Gentlemen. A great way to make quick money is to cheat at poker. Assuming you've purchased the elegant suit. Easy as pie to make loads of money. just don't get caught oh and if you do, there's a bonus of practicing up on ypur dueling skills.

I for one am pretty ready for online mode. I think i'll give it a whirl tonight to get some rank Feel free to add to hunt some animals. Human or otherwise

If you shoot the hand, you earn +100 honor, too. So I've read, but don't hold me to it. Don't have the game, yet.

I used to shoot the gun out of their hand but in later duels your meter doesn't go up high enough to beat them if you do that, so you need a few headshots. I hate it because I just want to fire one shot and not fill their face with 6 or more just to win a duel.

Unless of course I'm doing it wrong.

Actually, the only shot that matter is the first one, after DRAW come on screen, the red reticule will start expand and collapse, you have to press shoot when it's as small as possible (if you have a smaller reticule, your first bar will be higher -> you fire the first shot and vice versa) .

Having had a umber of duels (and one or two failures) I just go for an arm shot as it quicker than homing in on the gun and seems to have the desired effect.

I usually just shoot fleeing criminals as the last time I brought one back alive the deputy shot him anyway!

I usually manage to get too close to stage holdups (though the last one I had, the stage was on the move) and end up dying.

My favourite (stupid!) trick is to catch a runaway horse and forget to revert to the gun. I find it very difficult to lasoo a Cougar to death!!! So far Cougars are the worst "critters" to deal with as they can be very sneaky. I managed to get bitten by a snake. I wonder why there was no associated mission to get back to town before you died. That would have made things more interesting. As it is you just shoot the thing and get its skin.

Not sure if anyone as noticed but when it is raining if you right up to the sky you get the water droplets on screen, as if you were watching out of a camera lense.

I went into a local game shop to pick up my copy on release day (no pre-order) and they were putting the War Horse cards in every box! So I got one, along with a free 800 Microsoft points card. 👍 I still want a white horse though...

You can get a white horse, the Hungarian Half Bred I believe found in Mexico, though I can give a more specific location if you can't find one, you can break one in (which is part of a trophy) and that allows you to be able to buy them as well. I've been rocking my all black horse for a while now, just got one for online (level 40) as well which is nice so I can have the horse I want online and off.

I'm not going to make a video to show you guys this because I can type it and you will understand it just fine. Tutorial on how to loot and skin extremely fast (skip the long cut scene!) After you have killed the animal or person take your horse and stop it over the body. Then just get off the horse and press whatever button it is for you to skin, its Y for me on 360. After that he will mount the horse again instead of going into the cut scene and it will collect the skin and whatever else you get from the animal or the cash from the dead body. This saves a ton of time if you hunt allot! If you can get the horse over the body and to where when you dismount the horse and you land on top of the body it works every time.

Yes I do the same thing kinda as well. Basically if you got a horse(for example) close enough to the carcus to where the command on screen changed from "mount" to "loot"(ex) with only slight movement of Marston. And just hit Triangle or Y while "loot" (ie"skin") is on the screen while also moving Marston back over towards "mount" and 9/10 for me Ill of successfully looted or skinned without the animation 👍

I would just like to say that i despise any animal resembling in any shape or form of a cougar. I've been mauled like hell these past few hours trying to kill that damn "Kahn" the jaguar in MP. Ughhhhh...

That being said MP is fun....for a while....The one thing that i really don;t like in some games which have a mulitplayer element, is the 10 shots to kill ultimatum.. In this aspect i liked GTA more, with the automatic weapons but with the RDR competetive mode it turns me off..

A bit off topic but i miss BC2..

I love that hunt for Khan, it's pretty damn fun with a buddy. When I did it me and my partner (using expert of course) hid inside the small building for the majority of the time and it's pretty darn scarey being in such a small space when you can hear those cougars outside. The cougars can't enter, but that doesn't mean they can't kill you as I found out when I got nailed through a window. I closed the door when we first went inside as a precaution, when I opened it a cougar was stood right infront of it and I blindfired like crazy with my shotty out of sheer panick. If you still haven't managed it and you see me online, drop me a message 👍.

Its funny to do if you watch the animal after you get on the horse because all of the sudden the skin is gone and its just a skinless animal laying there.

I have the PS3 version and after doing that, the skin is still on, I got the pelt and the dot on the radar disappear, that's it.
Also, I encountered my first glitch today. I was in Armadillo, walking in the desert trying to knife wolf. Suddenly, a pack of at least 5 charge at me and as soon as I swing at them, the sky went dark and all the wolf disappear (I think the sun blew up and created a worm hole, teleport all the wolf away )

Thats weird, on the 360 you do the quick skin and then sit there and watch it and all of the sudden the skin just pops off and its just muscle laying there....haha

I can confirm with the PS3 version if it doesn't go through the whole skinning action scene but you still recieve the skin/meat the skin is visually still on the animal.

As can I, I did it with a buck earlier. Parked my donkey on top of it, skinned the buck, skin didn't disappear.

Uh....yeah....I posted it here I think two days ago to share with everyone that didn't know about it, also posted a tutorial video on another glitch I had found a few pages back. I found another giltch also, I am now lvl 50, 5th prestige with everything unlocked

I've come up with a new game to play in Red Dead: cliff "surfing".

Basically find a cliff/rock face and try and slide all the way down it without killing yourself. You score more points for surfing a bigger cliff.

Should be alright, I imagine you know by now though. There's definately alot to like about this game, whether it will really last (and you'll know what I mean by that, not just a week or 2) only time will tell, but I still haven't put another game in my PS3 since last friday.

I"ve been living in the wild west for some time now...Not only have i gotten most of the trophies for my main account..i also did it for my secondary.....Now MP is requiring 90% of my playtime....i had no idea i would enjoy this game so much...it's like Fallout 3...but without giant roaches and super mutants....
