it seems that sony learned something with GT6.
 
I've probably said this before, but this is the easiest high impact value add feature PD could do... Assuming they could even do it right.

Or at the very least a robust enough structure to do proper leader board enabled championships including race rules with the online side of things. It is a more natural evolution for online...
 
If they add AI cars to online championships using the community features it seems an easy win to me. It should have the ability to set the individual cars allowed (and used by the AI) and/or the spread of pp in a race and AI driver level. If that could also be run offline and shared as an event (not just with friends) then even better.

Payouts would then be dependent on the race length (timed or laps), number of opponents, tyres used, pp used, AI level, aids used etc.

The tools are pretty much there as PD use them to create events already. They don't have to reinvent the wheel (pardon the pun). Just share so we can play the game the way we want to.

Even GT5 Prologue has a much better arcade mode than GT6. I tried it the other day and the racing was better by far.
 
A race creator would be the next logical step after the course maker is done. But they do have a lot of work to do, so I don't think it will arrive for GT6. With GT7 it's even more important that it's there, as online gameplay on the PS4 requires a subscription the offline gameplay really needs to step up.

with so many updates promissed yet to deliver, i dought PD has time to work on a full race editor for offliners,
but the updates will be finished some day and i think both sony and polyphony knows by now that GT needs something else, i think the clues for what gt needs are abvious, its just a matter of reading the features suggested at gtplanet.

... it was also that easy by gt5 ... :indiff: ... so ...

There's one chance for a race creator in GT6 as I see it, and that is if they want to add that feature to GT7 and test run it in GT6 first to see how it would work.

i also think PD can make it for gt6, not as fast as desired but its possible, thats why i made this thread, to show PD how relevant such feature or tool is for offliners and the brand itself

It would be ridiculously easy for PD to add some race creator features to GT6. For example, field class (if not specific car), one-make, mechanical damage, tire wear/fuel use, and racing for a length of time rather than a number of laps are all features already present in the game. They just aren't available for us to use with our own custom races.

The championship/community/sharing features that have been discussed here - while totally worthwhile IMO - would require actual new work and, considering how far behind schedule PD has gotten, are highly unlikely to make it into GT6. And that is assuming PD even wants us to have these sorts of things in the first place.

but the later this features come to gt6 the stranger will be hearing about gt7, even if only a prologue.
no need for gt titles every year like fifa from EA.
- i also think a proper race creator would be easy to build but knowing that its not in their original plans and having yet so much to work, it will not be a priority to PD, unless Sony or PD finaly understood its central relevance:
track creator, GPS tracker, to use where? at arcade? online sharing will be good but not enough - i must say that i do like all features promissed and even the moon, VGT, gt academy or night stars, i just think that without a good race editor players cant give all those good things the proper use they deserve.

the future data logger and gps visualiser shows the confidence pd has in gt's simulation engine.
i also have that confidence, the simulator, although simple, its good. now we just need somewhere to use it

Perhaps there was a misunderstanding. By championship/community/sharing, I'm not referring to the features PD has promised for GT6 and not yet delivered. I am referring to suggestions for a more in-depth and complex race creator where you could do things like create your own championship of x amount of races, and maybe even share it with other people. I would love to do that, but it would require more than what is currently in the game. I find it unlikely at best that we would see this in GT6 even if PD wanted to do it, considering all the promised features they have yet to deliver on.

The basic features - grid starts, custom fields, damage, and the like - on the other hand, are already there and just need to be enabled for arcade mode or whatever PD wants to call it. My first priority is to get the basics enabled for single, offline races in GT6, and then push for the bigger stuff as a sort of "future project" if you will.

In effect, I see it as two separate parts of a larger whole. That's just my feelings on it. :cheers:

someone understands, and might have learned it with GT6

about PD, i dont understand if they dont see any problem with the gameplay or just never talk about it but they know our opinion for sure, thats why dislike so much the lack of communication from PD side.
 
This is the main feature i would like to see added and have been wanting this ever since GT1.

But to be honest, i have now given up hope of ever getting this, i think if they were going to add a event creator of sorts they would have done this by now.

And with it been PD, what ever the fans want, they seem to go and do the oposite.

well, we, fans, have made this thread and others like the one at GT6 feature suggestions so that PD knows for sure
how we feel about this feature. GT needs a FULL race editor, its the first feature to add in a racing game like GT

GT PSP Career Mode is what every GT game needs.

Polyphony did it PERFECTLY years ago.

Now they just need to repeat what they did PERFECTLY and everyone would be happy.

And in respect to heritage of the Series, Event Creator should open once the final race in S group is finished (as it was in GT2).

Yes GT2 randomizer was the best :bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:
 
I really hope PD listens to the fan base on this & provides us with more options to create our own races because Man GT6 has gotten boring fast. My fear is that they will read our requests, take it on board, and then give us another rover vehicle this time to drive on Mars......

rover/moon missions are very good, the problem is again the lack of use, it ends in those 3 missions. why?
i wanted the moon...and mars, since gt5, but along with the real side, i imagined them with the litle fantasy of modified racing buggies and "rallycross", costum layouts, ... races. i'm sure cientists can build a car that could race in other planets.

racing gives an use to the content but its not all, having this historic real car is very good. we, humans, put a car in the moon! i even want more, cars from the 1920,30,40!old and slow cars, but real and part of history, some quite beautiful. obviously, slow content cant be the majority, we need racing to give it all a meaning.
i could say that my main concern with gt is the gameplay, gt lacks of racing! gt needs sportcars but 1 or 2 slowers in there wount hurt for sure. adds value.

:indiff: still no word about a "full race creator" for the offliners. (...and is still very difficult to unlock cars)

with all my honest respect and true appreciation for all the great content and features added to gt6 i cant resist to say, or try to recall PD, that i, an offliner , still cant use GT6 as i would like without a "full race creator" and there is no evidence that PD thinks any different.

... pleeeease!?
 
Unfortunately, at this point I've become convinced that Kaz's vision for GT does not include good offline racing. I think this is the driving factor in why we continually see so little effort put into the offline side of things from a racing aspect.

Since I now consider myself an "offliner" - not by choice, but due to a lack of consistent free time - I am putting my hopes in pCARS and planning to get a new computer rather than a PS4 as I would pretty much only be getting it for GT7.

I still hope that Kaz will prove me wrong, but I feel he is now taking the GT series in a different direction from what I am looking for.
