except for the now endless amounts of X1's driven around by children online for no other purpose than to destroy the races of people trying to actually have a good time. If these pathetic little dunderclumps didnt go duping X1s at a rate that was astronomical then giving them to any child that wanted one this problem wouldnt be so pronounced now would it. It would only be a few ***** with them hell bent on destroying an otherwise enjoyable race environment.

If you don't like children with X1s then might I suggest you don't go into rooms that allow them. Or better yet, start your own room and don't allow them.

Travis pastrana, All round legend IMO is starting NASCAR this year and his new motto is "remember , don't turn right" . Anyone who knows anything about action sports will know he comes from a fmx and rally background. Just goes to show that you can combine other motorsports with NASCAR. Plus you kind of have to turn slightly right when moving out of slipstream to overtake on the outside of a straight!
So yeah. I'm British and I like NASCAR

I like the new patch. I used to dupe but I think this patch will bring me back to playing the game properly. It's a driving life sim. In rl you can magically duplicate a car for nothing. Therefore in the game you shouldn't be able to either. I think all you guys who are saying that pd said nothing about not duping therefore it is ok should stop and think, this is a company that wanted to make the most realistic driving game in the world, they didn't intend you to magically generate cars from nothing. This patch is a good thing and has brought back around to me the real reason I got this game, to have fun, not to collect all of the cars by glitching.

No they're not what? Specify.

meant to be jesting - you suggested this will devolve, and I agreed by poking fun at how silly it gets sometime.
I probably shouldn't even respond because someone (an Ultra-Super-Mega-Moderator) will refer me to the thread for irony and idiots.

1. How do you know he wasn't a guest visiting somebody and using the game?
2. How do you know the car was duped? Is it not possible that the car was just gifted to him?
3. Does the host not know how to enable proper lobby restrictions?
4. What's stopping the idiots from taking a 20,000 CR car that WASN'T duped into an online lobby and ruining your race? A first time n00b with no online friends could do this just as easily.
5. What's stopping somebody with NO skill from letting their B-spec idiots reach level 35 and then taking an X1 into a public lobby and doing the same thing, having never driven any car in the game before.

The fact is, every argument I've ever heard about this has more holes than a rotting piece of wood. I've run into idiots online in EVERY single racing game I ever played. They're a fact of life in the online gaming world. And duping/gifted/traded cars or not has nothing to do with it. Admit it, you guys just don't like the fact that people get expensive cars for nothing while you guys had to grind away for hundreds of hours to do it. If duped cars had:
- more power
- better traction
- less tire wear
- whatever, but ANYTHING what so ever to differentiate them from non-duped cars, I would be the first to stand up and condemn the practice. But they aren't any different. They're exactly the same. Anybody who's ever raced me knows what lengths I go through in my lobbies to make things fair and equal. I race by OLR rules whether I have a GTP tag in front of my PSN ID or not. But earning credits for cars is just not something that floats my boat. So I did it on occasion too. And the parallels some people draw and common pit some of you lump people who did this into just boggles the mind.

FWIW, I think the PP updates were positive in 1.07. 👍

Ok I get your point,as you said any Idiot can grind away a Bspec.Hence no skill.Duping has made this game crap.Period.It has no place and thank god PD did something.Yes I also race by the same rules you do and try to make my lobbies even

Isn't this the praise thread? 💡

Now, these forums are pretty unreadable, the haters attack the praisers and vice-versa...

I'm not saying not to complain or to praise, freedom is here for all of us I guess, but the forums are just losing structure and logic. :scared:

+1 that

Oh ok, I thought that's what you meant. I asked in a tough manner, because others were getting at me earlier. No offense.

Absolutely love how anyone immediatly thinks "I'll insult an american by reminding him he cant turn right ahahaha"

I am Pro 1.07.
There has been 4 other full release games and they where a pain in the rear quater panels to get cars traded to and from. You didn't complain then, so why start now?

