26-30c for the last rain free 3 weeks or so. It's like breathing soup.:yuck:

We did see something weird the other day though. 30C and not a breath of wind mid afternoon. The next thing, a gale force wind kicks up, the closed curtains are flapping out of the open windows, fence panels rattling in their posts and garden furniture has been blown around the garden. 2 minutes later, it was all over... The last time I heard wind like that was in our '87 storm. I don't think it was a weak tornado as we had a few scattered clouds and blazing sunshine so maybe a huge down draft or something. My son lives a mile away and saw nothing. Weird day.

It's long overdue but for those of us who avoid all contact, it'll be a tough transition.

New penalty rules is coming tomorrow

・ Players with Driver Rating (DR) 'A' or higher will no longer be judged under stricter collision criteria, but will be judged under the same criteria as for players with DR ratings lower than 'A';
 ・ Light contacts between cars will no longer result in penalties;
 ・ The amount of seconds issued for a Time Penalty will be lowered.

I love strange or even dangerous weather - when everyone hides away you'll find me outside :).

Tweaking the penalty system was overdue, yes - not sure why it would be a tough transition though.
I'm all for no contact, you all know me ... I'm the one who'd never ever finish the lap of his life if there had been the slightest contact to a wall or anything ;) ... but I've learned that it can be part of racing. I'll never be going for it but I sure don't want to feel responsible for someone else making contact. I struggle when people talk about how to avoid penalties at all cost and the line gets extremely thin between racing and just gaming.

The 2 way penalties are dumb as they're never fair but I just get a feeling that they may be relaxing them too much and making some contact advantageous again. Like how the earlier penalties were pointless with push passes.

I think they'll be a raging success for the superstar races as they know what they're doing (less prone to bad moves) but for low DRA and down, I think the racing is going to get a lot more physical. We'll probably see a few more brake checks as well.

I desperately hope I'm wrong and they've found a good middle ground.

The problem was that when you get in a room with lower ranks and you had a bad race .... you know when for example at the start the one following you hit you and when you come back youfind yourself in middle pack and with slow pace and they brake late and you try to avoid but you end up touching someone and boom byebye rating
Here a example.....one race maggiolori

30C plus for 2 weeks here in Mallorca (34 today), but I could have saved a lot of money and stayed at home in England this year!

Looking forward to testing the new penalty system next week - the current one is a real disincentive to achieving an A DR....

32 degrees C here and I'm melting away. Despite the weather ...

Niklas and me have been there today. 20 min metro ride et voila : All the beauties and legends in one place. I'm by no means a Porsche fanboy but that was impressing stuff :).

Btw Niklas will be on a short trip to the Provence with his course next week - I asked him to have a good look at every lake, suspension bridge and lavender field that he comes across :D.

Only one Porsche for me - 917 :)

Only one Porsche for me - 917 :)

It's unique for sure :). 360 km/h was the highest top speed mentioned on the cars' descriptions for quite a couple of Le Mans racers and I already thought "Did they generalize here a bit ?" - then came the 917 with its 386 km/h ;).
There's a good reason though why you should consider dropping the 917 for a standard 911. In the exhibition I've found a citation of Walter Röhrl who was well known for his pithy sayings. He thinks "A garage without Porsche 911 is a bleak, empty hole !" :lol: ...

Speaking of hot, dry sunny weather. Had 10 weeks of it since the start of May & just this last week it's started to rain a wee bit. Still hot though. For any of you folks who have visited the land of the rising Haggis then you'll now this usually doesn't happen.

Sitting in my shorts with sweat beads dripping on to my specs trying to beat yer qualifying times is exhausting. :lol::lol::lol:
