Clearly you guys don't know the GTR.Let's get realistic for a second, PD. A Nissan GT-R stock cannot, will not out perform a Ferrari 599 on any track. Since when does a 600 hp Ferrari have less performance points than a 400hp Nissan? Seriously, Fuji 750 is mobbed by GT-Rs. Let's stop being bias towards the home team and give other makes a chance.
Good, One less complainer.I just started playing the Historic GT mod and the physics/sounds are great. (I found away around to having to buy rFactor/activation code).
PD, why can't you create a physics engine like pc sims? GT5p still feels some what arcadish/gamish compared to Historic GT and that after more than 10 years of development. Shame on you PD!
If GT5's physics will not become better, than it is bye, bye GT series for me personal.
Yesterday, I tried to lock up the front wheels of the F430 which isn't difficult if you don't have ABS and you have set the front brakes at 10 (S1 tires). I was still able to control and steer the car, when you lock up the front wheels. This and other issues about GT5p's physics engine are major flaws! If this was possible IRL, then we wouldn't need ABS on our cars!
Free roam city "tracks".
You definitely need glasses!Ranko_SDSo you will say bye to GT series because you can't lock up the front wheels???
We have to complain or GT series will stay the same for years.Clearly you guys don't know the GTR.
Good, One less complainer.

Haha, don't underestimate the GTR, watch some videos on how the GTR was conceived, this car is too good.
I was on fastest laps last week comparing Suzuka to the GT5P game and how it is far off from reality on sport tyres. GTR comes with sport tyres, but its only prologue and its very hard to scale and translate real scenario to a console game. Just a quick test though, just initial impression. I think the game will change (hopefully) for GT5 and Nurbergring comparisons, its just beta
How about a leaderboard during the race so you can keep a eye on the other drivers

The GTR 'Ring time has been mentioned as being a bit suspect in Autocar - something to do with it being fitted with 'special' tyres.
Obviously it's a very potent car, but I'll take a GT3 RS instead please... speed and efficiency aren't everything... I'd rather have a bit more soul.
wheel/controller only, type of internet connection allowed

The tire issue was just a rumor when Nissan first announced the ring time right after the launch of the car, which had already been dismissed. See the following Autocar article regarding the ring time of the production GT-R.
"The new Nissan GT-R has smashed the production car lap record at the Nurburgring Nordschleife. Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn announced that a production version of the GT-R driven by Tochio Suzuki posted a lap time of 7min 29secs during testing last week, nine seconds quicker than the previous test.
Ghosn confirmed that the time means the GT-R, a base-spec Japanese car running with revised chassis settings, has delivered on one of its original design objectives: to be the fastest production supercar in the world.
This proves that Nissan can compete against anyone, he said.
The news gives an interesting perspective on unofficial timings of a Skyline GT-R V-Spec prototype caught testing at the Nordschleife, where observers suggested it was lapping in around 7min 25secs. This news means that the production GT-R V-spec is likely to be even quicker than those figures suggest. "

If someone were to give either a GT-R or GT3 RS to me for free, I will pick the Porsche for sure. However if I have to buy it with my own money, I will buy the GT-R and bank the 50K USD difference.
Penalties should be more severe when ramming someone. These bunch of a-holes only remember to brake after they hit you and put you in the sand. Hate it when ppl dont have a sense of competion.
That's the original Autocar article... which was superseeded by a column Steve Sutcliffe wrote (about manufacturers massaging 'Ring times in general) in which he basically called Nissan out for using non-standard tyres on the GTR to get the 7.29 time.
wheel/controller only

If you can provide a link, I would love to read about it. Did he "think" they are massaging the time or does he have proof? Just wondering.
One thing I know about Fastestlaps.com is many Porsche drivers are calling any time done by a GT-R that beats a Porsche BS; So Fastestlaps.com are very careful when they log GT-R's time to their site.
To think that Nissan would cheat about their ring time really doesn't make sense to me as it is something that can be easily tested by a legit source like SportAuto.
P.S. I am neither a GT-R fanboy nor a Porsche fanboy.

cars should b solid the whole time your racing but they should go ghost once the game feels that thers been contact that way thers no chance of bumping but your still able to draft and what not.