This patch is for certain going to keep the game's life span going. At the same time, moaners and whinners and people who lost 135543 X1's in one day will all leave the game so that PD can then surely focus on the pure at hearts. The Straight Edge folk of Gran Turismo. Those that can accept, yes it will take a long long time to buy certain cars, but BY GOD, it will be damn worth paying over the money for something YOU'VE worked hard for.

Not someone else. Well actually, traded cars in GT are more like STIs. You have no idea who they originally came from.

Okay is the thread about the 1.07 patch or "We Europeans are better than Americans"?
I'm confused and no I'm not from the states.

This patch is for certain going to keep the game's life span going.

I disagree. I think when you take something away from a game that isn't interfering with people's ability to enjoy it, you run the risk of losing players. Less players = the possibility of less support from the developer.

take something away from a game that isn't interfering with people's ability to enjoy it,

Duping, yeah, it kinda does affect others. It means that for those who don't dupe, they're at a severe disadvantage because those that do can trade and give away anything without actually having to give it up, thus they can make far better offer's to get what they want.

If I wanted a 2J and was offering a Toyota Seven that's one thing and maybe a fair trade.
But the next guy wants a 2J but he can offer an x2010, a F1, and a chrome paint chip. Normally, he'd never give these things up, but he doesn't have to so he can offer anything he has and still keep it while getting the new car.

So unless I start duping stuff, It'll be hard to match people's offers.

I'm not really in favor of the way PD went about handling this so far, but I do support that they're aware of, and are working on the issue. People should be able to trade all kinds of cars, it's just the duplicating that ruins it. The problem is that it's difficult to stop people from duping without removing the ability to back up their save game (which should never go away).

And I still don't like that we can only send or receive 1 car per day. It should be more, 1000+ cars to collect and I can only get one per day from someone else? Meh...

I've noticed that the drift replays now display the score in real time... I know that wasn't there a while ago, was that added in 1.07?

The PP system get's a bit of tweaking, which is good. They just need to refresh the displays in the garage menu to reflect the subtraction of tires from the number...

Enjoy grinding Indy over and over and over and over and over anc over and over just to get that 5 million dollar car.

You Americans sure love doing those oval races so I'm sure this patch is right up your alley.

You're ignorant

For once, I do have to feel content about myself, and the new update, but I think that PD should just find a way to fix the "duplication system" bug in GT5 that is causing an eruption of n00bs to burst from their basements to broad daylight (which can be somewhat a bad thing)...

I used to take for granted that I could GET a free X2010, and I will admit to having three of them already, and I just couldn't stop asking for more. Yet again, on the other side of the fence, I was already about DEAD TIRED of n00bs joining such innocent rooms with fair competition and dragging out their X2010's like they're the ABSOLUTE S**T or something (which in all honesty, it makes you look retarded depending on the crowd you are playing with). It's really sickening, and I get joined by those kind of people all the time when I create a room. However, I do take pleasure in giving them the banhammer from my room with a comfortable grin slapped across my face (and that's irritating to some)...

Yet again, when a room is limited to nothing but the X2010, they can get fun, but not all the time...

What needs to be done is to fix this issue that PD has had, and that would be this "duplication system". Even though I have never duplicated myself, it's very tiresome to hear people brag about it online, especially when they have to blast their mics with obscenities about their latest "success stories". Let users give that FGT, or F10, or Lamborghini Miura, or the X2010 to that someone special, but don't let them duplicate that person's hard work they put up for getting that car in the first place...

to everyone bashing americans and how we don't know what road courses, and all, I present this:

Compare the number of comments on this thread with the ones in the petition to reverse the 1.07 update. PD should listen to the mayority.

Ryan

The list of drivers who have gone to NASCAR and referred to it as the most competitive form of racing is longer than the list of changes in 1.06. They come from F1, Indy, DTM, Rally - many disciplines managed under the FIA. I agree with Ryan on this, and would like to say - as a collector - the positives from 1.06 far outweigh the loss of trading/duping(console limits).
I used to spend 45 to 90 minutes every night moving cars back and forth, duping colors and items. I'm relieved.

