I'm not exactly sure how "function following form" ends up, I've never heard it used that way, but I'd say its function > form. It's functional aerodynamically, and physically, as it gives more room for wider wheels and tires, along with giving more room for suspension travel. It doesn't look awesome to some (of course, looks are subjective) but considering this thread is one that usually frowns upon show cars, I didn't think it made sense to criticize it for not being up to par with show quality cars.
