So what's everyone online record looks like so far? That's even if you even attempt online yet. Me,19 wins:( (Should have way more than this) 51 podiums I think and other is like 58. I really need to start improving this.:(
Mine is 74 wins from about 160 races I think. But it's mostly just me and another friend along with any randomers that decide to join, oh and some ai too!

That's a very unusual monitor you've got there, it looks very wide indeed! What aspect ratio is it?:)

Its a 21:9 ratio monitor, so same ratio as a movie theatre. I used to run triple 1080p monitors on my PC and for GT5 but ditched them a while ago. With the arrival of PCars I wanted to get back to a widescreen set up but didn't want the hassle (and cost!) of three of everything so this is the happy medium. I was a little worried that it wouldn't match a triple screen setup but it is fantastic to use.

How do you like the curved screen? Do you notice it's curved when you're driving?

I haven't noticed the curve at all. Once I'm 'into' the game the edges of the monitor just disappear and the cockpit of the car just fills my vision and the 3440 x 1440 resolution makes PCars looking even more stunning than it did on my 40" 1080p Bravia. This is the greatest racing game I have ever played.

Have only done 2 hotlap sessions with my new setup (T300 RS, T3PA, Playseat Challenge) so I am still getting accustom to driving with a wheel. Can anyone suggest a car to use as a good trainer? I was using the Ford Sierra last night and that was doing pretty good but I still got a ways to go to be competitive. Still its an awesome experience driving with a wheel.

This is only my opinion/suggestion but when I first started with a wheel, I found the GT cars easier to manage and get accustomed to my wheel. Use all assists until you get comfortable and then proceed to eliminate one assist at a time as needed.

Keep in mind I have trouble driving road cars, most likely due to my GT obsession but if GT cars aren't your cup of tea, try the same technique with a road car! Enjoy the wheel life!

Thanks Oso. I will give that a try later today. Waiting for the patch to release in the US. Apparently its out overseas.

I absolutely love the Ginetta G40 (junior) it's my goto car of choice for learning a new track, it's not too fast, not too slow and behaves itself on the handling .... but it will bite you if you push it too far, I think it'd be ideal to learn to use a wheel with :)

Oh and I'd recommend learning with assists just set to real, or you'll end up having to learn all over again if you start with everything on max

I have a curved tv as well and you don't notice the curve at all once you get immersed in something, be it a game, movie etc.
But the one thing I did notice is that its very hard to watch from an angle, I've had friends around and I've had to pull the tv out from the corner so they could see it more directly because the picture quality takes a nose dive when viewing it from any sort of angle.
But luckily enough when I'm watching it from right in front of it there's no issues. The curve is just a gimmick for me, if it didn't have it I still would've bought it though simply for the 4k :D

I can't wait for 4k to become more mainstream and cheap. And more media has to support it as well. I saw one at the store and it looked amazing.

No that would be the 21:9 TV/monitor :eek::eek:

You can pick one of those up for 200 bucks already, albeit quite a small one 30/70 cm's, @PzR Slim is that the size you own, yours seems bigger?

In any case, this looks like a very attractive deal and might mean the end of triple screens.

Yeh the picture quality is amazing no doubt. It really shows up the inferior quality of bad hd though, be it a ropey hd channel or game. But when it's a decent channel or game it looks amazing. And I can't wait for more 4k content aswell! And now since the ghosting has been fixed on project cars, that looks brilliant now too!

Mine is 34". Not sure I would be happy with anything smaller to be honest.

It was JonZ, the guy responsible for a lot of great videos over the years. I think he does this kind of stuff for a living, so it's always top notch material

"...the end of triple screens". I wouldn't go that far... I have the 34" 3440x1440 LG (approx. $800) and while games looks great it still doesn't match the peripheral vision of triple screens (typically "5760" wide resolution). I still have my 3 27" screens but switched to this ultra-wide so I could run games at max settings with a single GTX980. I don't want to bother with SLI/CrossFire - been there, done that, and "in my mind" not worth the hassle. Pricing is also steep for these ultra-wides so the cost savings over triples is not really there. It is a decent option though.

@LogiForce did you make that video? Im at work and after watching it, all I want to do is get home and play. Whoever made it, deserves an award, good stuff!

I am not Jonz and it says "Jonz Movies", who is a community member here and at WMD.
He is the one that deserves all the credit and than some. Truly epic stuff!

I finally got my hands on the Racing Icons and Limited Edition car packs and they're absolutely brilliant. I can't think of any car that I would not want in the pack. All the cars have the correct sounds and it really makes me wonder how GT got them so wrong. The wait was totally worth it.

I didn't realize there was a forum here for this game, is it any good? I've been
thinking about buying it, the graphics look outstanding. Would you recommend it?

Definitely if you want a true simulation racing game (not a car collecting/ tuning one). It has some bugs that need to be ironed out and some features that need to be added, and you might have to dial in your wheel and settings a bit. But afterwards it's the most rewarding racing experience since GT4 IMO.

Mister dog seemed to nail it. I've ran into several hiccups but when everything comes together it's something special. Big smiles are not uncommon, whether you're racing or hot lapping. Go buy it now or in a month or two to allow time for bug squashing, your choice. Just don't miss it.

On the community events leaderboards (PC), why aren't ghosts available for all the top times? And is it possible to view those ghosts as a replay?

I used to run a triple monitor setup and was concerned that a 21:9 wouldn't have the same impact as a triple screen setup but I've been pleasantly surprised by how good it is. Once I'm concentrating I really don't notice the edges of the screen. The added resolution really does make a big difference as well imo and of course the continuous screen is a big advantage over triple screen. I've also been running GTX 780Ti's in SLi for the past year and have zero issues with them. A few years ago I had an SLi setup and would agree that it was all a bit of a hassle but things seem to have improved greatly since then. Apart from the extra memory even a Titan X doesn't seem to make much sense for me over my SLi setup.

Just get the Oculus Rift or Vive, all problems solved. THAT will bring the end of triples next year.

This, this and this! I currently have a DK2 and it's really a phenomenal experience other than the low res. Fingers crossed the consumer model is going to address that and it will be everything I hop. So psyched that MS have come on board as well.

2 things though, you will look like a dork and you can't see the buttons on your wheel :)
Not sure I care how much of a dork I look like for the experience it gives. I would think the vast majority of people would say we look like dorks sat in our sim setups playing a computer game with a toy wheel anyway :)

And really don't see the buttons as an issue.