So Ryan, you are one sensible Brit! What do you think of T. Bayne? (but not in this thread, we will get killed) AM I allowed to say killed?

In fact the changes provided this time around are a total slap in the face to people that paid good money for the game. Praise the update ??
No chance of me doing that. lol

What mayor even cares about GT5 anyway?

Just 'cause more people posted in there doesn't mean it's a good idea. I think that yes, they should allow us to trade whatever. But I also think that something needs to be done about duping first.

Also, just 'cause there's more posts doesn't mean that everyone who posted agrees with the topic at hand. Yourself as an example are adding posts to this thread yet you obviously don't like the patch. Why are you even here? if you hate the patch, go talk about it in the very thread that you mentioned. It's catered to exactly what you want. Leave us and our enjoyment and/or approval of the patch to ourselves.

suck it.

I'm amazed that we people from different nationalities in the year 2011 still attack each other, that really sucks, and that is so ignorant too.

Americans may not have such a vast history in race car drivers as some Europeans, Australians and Latin American dudes, but they got good stuff too.

As far as I know, many Latin American drivers (including Brazilians, Mexicans, etc.) go compete in the American LeMans series in the USA, since it is pretty competitive.

Also, Nascar is pretty underrated, that category is really complex, but guess stereotypes are too powerful around the world...

Back on topic... Let the trading subsist, but control the duping with server logs...

I have been saying this all day!!! I know this has caused a major rift between GT5'ers. A bit of Gran Turismo Civil War. I think that PD sees a problem with duping, and I don't think we can question that. Doesn't this make the dupers think, "hey, I might be doing something wrong?" I don't have a problem with dupers, I have a problem with a flooded marketplace. If you want to dupe, and say it's your god-given right, then why flood the marketplace with high end cars to better stock EVERYONE's garage? Some dupers are affecting the game for everybody enough that PD has seen a problem with it. That now, has affected everybody game. So, to every duper that says what they weren't doing anything wrong, and then flooded the marketplace with your product: I say thanks, your wrong, and it's now affected everybody.

Maybe those guys never heard about an analog concept called piracy, and its effects on the market...

Piracy indeed my friend. I don't think that they realize what they are doing are wrong. But once you dupe a car, to trade (resell,) it's really no different than reselling an MP3 or a movie. I know I will get allot of flak for that analogy, but oh well. But PD must see some wrong in it too.

The x1's became like some more Skylines in the marketplace, but yeah, let's keep the dupe going...

When my I couldn't give my extra Jaguar XJ13 away for a solstice, I knew that it was maliciousness. (No, I no longer have it.)

Well it's not all bad as that. The car's themselves aren't what's being sold with each copy of the game. The comparison would be more like you copying a few riffs or chords from a song on a CD you bought.

The people that sold cars on ebay... that's a totally different story.

But it does kind of ruin the game's economy.

Any of you guy ever played Borderlands? That game suffered the same issue and it was never dealt with. I'm glad PD is at leas trying to do something.

I don't dupe. Nor do I have any problem with duping whatsoever. I could understand if the makers of the game did, though I would argue with them forever, it is there game. Duping has made it much easier for me to get the cars I want in the marketplace. All I do is double up on "rare" cars, I now hate that word, and eventually somebody who dupes who needs it to complete a collection will give whatever I want for it. Just now I traded a Genki Hyper Silvia for a Chapperal 2D. Often the people who dupe will just give away cars if you're cool with them.

Man I hate the zero mile cult, even more than the "rare" thing. I always sit on my cars, take them for a little run in practice mode just to eradicate the concept from my "GT Life"...

Damn geeks-nerds... This is not a Magic card game... or an action figure crap with "pristine" boxing, LOL
