As well as a lot of places I've come a crossed recently of some pretty heinous acts to old bodies throughout the place.

Never fully realised how gruesome this game is. Came across one of the serial killer clue locations last night. Blood and body parts everywhere.

Might cheat a bit and use the internet to see if I can find the other clues to the killer.

Saw a naked cave man who lived with wolves ^^

I'm constantly amazed at the detail in this game. It's an excellent RPG, play honorable or not the choice is yours. You end up caring for your gang members (well most, Micah's an idiot!), you become attached to your horse. Found and tamed the white Arabian today, I felt bad to stable my trusted friend. So much to do in this large and stunningly beautiful world (almost too much!). Actually, the beginning of the game had me worried as it seemed very slow and methodical with tricky controls but it sure sucks you in the more you play.

It had to be a little worrisome for Rockstar to make such a large investment over the past 8 or so years of development. Rockstar may make a ton of money from this game but in my opinion they deserve it as they didn't cut many corners.

Also, RDR2 has to be a boon for the YouTuber community, almost unlimited source material.

Have fun partner!

I go to the stables in Blackwater to buy an Arabian to see what's so great about them. And as soon as I buy it and leave the stable, guess what I see...an Arabian that's nearly identical to the one that I just paid $1200 for (as well as a half-drunken Uncle)...into the stable you go buddy.

Can Gavin's Friend find Gavin already?

a google search showed that nobody has found gavin yet. So I guess Gavin is not real.

Came across that guy in Rhodes and Saint Denis.

Was wondering if you stumble across Gavin at some point. Guess not.

It sounds like Gavin might have an imaginary friend :dopey:

It's a tactic I use sometimes when I am forced to catch public transport & someone tries to sit next to me :sly:
It doesn't always work but most of the time people are probably thinking, move away & choose another seat far from the crazy guy.

Little tip regarding the upgraded satchels:
The final satchel can carry 99 of all items. This does not affect ammo or throwable weapons.
You can find Iguanas on the island just west of the camp in chapter 3.

Unconfirmed but I read that once you beat the story, you can just buy the satchels

Hmmm where? Are you sure it was an Arabian? Because there are other breeds of horses with similar coats.

It's true. Once you beat the story you can buy all the upgrades at the fencer IIRC.

And you can equip any of them because the bonus applies regardless. So you can have different outfits with different looking satchels.

I'm concerned that despite doing a lot of exploration, I've completed very few of the additional activities, and I'm already up to 30% completion. I've lost track of all the things I've not done, so I've ordered the game guide. I know it can be a bit "cheaty", but I really want to get the most out of this game and I feel like I'm missing a lot.

Question....Xbox one x. Game has 2 discs? If so how are they used? Is one for just installing only and the other you play only, or do you actually have to swap discs during the game ? Thanks

Same for PS4. you have to swap them during the instalation process. A message will appear on your screen when it reaches 50%.

But you don't need to swap them when playing the game.

I appreciate this top tip.

I'm playing with John Marston.
Ahhh man. I didn't notice but I guess I haven't been paying that close to the game because I don't even remember whens the last time I interacted with him lol.

It was literally hitched up in the front of a building across from the stables in Blackwater.

It was definitely an Arabian. Without a doubt, because I couldn't believe that I found an Arabian that easily, on top of the irony that I paid $1200 for a nearly identical horse to the one just standing there hitched. And, I stabled it and it said Arabian.

I found a stupid thing in the game.

If legendary animals only spawn once, save your game as soon as you hunt one and stow its pelt on your horse.

I caught a legendary moose yesterday but needed a perfect world pelt to purchase a jacket at the trapper. So I spent a few hours in the mountains, killed a bunch of wolfs but only after 10 or so I got a perfect pelt. As I was riding back to the trapper, a Cougar attacked me and I didn't have time to react. I had the bow equipped, shot an arrow to its head but didn't kill it. He came back and I died.

