 
Just wondering: Project Cars is being released for EU today on PS4. Is the game unlocked for all timezones simultaneously? Or is it done gradually, meaning eastern countries will get it a few hours earlier than western regions?

When I go to cdkeys all I see is the Pc version of Pcars. Isn't it supposed to be the ps4 edition?
* I was looking to put the code into the ps4, so I can download the UK edition.

Yes indeed, tried this morning and nothing, but just booted PS4 after I saw your post and the files are in my queue and downloading. Slow as ever due to PSN's crappy servers but there you go.

(Changing DNS doesn't help, it's placebo in case anyone thinks it's doing anything - it might speed up IP address lookup initially, but it won't improve transfer rate as once the PS4 has the IP in its DNS cache it doesn't look it up again for a long while and there is no way to speed up the actual data transfer from PSN to your ISP as this is down to routing and peering bandwidth).

Two files downloading at the moment - main file 3.83GB and add-on of 817MB. The two car packs haven't started so not sure their size, but this seems very small - I thought the game would be like 20-25GB :confused: :dunce: :crazy:

3.833GB here too. Maybe there is more than one part :S
 
Are you guys manually downloading or is it auto download?

I won't get home till 7pm but hoping it will be there ready when I get home!

Just had the Mrs check mine. Says one download left with 50mins on it. Everything else says waiting to install :D

If you've left your ps4 in rest mode and you've set it to allow internet connection in rest mode then it will already be downloading
 
I'm now getting back from work ,I've let this morning my tv and PlayStation on .good news .
Still one hour to travelling ,hope everything goes well .
