NOS - I have fitted nitrous-oxide to my Lancer TME and you can use 50 or 100ps shots (selectable before a race) you use it by pressing R1 and there's a level meter which shows how much laughing gas you have left. The extra speed you gain is pretty insane and although it's very fun it seems to be a bit unfair to the other cars on track as you completely trounce them with it.

If i'm understanding your post correctly you can use Nitrous on road courses! Or can you just use it on drag tracks???

I hope its the latter, NOS on roadcourses will suck when hot lap records are concerned.

December 28, 2004- GT4's finally freaking out (in Japan). You all are some lucky dogs to be playing this game before the rest of us. Sounds like this should be a contender for "Game of the Year 2005," if not "Best Racing Game of 2005." Why '05? America's not getting it in 2004 at Wal-Mart or GameFly or whereever, so it's up to some game company to take down GT4 (if they can). I've still wanted this game and didn't complain much about delay after delay. Until PD thought they had the formula right, they'll release it. And sure enough, I can't wait to play this bad boy. I bet if being a good video game is a crime, GT4 would be on Death Row getting the electric chair!
 
Yeah man all this new info has got me wanting the game even more i knew this would happen when it released in Japan we would get all new info ! :) i dont getwhy the delay is 3 monthes though...i guess it takes that long to do everyhting..oh well..its goingto be worth the wait 👍

i read somewhere that most of the delay is just from making all the copys for the U.S. release.
 
Can chaser or someone tell me if the the mazda rx 2 3 4 5 are in the game cause thats all i really want in it thx someone

3 Monthes though? thats alot of time jsut for that they cam make well over 1 million a day..(if you go to ps.com you can watcha video on how disks are made) i thoguht it was of translateing the text and everything...i guess we will never ooffically know will we.. 👎

no we will probobly never know the real reason why, they probobly want to see how the sales go in japan before releasing here.

Maybe..but do you really thing it would do bad? or SCEA think it would be bad? i dunno hard to belive they could think that with over 40 million copyies sold...but maybe we will find out in a later interview with Ky..hopefulyl we will.

I went thru and counted them...there are 80 in that list, as promised.

By the way, thanks for all of the information, pictures, etc from everyone! I'm off to bed after more than an hour trying to go thru everything in this thread!

All the credits are on two pages in the back of the reference book! You could have saved yourself a lot of time, Maskrider! ;)
 
As for the "three month delay", we don't know that yet. It could be out next week for all we know. SCEA's just being their usual "don't give a rat's ass about the customers" bit. Considering their history of giving out information, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if I got the phone call from Gamestop before reading about it online.

gtchampion, glad you brought that site up. You know, I was thinking about gt4 doing 480p and 1080i. As I see in that site gtchamp posted, the menu screens are at 852x480. All of the pics in that link at that size so the 480p support is indeed legit. Now how would a ingame image supporting 1080i look? Now the max res of the ps2 is 1280x1024. So say if someone makes a direct feed pic with gt4 supporting 1080i, would the pic have the res of 1024? So that would be unscaling 1080i?
 
how much hours untill working day is over in hong kong? so you guys can answer all of our thirsty questions, + chaser fan , what do you think will be the impact of the nitro on the racing, will it make for unfair battles or will we all be doing the 'nitro' boost to keep up with eachother...
 
Thank u, now i know the difference between the Volz and the vibe :). The Vibe has 180 VS the Voltz 132(base engine)

why are you guys so obsessed with this ???

IMO it doesnt matter i just want to know what cars are in the game, and most importantly i want to play it !!!
 
Looks like we are getting a much bigger soundtrack this time around. About half of the credit images in the gallery are soundtrack related. It starts at the bottom of page 10 if someone wants to compile a list.

I even noticed some swedish acts in there like the Hives and Soundtrack of our lifes. Looks like the best soundtrack so far.

too bad we cant use the HDD to play our own music ;)
 
I just hope the Techno is good. Techno= best driving music..and menu music too..i love GT1's like the menus in between races or when you won a race..i like listening to those alot.
