Levin's here because it looks crap. Oh, and it's an example of function following form.
I'm not exactly sure how "function following form" ends up, I've never heard it used that way, but I'd say its function > form. It's functional aerodynamically, and physically, as it gives more room for wider wheels and tires, along with giving more room for suspension travel. It doesn't look awesome to some (of course, looks are subjective) but considering this thread is one that usually frowns upon show cars, I didn't think it made sense to criticize it for not being up to par with show quality cars.

Well, let's see...

It may possibly be aerodynamically functional... And it may give room for wider wheels and tires in theory... But yet it still forces massive tire stretch, to the point that it would be more aerodynamic and better handling with less flare and less wheel width...

There is nothing on that car that seems to not be compromised in some way for looks.

Tire stretch? Tire stretch!?

The tires fit rather well on the rims. Not to mention, the extra width keeps the rubber from overheating. I mean, you might as well call this questionable...

The point between an Super 2000 widebody (Touring car or Rally Car) and this widebody is the same: Fit wider tires without expensive suspension and chassis rework, as you would need on a Supertouring-type car. This way, you can use ridiculously sticky rubber without overheating the tires at high cornering speeds.

I mean, sure, the execution isn't the same as a multimillion dollar racing team, but you wouldn't expect it to, particularly if he drives the hell out of it whenever he takes it out on a track. It's a serious trackday/race car. Hell, might even be built for the AE86 N2 series. Point is, it's a functional, swift workhorse.

Ugly? maybe. But, in my eyes, so is the Ferrari F2008.

SteveO and GBWH1991 - more epic failures. Can't help but laugh at these - unbelievable !!!

Whenever I want to laugh , I will come to this thread , 450 pages of humor.
Just browsing , doing the hit and miss thing throughout this thread , I have to scratch my head and just wonder - Why would people do such things ?

The green Geo belongs to an "Ecomodder," who's trying to get a ton of mileage out of the damn thing. I've also seen the Del-X-Wing and that poor, poor Poser Mobile AE86 before, too.

However, that Diablo...unforgivable.

That white Metro intrigues me. While the CR-X look was taken a bit far, and rear wheel cannibalized from a Cutlass Supreme makes me think that something was done with the engine and its connection to said wheels.

The Coatl doesn't count, as that was (something to the effect of) an official production variation of the Diablo.

It's probably the prettiest bit of Geo Metro ever done. I'm not sure just how efficient the Kammback is, as it's quite flat, but that thing's a beauty (considering the base). Shame I'll never be able to sit upright in this one.

Doesn't look like an ecomodder - look at the wheels and the wide-open wheel-wells - but it should work out nicely as one with a few basic modifications.

It is an ecomodder.

Also it most likely got wheel skirts later on.

Because everyone needs an arrow ariel for their vehicle. I mean how redneck is that?

This is some sort of Oldsmobile, the most awesome thing on the car/truck/ute is that the rear suspension is clear beefed up to handle extra weight.

I actually love those big trucks/vans, and the ariel dosn't bother me much... Is it for a CV Radio at all?

I love CDVs (Car Derived Vans) and CDPs (Car Derived Puck-ups) but this one is really poor quality. I probably like the 'idea' or the Olds' converted to a pick-up as my Grandfather used to buy large cars (mainly American) and chop them into a pick-up - he worked in scrapyards for most of his working life, so they came in handy. The most notable would have to be the '55 Chevy Nomad he chopped to a pick-up in 1967-1968 I wish he had been able to get better photographs of some of his creations but due to the years he done this and lack of money for a decent camera it was not possible. He also dropped a Jaguar V6 into an old Ford pickup, spent about 1 and a half years getting it all running but never got to drive it as he was shot just after it was completed... (He survived being shot, with no other damage that being blind in his left eye - he was shot through the temple with an air rifle which got lodged in his eye. As far as we know, he is still the only person, in the UK, to have survived with no mental or psychological effects, and still has a full car and motorcycle license - he uses both still at 67)

I wonder what'll happen if you put a potato in every one of the Volvo's exhaust-tips. Massive volleys, Lord of the Ring style? :p

Love the watermark on this one "Car Styling Tips".
Tips, TIPS. If I had to pay for those "TIPS" I would murder when I try them.

i actualy have a vandura 2500 from '88 and its still rolling
and that one is in good condition and nothing questionable in my opinion
