Just spotted a thread about possibly doing a mod for Daytona Prototypes on F1 classic and posted in it. Assuming anyone decides to start, I might (well I would like to anyway) be apart of a potential team to work on the Daytona Prototype mod :D

Also thought I'd pay a compliment to the guys that did the BES 2012 mod and found the guy who did the 2012 VLN skins. If Possible, I'd like to have a try at doing the 2013 ones.

Tried to get another "unofficial" rFactor release track to work in the game and can't figure out why it won't work. Downloaded all the files from their site for the track and I'm getting an error with one of the .MAS files.

I've also tried BamaSpeedway as I've previously mentioned in this thread. At least I can make it to the backstretch before that one crashes the game. :ouch:

For anyone that has the BES mod and would like to use the same number decal as they do in the real series, I just made and uploaded a complete one to use. Comes with the 2012 version:

As well as the 2013 version, with all the different class colors:

Anyone interested can download it here.

Ok, Now I'm actually considering trying to put together a 2013 Le Mans 24 Hour Skin pack (Using the ELMS mod, alittle bit of the ALMS 2013 add-on for the Enduracers mod and if possible, cars from a WEC mod) and then follow that up with a 2013 Nurburgring 24 Hour Skin pack. In the process of getting permission to do it (along with doing skins for the GTC class of the ELMS mod).

Which do you guys like best... I'm thinking the silver on black.

I like Silver on black too.

How did you get silver to work in rFactor?

Ah ok, will try that out later 👍

Meanwhile, decided it was the right time to bring this up:

So here's an interesting thing that happened:

I did some laps in the Lotus Evora GTE from the WEM mod (video of that coming soon) and when I went to watch the replay, the car had these lines all over the darn thing. So I exit out the game, open the DDS of that specific car (in this case, the #24 jetalliance car from the ILMC) and saved it with Mip maps turned on. Went back to watch the replay and voila, the Paint scheme shows up just fine. Not sure if all the cars will do that but if they do for any of you guys, open the DDS of that car in your paint program (assuming it accepts DDS files), save it with mip maps on and see if that works for you.

I bring this up because it happened again with the ELMS mod with the Signatech Alpine Car. I did the same thing I did before and again, it worked :)

Edit: Lap times from trying out the ELMS Mod

Oreca-03 (Alpine Signatech) - 1'42.321
Zytek Z11SN (Greaves Motorsport) - 1'42.782
Lola B12-80(HVM Status GP) - 1'42.975
Lola B11-40(DKR-Engineering) - 1'45.104

I haven't played rFactor in a while, but I am certainly intrigued by that Prototype C mod. Those are my favorite ever sportscar racing machines. I think I saw that mod on rFactor Central and may check that mod out. Going to have to enjoy all the rFactor 1 goodness since my PC can't handle the rFactor 2 material.

Check out the HSO Group C mod!

It only has the Porsche 962, Lancia LC12 (?), Sauber C9, and 1 or 2 others but it has the best physics I think.
Drove the Porsche for 1000 km at Fuji once. Was a lot of fun.

TH8 thrustmasters First test in this first test I test with EnduRacers F430 in Nordschleife is a very funny combination :)

A greeting

I was going to post something in another thread, but accidentally posted it here! Nothing new to chat about here from me. I may want to check out those Group C mods being mentioned of late.

I'm still trying to figure out which one I like more..
Experience may vary. You'll like better the one you'll understand earlier, I was an avid GTR2 user but a couple of years ago I finally realized how to customize FFB in rFactor and how to import cars from mod to mod. Now I like rFactor more even becaue it's slightly better on the CPU which means I can add more cars on track. Still think default GTR2 AI is much better though.
To have good AI in rF you really need to tweak stuff, can be time consuming.

Going to give the ALMS 2013 mod a try, are only LMP1 and LMP2 complete at the moment? Now if only they come out with a Grand-Am 2013 mod..

Any of you guys ever play GTR2?

I have, was what I played for a while before I got rFactor. Its become more enjoyable now that I've got a wheel and it recognizes the rumble in it.

After deleting the ILMS 2.78 mod about a week ago, I re-downloaded it today to give it a second chance. While the cars are terrible on the stock setup, a little tuning and they are much better. Default setup is a bit low on downforce and the differential setting causes the car to slide too much getting through the corners.

I still prefer the Enduracers mod over it, but the ILMS mod has a couple cars the Enduracers one doesn't.
