Funny, I bought this particular monitor (BenQ E2220HD) because it had 1080p and HDMI input... yet I get better visuals for most of my PS3 games on my SD television, because they downscale to the TV's native resolution of 576i GT5P looks amazing on it though (being natively 1080p), so I will be enjoying GT5 in high-definition

Same monitor as me but I don't see much difference. My HD TV looks fine too but maybe because it has a 'game' mode (or because it's a Sony).

Really? You don't notice that in 720p mode the textures are a bit blurry and in general stuff looks rather average? I'm curious to know what PS3/monitor settings you're using - I have it connected via HDMI, if that makes a difference

A yes, very much. I have had more fun playing this game than any game I have played in years, and the story and voice acting is great also.

Well if you start over then you will be starting on a new save file which has nothing to do with what you have already done so that would be no. You can keep playing after you finish the main story line so you can finish all of the challenges etc there are to do. I just got done doing all the treasure hunting last night, those were way too easy IMO though. I am almost done with the hunting and all, I still have many hours left though because some of the animals are hard to find. I spent 3 days playing it every night just trying to find some damn beavers! Finally found some and they were just popping up everywhere Now I am having to do something like 5 skunks, 5 foxes, and 5 of something else.

Alpha Protocol sucks! So many bugs, and HORRIBLE game mechanics. Graphics are hideous, too. I finished the tutorial and was supposed to get a trophy. Nope. Trust me, rent it first. You might hate it like I did.

I'm taking a chance on RDR; I just bought it. I got sick and tired of waiting for GameFly to ship it to me. Cancelled their service. I got sick and tired of not getting my games in a timely manner that I ordered, too.

It usually takes 4 days from the day they ship it for me to get my game. Its not super fast but just renting two games from blockbuster is the same cost as 1 month with 2 games out so its a decent bargain for me, and I can keep this as long as I want.

I'm really enjoying the game and I ordered it from Amazon last week. But for some reason they doubled up the order and sent me 2 copies of the game! If I can verify that they didn't charge me twice, I have a spare copy I can sell off!

I now have the treasure hunting challenge complete, and last level on the other three:tup: I still don't care for the multiplayer that much. I really hate it when they make some of the achievements for online only, not everyone has xbl or the internet for that matter. Or they could just be like me and not like the multiplayer on the game. Speaking of multiplayer, if anyone on xbox or if anyone that knows someone on xbox that would like to have their online character level 50 5th prestige with golden guns and everything else unlocked I can mod it for you/them. Before someone even starts flaming about me modding mine to level 50 5th prestige hear me out, I don't even play it online really and I was just poking around seeing if they had the MP_Data files secured or not, they didn't so I modded mine

Its much better than GTA IMO, I got really bored of GTA:IV and sold it not too long after I got it, but RDR is different. I don't know if its because I like westerns and all or if it just has better things to do but I do like it much better. I just wish there were faster horses, I have the fastest one and the beast is still slow feeling....

I like it better than GTA since there is more fun stuff to do that won't result in a wanted level.(I have about $3,500, most of it from hunting and I have a bunch more in my satchel)

I also saw the weirdest thing yet, I saw a lady on her knees crying next to a body, as I approached I saw her pull out a gun and off herself.

It's less repititive, although horse running can be, there's often enough variation in scenery, etc, for it to not be an issue.

Wouldn't bother, it's just a handful of the very early cutscenes put together with lots and lots of bits missing, with no flow to the story. Waste of 30 mins of your life if you have the game.

I'm not sure if this is the result of a glitch, or just an extremely rare occurrence. I was hunting in Mexico when all of a sudden pack after pack of wolves were attacking me. I wound up with 52 pelt's in my satchel, I probably would have had about 60 but I got tired of being attacked so I got out of there. I sold them along with everything else I had collected from hunting and went from $3,500 to $7,000.


I should have more than enough for the rest of the game.

I believe you were in and around Barraca or something like that, the spawn point for the rare wolf, online at least you have to fight a few waves to make it show up. Bearclaw Camp is the same with Bears, Tanners Reach is Cougars and there's another with Boars. Tanners Reach is by far the most dangerous of the bunch, though none of them are a problem if you're using any sort of auto-aim. If you're ever in free mode with a buddy and you're using expert, head into Tanners Reach some time and enjoy .

It's a shame you can't limit people in free roam to using Expert, if you even attempt to go around with Expert and someone picks a fight with you, you'll be dead before you even hit them.

Fortunately, in competitive games like shootout, you can limit what people are allowed to use. There's different levels you unlock from any aiming mode, normal and expert only, expert only and then a hardcore mode with expert only and limited HUD I believe. To do hideouts and things I suggest going private so you can stick to expert safely.

I have been finished with the game for about a week now and right now I am just going back and doing every other thing like challenges and all I haven't finished yet. Since I finished the story line of course John died (who didn't see that coming!?) and now I am having to play as his son. Am I alone on getting so tired of hearing his sons voice that I have turned the volume down? His voice just annoys the hell out of me, especially when riding the horse and he yells work ya damn nag. But the ending did set it up to make sure there would be another entry comming in the series....

Mine's all HDMI as well, and while there is a difference, it's so small that I rarely notice it unless I look for it. I've never changed any settings that I can remember, so it should all be in 'auto'.

I haven't experienced any connection issues, granted I don't go online alot but when I do I'm on for an hour at least.(I get 5MBdown/1MBup)

Go here, see what speed you are really getting, it could be that your connection is to slow to handle the load.
