It's going to happen no matter how many people complain about it. So yes people should get used to buggy games at release, welcome to the next gen.
Welcome to the next gen of games that you choose to play. Ive played tons of games that have been virtually bug-free.

We'll I haven't seen a bug free game yet.

BF4 - unplayable at release, still has serious issues 1.5 years later

Driveclub - online didn't work for months

GTA Online - constant crashing, character deletes, next gen servers very unstable at launch

Advanced Warfare - quick reload bug, map exploits, game not downloading all the way, losing emblems

Rocket League (best game on ps4 no question about it) - crashes mid-game

Planetside 2 - if you think pCars crashes a lot then don't attempt to play this, different language menus

Hardline - horrible net code and match making

Project CARS is no different.

Publishers/distributors and fans all want game development to be faster and faster. This is what happens when you get what you ask for. Everyone complained about delays and now everyone complains about bugs. If they would of released a bug free game there would be more delay and more complaining about delays. So pick the lesser of the two evils.

Nice taste with Rocket League. ;) All the games you mentioned are PS4 games. Just about every game I have played on my Wii U has been absolutely spot-on and bug-free(or with tiny issues although I havent encountered a single issue myself through 28 games). Next gen doesnt have to be full of faults, developers just need to know what they can deliver on and what they can't. Its fair enough that boundaries must be pushed, but not at 60 quid a pop to consumers.

Ok I didn't know you meant Wii. I was talking about ps4.

You forgot to include AC Unity in your list... :sly:

Bloodbourne, Destiny, The Order, Wolfenstein, Mortal Kombat, Far Cry 4, Dying Light, The Witcher...

None of those had major bugs by release date time frame. And I enjoyed them all.

So, whats your point?

Literally every PS4 game I've bought has had major bugs at launch.
i don't think any of my other PS4 games have major bugs. in fact, i can't think of many minor bugs either. maybe i got lucky and only bought solid games that were tested fully. until pCARS, of course.

Cheers mate, you saved me a bit of cash there. Downloading now 👍

My first PC game :)
I hope you've got beefy pc :D I nearly killed mine with the RIDE demo

I'm sure you could almost hear it saying 'why are you doing this to meee?!'

Yeah it's one of the strongest arguments for buying a PC.
Dont forget its had backwards compatibility since the start. For Sims, pc is the way to go especially as we can use apps that connect to the games. I'm interested in the fact that xbox is now going to have basic mods.

not to go in a PC vs console thing here, but to each their own advantages, consoles work better for me (also mods are for Fallout only).

Holy crap! I played pCARS today and what a massive difference in performance there was. :) I didn't get any of the horrible frame drops I used to get. It looked gorgeous too, I don't know what they changed but it worked. I'm on Xbox by the way.

Good read. Thanks. Will set to 1 then instead of zero.👍

Not sure that's such a good idea. From my testing the PS4 at 0 is using MSAA at the same levels of the XBO. With it enabled (1) the MSAA is reduced and TXAA is added (but at such a low value that it's essentially doing nothing).

So while you will gain 3fps in the rain with 35 cars, you'll lose graphical quality/clarity and reduce your AA levels overall.

The reason their is a performance hit at 0 is because it's using real AA (MSAA) which is not easy on the hardware, where as uses less GPU/CPU grunt as it's an abomination of an AA solution.

Yes it's been a lot better after a couple of patches. There's another (1.5) on the way but I couldn't tell you what's in it :D
