One to ask Kaz about.... a 2010 car that GT can use...

Toyota mostly built an F1 car for 2010 with 2010 specs before pulling out. It is made completely as Stefan GP were going to buy it off toyota if they got the spot on the grid.

And with Kaz knowing Toyota and amongst other Japanese car manafactures... It's not out of hte picture to see a car that is 2010 F1 spec.

I was going to post this.

It is excellent news. And I think it is safe to count Red Bull among them after what we saw in the E3 trailer.
Hopefully they do what they did in GT3 as well, and include historical Formula 1 cars.

And hopefully further back in history as well, they've got all the major players.
Apart from Red Bull they've got Ferrari, McLaren, Lotus, Honda, Mercedes-Benz, Maserati, Renault, Alfa Romeo, etc. etc.
You get the drift..........:)

IMO those old grand prix cars deserve to be in that game at least as much as group c, NASCAR, WRC or DTM cars.
I hope that Kaz visits this years Italian GP at Monza, maybe the passion of those Tifosi can change his attidute to Grand Prix Racing :D (Just a question, could it be that Kaz somehow dislikes F1?)

Oh, its somehow sad that PD has such a close relationship with Red Bull and not with the Scuderia Ferrari :D
Just imagine Alonso lending his voice, for funny radio talks like this:

You drive the F1 2007, i'll takes Vettel's F1, well, once i've unlocked it. Fastest lap of top gear test track wins!

Hm, did Newey work on the 2007 Red Bull (he drove it for 3 or 4 races) or 2008 Torro Rosso? Because your article says a special car thats involved with them both. And some people here keep saying that PD won`t get any 2009/2010 cars (Which is a bit sad because this years Mercedes GP W001 and Ferrari F10 look so awesome) and that would only let those two cars as possibilities.

It's a question of licencing. GT5 will be the first time we have "official" Formula 1 cars (GT3's weren't "official" despite being based on historical models)

Ferrari are very elitist, and based on Luca di Montezemolo's latest round of comments, they don't like outsiders too much.

Technically both. He designed the Red Bull RB3 as his first car with the team. Toro Rosso bought the chassis from Red Bull and redubbed it the STR2.

That's because Codemasters hold the licence to the 2009 and 2010 grids. Knowing Bernie Ecclestone, he'd likely have an exclusivity arrangement with Codies, making it incredibly difficult for Polyphony to acquire too many cars.

Kudos to irnbrutwinturbo for spotting this:

Red Bull Racing will be playing an important part in the next edition of Sony's PlayStation series Grand Turismo which is released this November.

For months the F1 team has been working with Polyphony, the company behind the game after Red Bull was asked to become part of the latest chapter: GT5 – The Real Driving Simulator.

In this version, gamers will get the chance drive the Nordschleife, try out the Top Gear test track and unlock a special car which... well, let's just say Adrian Newey is involved as is Sebastian Vettel and they both met the game's designer Kazunori Yamauchi in Milton Keynes earlier this year. The Factory and the Red Bull-owned Hangar-7 restaurant in Salzburg have also been recreated and feature within the game.

GT5 is the fifth episode of the driving game and exclusively produced for Sony's Playstation III. It's one of the top-sellers worldwide and GT5 will also be playable in 3D

Check out the impressive trailer presented to the Sony Conference in Los Angeles on Monday.

As soon as we know more, we'll let you know.

If we're allowed to.

Surely there is no doubt now. They're both in the F1 team. It has to be an F1 car.

A Newey designed prototype would not be so closely linked to Vettel.

Excellent News!! My only question is, doesn't Codemasters have the license for F1 cars in 2009 and 2010, both years Vettel has been with RBR?

They may be using a loop hole to get around things...

"Red Bull Technology" is a seperate entity to "Red Bull Racing" which allows them to do things outside of the rules for the F1.

I was fortunate enough to Visit RB recently this year, and seeing the AutoClaves first hand there is definatley somethig in there!!!

I am obviously guessing, but it could be something like a Carbon Fibre Special edition item. CF Steering wheel anyone?

The suggestion is that you won't be driving the RB6, but a special car designed by Newey. Kind of like the Nike ONE 2022, but less random.

Sorry if this was already brought up and therefore does not deserve a thread.

Anyway, whilst browsing the official Red Bull Racing.com, I noticed two articles about GT5.

They stated in the first article-

I have a feeling that the "special car" is Sebastian's Red Bull F1 car. (year
unknown)

A second article stated-
The ultimate racing game is revving up and getting ready to hit the streets. We take to the driving seat to get a closer look at Gran Turismo 5, which is guaranteed to take the PlayStation 3 by storm later this year. To make sure GT5 felt as realistic as possible, developer Polyphany Digital sent game designer Kazunori Yamauchi to Red Bull Technology in Milton Keynes, UK, to work with Formula One’s leading designer Adrian Newey and racing driver Sebastian Vettel. So whether you want to go off-roading in Sébastien Loeb’s Citroen C4 WRC, take on the Green Hell of the old Nürburgring or suit up as The Stig and take a huge selection of supercars for a spin, there’s plenty of gear to keep the hardened fan and the newcomer entertained.

We also never knew we could play as the Stig, however, it was kind of expected.

This is all pretty old stuff. If you searched for "NEWEY", you'd have found it mentioned before.

I was wondering about that Stig part. I saw the Stig in a trailer somewhere, and wondered about it.

That's kinda cool, but useless unless their is some way to choose lots of different camera angles during replays, and you would have to be in a premium car.

Is there just about no way we could see the 2010 Red Bull in GT5? I know about the Codemasters license and everything and obviously PD couldn't make a full F1 game or anything like that, but is it possible the that 2010 car could appear in the game, licensed through Red Bull? I remember the McLaren-Mercedes car was in some Mercedes Racing game for Xbox several years back and I doubt they had the F1 license. If it's possible then I think the 2010 model really could be the F1 car we get here, especially with PD working so closely with Red Bull. If not, maybe the 2008 version.

Wasn't the stig revealed to be Michael Schumacher?

It was just a marketing ploy.

No matter who he is though I don't see the big deal with him being a playable character. It's not like it will make you faster, or add anything to the game for that matter.