Then I spawn at a random place without any of the pelts I had gotten (maybe 10 perfect pelts from all kinds of animals), including the only Legendary Moose pelt.

I went back to the place where the Cougar killed me but there was nothing there.

It wouldn't be such a pain in the butt if Legendary animals spawned more often. But if you lose the only one you got because you died on your way to the trapper or fencer, good luck.

I had to load the last save file...from yesterday.

Well, at least I now know I have to save the game right after catching a legendary animal. Oh, and equip the best weapon possible.

I know this is old, but I read that if you die before being able to drop a legendary pelt off at the trapper it will automatically go to the trapper when you die.

I'm playing with John Marston.

I thought the voice sounded familiar but put it down to not being that far in and not overly familiar with the starting character's voice (or name!)

To note, I haven't actually bought the game yet. However, I have been watching constant videos online (I don't care about spoilers, I usually watch someone's walk through of the game prior to me buying it anyway).

Thoughts on the story:
Well, I love every scene so far. It is quite neat to actually see what happened to Dutch leading to his insanity in RDR1. I liked his original, robin hood like mindset at the beginning. It's a shame that it got tampered by scumbag Micah, that little rat!

For Arthur Morgan, I originally thought I was not going to like this guy. That has changed, I like his chemistry with other gang members including Dutch himself, Lenny (WHERE ARE YOU LENNNEH?!), and John Marston. It was nice seeing him become sort of a big brother figure to John at the end of the story when he helped John escape. I felt quite sad that he had to die from that disease. His character development indeed felt like what Mary said about there being good in him, but fighting a giant. It seems that the giant got beaten in the end, though that's what I think.

Okay, that's all I can think of for now, I just wanted to share some thoughts.

Hi fellow players...

I play game with PS4 and pretty much default settings. One thing what greatly annoys me is wolf pack when riding with horse. Middle of doing something else than wanting to shoot those howling bastards I rather want to spur my horse and giddy up away. But no. Forced camera turns towards wolves and my horse keeps running blindly forward. Very often onto tree and we both will crash and drop. Then there's dead eye match against wolves or I just happen to die since I have no proper long arm up from saddle. This doesn't happen with cougars or bears.

Is there any way to switch this forced camera off? I know there's nasty little doggies chasing us but I would like to concentrate escaping them, not staring them!

I've tried that (fleeing)... Its doesn't work very well, especially with cougars.

The best you can do is practice your dead eye reactions and shooting. I kill them right away when they appear (wolves or cougars). No problem. They die with a headshot.

Make sure your dead eye core and bar are full when you're out in the wild.

Finished the Explorer and Master Hunter challenge and I'm 1 horse away of completing the horseman challenge too. I can't find a Hungarian halfbred to break. :/ The 3 places I've looked only had Morgans and Tennessee Walkers. I'll try again tomorrow.

Got my mustang finally! :) Saw all 3 versions while looking for the Hungarian and all 3 look stunning. I ended up getting the best of the three, after riding with the grey one for a bit til I found the "tiger striped bay" one. I think there's only one of each in the game (not sure, but I never saw more than 1 of each color).

I never noticed the camera lock when being attacked by cougars, and had no idea it was a thing for wolves, which goes to show how much space I give them. I noticed they are one of the only predators without the benefit of more realistic behavior, unlike the coyotes or bears that mind their own business or run away.

I'm not a fan of forced/scripted encounters with predatory animals in otherwise "open-ended" games like this. Selectively restricting normal gameplay actions to thrust the player into a kill-or-die situation with a feared predator just strikes me as lazy demonization.

What kind of seals that impression is all the barking the wolves do, which is a lazy goof-up considering this game's attention to detail. Yes, it can be taken for granted that I would care. :p

I happen to have answer on that! I saw quite nice looking horse and it was indeed Hungarian halfbred and I did tame this 12 dollars worth horse.
Location is slightly west from Flatneck Station.
