Red Bull Racing and F1 in GT5?

There's no doubt in my mind one of the RB-F1 cars will be in GT5. Why haven't we talked logically and thought about this? The teams are automakers and privately owned, all Kaz would have to do is go to them to get permission to model their cars. Not F1. F1 isn't in charge of what the teams do with concern of their cars. All they have to do is not use F1 branding if they don't have the license. Why do you think Prologue got away with the F2007? That's a Ferrari car, FOR F1. Red Bull, Renault, Mercedes, are all featured in GT. To use their F1 car wouldn't be out of the question. Especially if Ferrari can put their car out for use in the game.

They had the F2007 because Sony still held the F1 license at that time. Acquiring an F1 car is nowhere near as simple as getting a normal production car, there is a good amount of red tape that has to be crossed.

The FIA only has the rights to the cars from the current and previous season. Anything before that is fair game to whoever wants to get permission from the teams.

I'm not wrong, while the FIA make the rules, they aren't in charge of PR. which were talking about. FOM is in charge of everything of the likes, but even then they aren't in charge of every team and their cars. Any race we see there are no F1 branding on any car in the field. Force India was I think forced to change their symbol or their branding because it was too close to the F1. Ferrari don't use F1 in their team name. McLaren don't, no one does. Scuderia Marlboro Ferrari, Vodaphone McLaren Mercedes, Panasonic Toyota, etc. no F1 naming in their team's name. My point is that Kaz and PD don't need to go to the FIA in order to get permission to use the F1 teams cars. If anything it's up to the teams or Bernie Ecclestone's FOM.

If the Red Bull wants to add their F1 car to the GT5 lineup, its unlikely that the FOM will stop them.

Its a great oppurtunity to advertise the F1.

As a Ferrari Fan, I think we will have a good chance of getting this seasons Ferrari F10 for GT5.
I doubt that Santander will like the idea of having a Ferrai F1 car in GT5 that has zero Santander brandings. No, they paid alot of money to become one mainsponsor of Ferrari (and to get Alonso into the red car ), im sure that they want to advertise their company in GT5.

Almost a month back, Red Bull gave a cryptic clue regarding their involvement with Gran Turismo 5, I'm sure it would've been mentioned by someone on GTPlanet at some point.

In this version, gamers will get the chance drive the Nordschleife, try out the Top Gear test track and unlock a special car which... well, let's just say Adrian Newey is involved as is Sebastian Vettel and they both met the game's designer Kazunori Yamauchi in Milton Keynes earlier this year. The Factory and the Red Bull-owned Hangar-7 restaurant in Salzburg have also been recreated and feature within the game.

The proper term is "Contructors". Also, who exactly said they have to go through F1? Some people have mention the FIA and some have Mentioned Bernie, but I haven't heard anyone rediculously mistake "F1" as the one holding the license. Besides, "F1" is a registered trademark owned by Formula One Licensing BV.

The F2007 came at a time where Sony did have the Formula 1 license. Even though its listed under "Ferrari" in GT5P, it was actually a product of Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro. The way you mentioned Kaz could get the cars does not work like that. For instance, he can't go to Renault for the R30 because it is owned by Renault F1, a seperate entity(which by the way has the F1 name in it). Hell, I'm betting he didn't simply go to Dietrich Mateschitz for the Red Bull car. Assuming its in, I'm betting he had to license it from Red Bull Technologies as well as from Red Bull Racing, which as far as I know are two seperate arms from Team Red Bull, their NASCAR arm.

There is a Red Bull F1 in GT5. But your going to have to jump thru rings of fire to get to it. Similar to the Ferrrari in GT5 prologue!! And yes, iRacing has the 79' Lotus (it's super hard to control) and the 2009 Williams (Without Kers) is coming Q4. iRacing also has Spa coming in 2011!
As for Red Bull, some of my Buds went Sponsor hunting this Summer. They race online sim cars. Not GT5, but another earlier mentioned title. Red Bull told them "We only sponsor 'real athletes'!" Hahaha... BUT.. another BIG BIG BIG Energy drink company took them under their wings! Sim racing is growing, we've seen the Gran Turismo signs all over Le Mans! And see iRacing every SCCA race on Speed TV. Even seen it on the IRL races. From a pretty reliable source -believe it or not,really don't care- The Ferrari of course is in GT5 and so is the Team Red Bull and possibly one other Team F1 car! Like BMW and or Toro Rosso. Oops... did I say that?

