[PS4] MONDAYS - Look for us on Project cars 2Finished

Nice too see you back Flaco:tup:👍👍

Excellent race MrTree, we both made some mistakes, I made a big one in the last couple of laps and you were able to get. Melbourne was so much better in first gear:)

No worries Jefaais your brakes were gone.👍

I enjoyed that so much - the car and track combination felt so good! I hope we get more cars of similar performance to the Escort in PC2 - maybe in the DLC.

I qualified 4th, but got ahead of Simba at the start and managed to stay ahead for about a lap. Once past he pulled away quite quickly. I was on my own just enjoying the car and track, but started lapping the AI cars at about half distance - they seemed to appear in groups of three. It was very satisfying concentrating hard, getting in a few good laps and bridging the gap to the next group of AI. I managed to get past two more AI on the last lap.

A big welcome back to @Flaco13 - a really good turnout and great racing!

I'll post the points table later - normally I take the positions off the information which @AndreasR posts. These are provisional results - please let me know if there are any errors:

1st Flaco, 2nd Simba, 3rd Jefaais, 4th Sick, 5th Mr Tree, 6th John.

Does anyone have a good wheel tune for the Escort? It's always so tail happy and wheel spinny

That's the fun of the whole car! I don't get any wheelspin, but the tail happy nature of the car fits with my memory of the real car. (Personally I don't change anything - I just race the car on default settings and don't bother changing anything on the wheel either).

I'm reminded of another memory of my sister (sadly long departed) and her Escort Mark One - she once confessed that she had driven all the way to Chesterfield - about 200 miles down the motorway, flat out in third gear! She had forgotten to change into top and had been completely baffled as to why the car wouldn't go over 60 mph and was making a screaming noise! When she got onto the slip road and approached a roundabout she tried to change into 3rd gear, but couldn't get the gear lever to move - eventually she realised she was already in 3rd and had just driven about 200 miles, flat out in 3rd! She wasn't a great driver, but she was a great person!

hi guys,

this was not so fun to me.
there was an AI with problems in the warm-up en qualifi it was not only me with the problems. in the race where there also problems with gu1tar3rich and an AI, and after some laps in the race i got an connection problem. even when i had good enough internet connection. so this was not so fun to me.

greetings,

Sorry jefaais, could have been a close one.

I had no motorsound, very awful to drive.

Cheers

I really enjoyed that - I thought the track and car combination was perfect. I qualified well (3rd) about one second behind 1st and 2nd then lost a place off the grid. Unfortunately I was too tense in the opening lap and spun the car trying to keep up with the leaders and then too impatient trying to pass an AI - I went to the outside, but he slid wider than I expected and so twice I was down to last place. I fought my way back through the field - the AI were easy to pass - just taking care to take them in the right way. Then I was chasing John Wells - I started to make mistakes again by being too eager / aggressive - I think with this car you have to be gentle with the brakes and steering inputs. I calmed down, relaxed and managed to catch John. Unfortunately Jefaais disconnected and surprisingly I found myself catching Flaco - the gap came down from 12 seconds to about 5, but then Mr Tree kept catching up to me, but not quite making a pass that lasted. Then Flaco was pulling away and Mr Tree kept coming like "The Terminator". Fortunately the race ended just in time and I scored 3rd with Flaco 2nd and Simba 1st - congratulations to Simba and Flaco. Based on qualifying Jefaais would have been on the podium not me, but sadly he disconnected.

Mr Tree / John Wells - please confirm your finish positions - Simba has you as 5th and 4th.

What another great race, shame 3rich, Jefaais got DCed, would have made it even better.
I agree you have to listen to the brakes, gentle with the throttle, to get the best from it.
Had quite a big lead, after you spun, then MrTree, Sick caught me, when I braked too hard in the same place.

I think MrTree was in front of me, if he can confirm that would be good.:)

Round 6 RS 1600.jpg

Congratulations to Championship winner SimbaLora @AndreasR

Next Championship: Merc AMG 6.8 OR BMW 2002 Stance Works
Please choose a livery / number for each car and post your choices in the thread. You will be able to choose either car according to preference. You can swap from round to round if you wish, but please use your least favourite car at least twice. The AMG is more stable and easier to control on the brakes, but the BMW is easier to turn. Good luck to all drivers and happy racing:

Hi.

I ordered a Ricmotech Adapter and the TH8A shifter, surprisingly I had the package laying in front of my door when I came home from work which gave me just enough time to install the new stuff before the room opened. To my frustration I had to realize the brakes in the G27 pedals are very sensitive probably even more than usual when used on a Thrustmaster wheel. And the clutch is even worse, the Escort wanted to spin around in every downshift to 2nd Gear. The shifter worked nicely, but I should install the latest Firmware and calibrate (and adjust) the Pedals so I dont have to drift throughout the entire race again. See you all next time.

Nice video, man I wish we had those Opel Commodore in PCars, would make it easy for me to chose. But I guess I will mostly run the "Rote Sau" Merc!

Jack Tirbnos #78 on the Merc
VD Tuning #5 for the BMW

I took both for a spin on Nürb Combined the Merc 10:48,7 requires working on the wheels (ala ppl dont mess with the rotation, I leave it as it is, 1080° or something?) but is stable under braking and neutral in corners. (if you dont forget to turn your wheel more than usual)

The Stancework... is a pain in the...

10:55,4 very annoing catchy brakes and a rear that doesnt like corners,no matter what type of corner. It is also way too stiff for the Ring and if theres one thing the car hates more than curves its curbs... or its driver, because it wants to kill him!

If using the least favorite car for 2 rounds is a must, I'd only use it on the flatest and most technical track in the schedule.

I might just try and join in tomorrow, although I've know idea how anything works in Pcars online. I don't really know about the cars and tracks either. So my usual well prepared self then.

I might just watch - I don't even know if that's possible - just to see what's what.

Edit: I've done a few laps in the BMW SW. And... I quite like it!

Well that was a learning experience.

There's me sitting there watching the cars going around thinking "the qualifying will start soon" only to realise the cars that are going around are qualifying. :dopey:
Ok a last place start was a good challenge. (I haven't quite figured out the start yet)

It told me I had damage for the last couple of laps but not what the damage was. Brakes I think because it didn't want to stop afterwards. Does a pit visit repair the damage?
Is there any display that shows driver positions? I wasn't quite sure where you all were, just who was in front and behind.

Good fun though. I only spun once which is like a win to me. :)
Nice to race with you guys again.

Welcome If good to see you again:tup:
Unfortunately I hit MrTree on the first bend, gave position back, then he started too spin in to wall. Thought I'd damaged him, so pitted with him, we then had a good race after that.
I spun on the last lap and MrTree managed too get by.

Ah, it was you that aided me in my quest to get back to the leaders then. The cheque is in the post.

It's a good job there was no one around when my brakes had gone kaput otherwise I too might have caused a few incidents!
