Looking around the screen, waiting the pics to load, and there he was.

Ralph Lauren is a genius.

He has his name sewn on to generic clothing made in China and makes women feel bad about themselves; he make's a killing doing it, too!

Impressive car collection though. The garage is certainly better organized than Jay Leno's.

Nice pics... what does this have to do with gt5?

Isn't GT5 a "car collection" sim? I thought so. I look at nice cars and I covet them... real life or in game, it is the same. I assumed everyone here loved cars. I know I do.

Jay Leno's garage looks like a garage......like he drives his cars. RL's garage looks like a museum. Poor cars, they probably never go out to play :(

Anmd on top of that, you can instantly tell Leno's a real car nut because he has a lot of intresting, very eclectic cars in his collection. Lauren's is just another millionaire's collection. Great taste but all the stuff you expect to find, really.

Hey look, the Veyron that someone on this site saw him in one day while stalking him for pictures of expensive cars!

They're really not comparable. As said by Cano, Leno's looks like a real garage. Ralph's is more of a museum.

Clarification needed:

I dream of Jay Leno's garage. He has a great collection of cars spanning the entire history of the automobile, and he actually drives and appreciates the engineering behind them. You can tell a true car guy apart from someone who just wants the prestige of owning expensive cars.

I just like the layout of Ralph Lauren's garage, it looks cool. Clearly the cars are just show pieces though. They probably never see the light of day, and he probably rarely even walks in to his "museum" unless he just bought a new car; to look at.

Exactly. That's not a garage, that's a museum, or a morgue. Sitting on plinths, with the floor spotless underneath them. Where are the oil trays underneath the old cars?

I looked up Ralph's collection a bit on FChat, and according to them, a lot of these cars are driven quite often outside the yearly trips to Pebble Beach. Perhaps not the over-restored Ferraris, but the old Alfa & some others have been seen.

A vast majority of Ralph Lauren's car culture appreciation is in the design. He takes cues from automobile design and incorporates it into his fashion design. He still gets the thrill from taking one of his prancing horses out of the stable.

So with that said, I think its an unfair judgement to rule out RL as being a "car guy."

I think no one here has said Lauren isn't a car guy. I'ts just that his collection isn't as intresting as Leno's. Lauren's has a taste for over-restored top-dollar classics with high design cues and top rarity, and keeps them as clean as dinning tables. Leno's got a taste for the odd, the unique and the strong, and ALSO for the beautiful and rare.

In Lauren's garage you see a Bugatti Atlatic sitting alongside an alloy 300 SL, both awesome and inspiting and beautiful, but expected really in such a high profile collection. You walk around it like in a museum, white walls, perfect illumination, not a dirty spot.

In Leno's garage you see an unrestored Duesenberg the guy pulled out of a barn himself yesterday sitting alongside a perfect-condition Ford Shogun pocket rocket with an Indian motorcicle between them. You start walking and step on Leno's feet because you didin't notice he himself was working under his rear-engine Tatra fin car.

They are just different car guys. Leno's collection is WAY more interesting. And a lot bigger too.

Leno has a kitchen in his garage so he doesn't have to see the wife.

That's a hardcore car guy right there.

I dream of Leno's garage.

Lauren's collection? Meh. Give me same amount of money and I'll have my people collect/buy the rarest pieces that comes up every time at Christies/BJ/Sotheby's/etc.

Leno's garage? You can't buy that with money.