So just because there is a Ferrari engine in the Sauber and the Toro Rosso cars, it automatically hints they are in the game? Sorry to sound doom & gloom, but that sounds overly optimistic. Just because they have Ferrari power does not automatically mean they are in. By that same token then, Porsche should already be in GT5 since there have been many GT sponsored ones. Again sorry if I sound negative as I'm excited at the prospect of having more F1 cars but at the same time, lets be realistic here and not jump to unfounded conclusions.

I dont see how those teams using ferarri engines is any hint towards those cars being in the game. By that example you could also assume that there is going to be a renault F1 car in the game, as red bull uses renault engines. To further it again, mclaren and mercedes have cars in the game so hey why not assume they have F1 cars, and Force India use mercedes engines so lets just assume they will be there too. all of a sudden we have imagined up most of the 2010 grid ^^.

Dont get me wrong, i would love if it were possible, but there has been nothing that ive seen to suggest that were going to see a bunch of F1 cars in the game.

I think any real F1 cars being included in the game other than a Ferrari is highly optimistic. But it makes sense that the Ferrari needs something to compete against right? If we get any kind of formula one cars I will be over the moon. The old stuff would be even cooler though.

Here is a response I got from Red Bull Marketing department asking for sponsorship to our SFGTPlanet LAN event. Very interesting to know and now I'm thinking they will be hosting their own GT5 events since they have been involved with GT for a while now and can probably see the benifits of GT Academy to having their own type of Red Bull Academy. Getting the current ones, yes. The ones from 2008 and back, not so much really but its likely complicated. I'm kinda interested in seeing who they have to seek out for the older Hondas as if I recall, alot of the cars have been auctioned off, though I'm not sure if that includes the RA-108. The Toyota F1 cars might be easier to attain though since there is no longer a team and (to my recollection at least) none of their older cars have been sold off.

I think we will only get the Ferrari F2007 and Torro Rosso STR3 (Vettels car from the 2008 season).
Or the RBR5 from 2009.
I think that the chances of getting another Ferrari (except some classics) are pretty low, maybe with some luck the F10. Yes, its from this season, but I doubt that this is such a bug hindrance. But there are some arguments speaking for this, like Ferraris Santander sponsoring or sales in spain (Alonsos first Ferrari F1 car).

Lets see whats going to happen, atleast those cars going to be premium

Edit: I forgot Mercedes GP. Mercedes looooves to advertise their company with the silver arrow legacy. Maybe we will see an old silver arrow or Michael Schumachers W001.

I would have thought that Honda would still keep the rights to using their old F1 cars in a video game. But Honda are in the game so there is no reason that their cars couldn't be included?

Licensing isn't the problem, but I was reffering to where to find the cars themselves, which is where I mentioned them being auctioned off.

Having a Manufacterer thats already in F1 in the game doesn't necessarily guarantee they'll be there otherwise we should have already had F1 cars from Renault, BMW, and Toyota.

At Goodwood a couple of weeks ago RedBull were running an old RB1 chassis with an aero package to make it look like a 2009-2010 car. I wouldnt be surprised to see it in the game as it wouldnt be tied up in any liscencing issues.

I think the Toyota team still exists, or at least the facilities and some staff are still around at Cologne.
Its a shame its dying off though, they should get back into Touring Cars or Rally again.

Yeah, I noticed that as well. (BTW, it was actually a carbon fiber oven, not a wind tunnel, and the "cockpit outline" is/are known as side blades/fins).

I can't quote from my phone, but the picture above isn't an RB1...and it looks nothing like an RB6 at all. It clearly looks like an RB5 with the exception of a few decals that I don't recall being there (Where it says Total on the front wing, I believe it just said Red Bull...).

In fairness though, I didn't read the article you got that picture from and maybe that is what it said, but I think its wrong... Also Adrian Newey was given an RB5 from Red Bull as a thanks and I believe he drove it at the Feat so I might go as far to say that the picture above is actually Newey in his own personal RB5 which is kind of cool!
