This 2 are my recomended mods, offcourse I'm a sports cars fanatic so obviously my interests when it comes to mods is biased:

FIA GT3 2010 V1.3 by Sandrox&Gpfan
http://f1classic.your-talk.com/t8919-released-fia-gt3-2010-v13-by-sandroxgpfan

Enduracers SP2(the most complete Sports Car mod ever made)
http://enduracers.com/downloads_es.html

Other than those there are some pretty damn good V8Supercars, DTM, CART, GP2 and F1 mods out there!

I've installed the reelfeel mod and indeed, feels a lot better.
Still trying to find the perfect set up but I'm getting there.

About the enduracers SP2 (full) download...It also states somewhere "better Physics", does that work with the RF mod..? Do I have to change something in the directory or is this not applicable..?

Also i've been trying to add some cars from Rfactorcentral but no success yet, just can't find out where to put the templates :ouch:

This is my 1st PC-(race)-game ever so it takes some time to get used to all these mods and where to put them ;)
Took me about 3hrs for that RF mod which acually can be done in about 5mins if you know what you're doing

No need to change anything, just download the mod and install it, you'll love it! Also set your degrees of rotation to 270 on your wheel and you'll see a big improvement!

It's all to do with knowing the directory structure. Personally, I created an empty rFactor folder in another place and install things to there, then examine and copy over to the main one. That way I know what I'm overwriting.

If you're installing full cars, their folders usually just go into the Vehicles and Sounds folders. Sometimes they do have some extra files to make it confusing, but as a rule you can just put whatever folders are installed right into the main rF folders. I prefer to do it one folder at a time just so I don't lose anything or replace something new with something older. Enduracers is a current mod and pretty well done so you shouldn't have any problem installing it unless you've got custom files you like to use.

If you're adding new car skins they should consist of the (identically named)graphics files and a *.veh file(and maybe a *.txt), all of which go into the same folder as the similar files from the same basic car model. It varies a little but Vehicles\ModName\CarType\Team is usually the folder you'll want. If there are no other .veh files you're in the wrong place. If you don't have a .veh file the game won't see the car and you'll have to create one yourself, which isn't too hard if you look at one that already exists.

To further clarify, most mods' vehicles come as:
\GameData (generally nothing but folders in this directory)
..\Vehicles(possibly a couple files added/changed here)
....\ModName(This will usually have the common files for the whole mod)
......\CarClass(GT1, GT2, etc. This might not be here for all mods)
........\CarType(files defining the vehicle model, i.e. Aston DBR9)
..........\Team(specifics for each car of the type, i.e. all 2007 FIA-GT BMS Scuderia Italia cars)

There will also be a folder in the GameData\Sounds folder for each car and some files in the rFactor\rfm folder to define the mod itself.

The graphics and .veh files will go into those \Team folders. Look at what is already there to see how to set it up. I'd hope most skins (I've only downloaded templates and made my own)would come ready to go, so you can just copy the folder they come in into the correct \CarType folder(thus creating a new \Team folder).

This got a little more complex than I had intended, I hope I didn't make things even more confusing. rF seems very complicated at first, but as you get used to it it does start to make sense. Just be patient and you will learn it.

There are lots of things you can modify but always back the files up first, you'll need the original versions of most files to go online. Backup your .plr file and then change the options in there to personalize your game much more than you can from within the game. That file won't generally cause any problems online, it's your personal game settings.

Hopefully someone knows what I might be getting wrong or more specifics about what you are trying to do that may help further. :)

Tnx..!!

I've also found a tutorial which I've printed out, will do the same with yours 👍

Tomorrow I've got the whole day to play around with it :)

So, random question.

A workmate gave me the "lite" (he said it's the free / trial) version of rFactor with the F1 1994 mod installed, just the installation directory from his hard disk copied to a DVD. It's running just fine but I can't pick any track but some random test track in the US, none of the F1 tracks. He told me I should be able to pick any track included in the mod. What am I doing wrong? :odd:

Check to see what is in your rFactor/Game Data/Locations folder.
Are there any folders in there with track names?

I was at an Autoshow in Toronto today and I paid $10 to try out a motion sim for a few minutes, and it was hooked up to Rfactor. I took a BMW F1 car around Mosport and it was freaking awesome, I actually had an adrenaline rush from playing it, I wish I could afford one(and find the space) for a motion sim, it was cool. I'm thinking of doing the next best thing and just getting Rfactor, where would I find it now a days? I know the modding community is huge.

You can just download it off the Internet or just get it from Amazon or a similar site. Newegg might have it as well.

I'll check tonight - could I just download the F1 1994 mod, unzip it and copy the track files into said folder if they're not there already?

The thing is, I'm not sure if that mod includes tracks.
Worth a try, I guess.

It was included on the DVD and around 900mb, so I guess he had the full version installed. Ah well, I'll check tonight and let you guys know - thanks. :)

I was just afraid that the trial version, despite his claims, wouldn't be enough to play the mod.

So, it only says Toban - I'll try moving the track files around.

Well uh, there are no track files contained in the installer. Downloading the newest version from the F1-S-R website. :grumpy:

If the only folder in there is Toban, that's the only track you have.
Try reinstalling the mod.

Finally up and running uncluding the Enduracers-mod, great game 👍
The sound of the Porsches are just porn for my ears :dopey:

Now only need to get rid of the too big deadzone in my gas (CSP) pedal and learning a huge amount of new tracks :sly:

It is but I can only "equip" an orange standard helmet. Would I have to start a Championship season? I chose a testing session instead, didn't drive at all, just checked if the tracks were there.

You will have the Senna helmet if you buy and drive his car. Otherwise you will have whoever car you bought/drive. I hope I answered your question.
