Just had an idea... Who would win around the circuit? If all cars would do a lap, which group would have the fastest average? Premiums or Standards?

Some of the worst cars in the game are Premium. Makes perfect PD sense. Some of the best race cars are standards, so them.

the premiums have three big outliers that will set blazingly fast times (the X1, F10 and F2007), while the standards have only one quick outlier (the FGT). the standards also only have four monotonously slow cars (fiat 500F, kubelwagen, schwimmenwagen, samba bus), while the standards have far more (things like the beetle, kei cars and kei truck). the premiums have about 50 race cars in 200 cars, while the standards have about 150 race cars in 800 cars, so in the end I think the premiums would win for sure.

Premiums. If you're taking the average time of every premium vs every standard, then the X1, F10 and F2007 will make a lot of difference to the average. There's so many standard Skyline's, Impreza's, etc. So they'll drag the average down, regardless of how fast the FGT goes.

My thoughts exactly.

I think premiums will win. On the premium side, there is the X1 and Ferrari F1 cars. Even though the standard club have got the FGT, Minolta, Toyota 7 etc, there is a huge number of Mazda MX5s and kei cars which is sure to bring the average down.

The premiums have a much better average quality in terms of track speed. Look at all the k-cars and things in UCL, they would kill off the average as there are many more of those than there are LMs

Some of the best cars are Standard, I'm a cockpit user, but I definitely don't mind driving a Standard car.
The X1 being Premium doesn't bother me, I hate that car anyways.
Cars like some of the Le Mans racers are Standard, and the fantastic Honda Odyssey too!

I vote standards. They are more realistic and fit the GT style. The X1 is an arcade car. Not realistic in GT terms if you ask me. The F1 cars belong to F1 circuits. The standard racecars fit the GT title perfectly and there is a bigger variety despite the numerous repeated models.

If 200 premiums and 200 hand picked standards did a lap, the standards would win quite comfortably.

On the other hand if 200 premiums and ALL standards did a lap the premiums would win comfortably, simply for the fact that all the MX5's, Miata's, Sirion's, Storia's, Pick-up trucks and other slow cars would drag the standards average way down.

That answers the question then

I can't believe that 22 people have actually voted standards?? Possibly a bunch of 12 year olds that think that because there are more standards, standards are faster...

The premiums, easily.

There's some slow stuff in the premium dealership. However, most of what you can get is actually pretty fast. The various NASCARs and SuperGT/JGTC cars will make for a nice average and the F10 and F2007 and especially the X2010 will push the average even further. Out of the 200 premium cars, 25% (or something) are race cars. Another 25% would probably be super cars like the Ferraris and Lambos. Then there's, like 35% of average cars (Skylines and the like) and maybe 15% of slow stuff (Miatas and what not).

On the standard side of things, I'd guess that 50% of the cars are slow stuff, 20% are average, 15% on super car levels and 15% race cars, roughly.

That'd probably be incredibly one sided in the premium cars' favor.

Speed isn't everything, I enjoy driving my Miata more than the F10.
