It seems that the base scoring for this drivetrain is scewed. They are much faster than their pp points would indicate. NSX is an obvious example....not that that is all thw nsx has problems with.

4WD definitely has an edge with the cars I drive, not surprisingly. And it doesn't seem to factor much, if at all, in performance points. I try to take this into consideration when matching up with other cars by taking a lower PP car if it has 4WD. Of course, the track itself determines how much of an edge 4WD would have; not much of an edge if there are few tight corners and many long straights.

nsx seems to be one of the best of its class.. i'll agree.

i can't say the same about awd. it may make it easier to drive faster but rwd will win with a skilled driver all things equal. unless it's raining.

NSX, mcclaren and other MR setups with light small frames are amazing cars in real life. Makes sense they outclass cars of similar power/weight ratios in game.

Which is why they should be weighted more. In real life dominate cars are penalized.

It really depends on the driver, car and track. AWD will always have an advantage on off the line starts but once you get going a good FR or MR in the right enrvironment actually has an advantage over AWD.

FR and MR will make the car more pointy and nimble on its feet when it comes to direction changes and cornening, not to mention the huge weigth saving benefit of not having any awd components, rembember they add weight and mess with how quick the can point its chassis to your will.

If you are not running out of grip as long as the track and setup isn't putting you at a disadvantage you are better of on the the FR or MR if you know how to handle them. There is a reason formula 1 nascar Le man cars etc are all running RWD setups and on the other end cars like WRC runs AWD. Its not as simple as which drivetrain is superioir, it depends on othe other factors.

That said I personally have a huge bias toward AWD especially when it comes to production cars cars and beleive its superioir to the others, even with the things i Just mentioned. Many times it can goes to waste but if on the right car and setup AWD is something I enjoy a lot more than the other drive trains.

BTW I have no idea what you meant in your OP. WHether the PP for AWD cars should be higher ib gt5 becaue they are too fast, or if in real life they are faster but in gt5 they are not because you have seen their PPs are not bigger than FR or MR etc.

If I recall a great chassis is what makes a great car besides FF of course.

This is not true. There are some great handeling FF cars. On many occasions I prefer an FF car to an RWD car, because RWD car can behave more like a pendulum waiting to kill you rather than a good stable quick car.

"All things being equal" means that there is no difference in weight.

Yes. That reason is because AWD is explicitly banned from all of those series, either in practice or directly by name.
