Guys I found this mod but can't get it from that site. Anyone has an alternate place to download from?

Also want to get the V8Factor mod but can't seem to find it anywhere...

Jav, here's a link for the original... http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=V8Factor Join that site and give a donation to Pete/Mombassa, its his site, and all the stuff is free unless noted otherwise. V8Factor Unleashed may be on there as well. :dopey: Randy

Hi I don't have GTR Evo, but as you probably know all SimBin games are powered by the Gmotor 2.0 the same of rFactor, the Shift Street Mod is nice, I'm using it in these days but it's still a WIP skins selection are a bit messy. for the FFB you can try Leo + Real Feel tutorial (link a couple of post above, maybe not all the cars will work properly you neeed to try) or modify the controller.ini for every car to make it handle the way you want, but this is more tricky because you need to know the right parametres.
The good thing of this mod is it's useing the same templates of NFS Shift, so you can import them. Currently I'm skinning a couple of Bugatti Veyron with racing and tuning decals, if a skinner is interested we could create a Veyron Challange or sort of :)

Thanks for the reply, I will try that. Does anyone know where to get this mod?

My mistake, it's a patch before to use it you need the original which should be this: http://www.rfactorcentral.com/series_detail.cfm?ID=V8 Supercars

there is also a "V8 Superstars Unleashed 2010 season" by them https://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=V8Factor UNleashed Season 2010
to use it you need to install their 0.90 base beta http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=V8Factor Unleashed Beta
I know, seems like Team ORSM don't like to update their own software in a single convenient download.

The V8 Supercars 1.0 is a .exe it should be a simple installation. Other mods could not have the .exe file, and you need to manually put folders in the corrispective rFactor folders, Vehicles in rFactor/Gamedata/Vehicles, Sounds in rFactor/Gamedata/Sounds and so on...

One of these days I'll give it a try it seems interesting, but the amount of mods available is simply insane, too many series to race with :)

No but it looks good, and if someone find the link I'll be interested.

Anyway If you like road cars I've just found this one http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Z0Q1BS61 It's an home made pack I've found in an Italian Lotus owners forum and it seems they tweaked the physics to be more realistic, I didn't try it yet but I will, I've heard good things about it, you probably find lot of Shift Street cars but with tweaked physics.. There are also a couple of new entries such as Lotus Alfa Maserati and a McLaren. Sound good, I'll try it one of these days.
this is the source : http://www.yellowelise.org/vforum/showthread.php?t=1835&page=3

double post sorry.

Got it! Damn those cars are slugs! Nice mod love it!

Just picked up rFactor DVD special edition 2008 today. I was shocked to find it tbh, it was hard to find on DVD anyway in UK shops and then today, popped into CEX and it was in amongst their vast collection of second hand PC games, for 50p! 50p! I couldnt beleive it!

Downloaded and installed FSOne 2009 V2, great F1 mod.

Thanks! 👍 I've downloaded a couple of Shift tracks and they are great in rFactor, I have Donnington, Road America and Brands Hatch I'm wondering if people converted something else, and somebody ever tried to convert tracks? Is that hard?

You have also spa, laguna seca and london, i highly, very highly recommend the GTR2 tracks from delphi82, and the two ones from v8 superstars, misano and mugello, also theres some ones from codemasters f1 2010, i dont tested this last ones, all this in f1 classic.

👍

ps. ohh, and the BMW Nurgburgring GP from BMW challenge, this is really impresive IMO

I got the game yesterday and tried to install the Shift street mod, but I kept getting the same error with all of the cars saying "error opening MAS file." I am new to downloading mods (and PC games in general), so could anyone possibly explain to me what this means, and what I'm doing wrong!
Thanks.

👍

btw: great mod!!

edit: errors loading mas files mean rFactor cant find the mas file, look for the file and try to put in one level up or down in directory structure.

ah well, at least I'll have BF3, Aliens : Colonial Marines and MW3 to look forward to before I get my grubby mitts on RF2 :)

I should also mention the likelihood of some mods, slated for rF2, to be released for the current version. One such mod was the DRM Revival, released over a month ago. Another one that might come out this year is the Historic GT v2, hopefully.

Cheers!

I have finally managed to get all of the cars in the shift street mod working by editing the .gen files of every car to change the mas file directory. I have now bought all of the cars, which were working fine, apart from the Ferraris and Volkswagens. Whenever I click on any of those models, I get an error which reads: 'Error loading GENERIC CARBON to memory.' Like I said, it is only the VWs and Ferraris affected, and if anyone knows what files to edit or what to change, could you please explain what needs to be done in order to get the remaining cars working properly? Thank you.

Could you provide the link to the "Shift" mod you are referring to? I am not familiar with it. Keep in mind, if you are installing a mod from a .zip file, you must place the files exactly as they are organized.

Also, I never replace rFactor files with mod files, I install files unique to the mod. My reason is to avoid replacing files with corrupted or outdated ones.

Well, Rfactor Central sure hasn't been helpful in answering my question regarding the SCE mod :indiff:

What question? Are you looking for templates? If so, http://stockcarevolution.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=190&Itemid=130

New news from ISI, this time regarding track progress :)
Scott Juliano
The last track is about 78% done now (I mean last track for the initial release--there will be plenty more to come after that)--it's basically missing vegetation, a few props, and grandstands/crowds. The amount of work that has gone into this is... I can't put it to words. Belgium is 14KM long. While this track is nowhere near that, the details and shear amount of stuff in the confines of the track--insanity :)

The reason for the lack of updates lately, really, is that we've been working on a lot of core features--can't really show that in a screenie. Plus, I really didn't want to show anything else until our new graphic features (Post FX, and some other cool new stuff), that will make us current, are in and looking as they should. That also won't be long I think. We had to put them on hold for a bit as other game related features took priority, but we'll be back to them shortly. So new media hopefully won't be too far behind. Besides, it will give me and Luc a chance to finish off this last track, which is really what we'd like to show next. So, it all works out :)

Someone above mentioned that we haven't said much about physics updates, etc. That's not really my area to be able to explain it properly; but, what I can honestly tell you is that I can no longer play rF1 after driving rF2 with the new tire model, new FFB, etc. I just can't do it. rF2 feels THAT good....

So, we haven't stopped working (just the opposite--working even more now than we were--probably why we've been so quiet :)), and we are making good progress, and new information isn't too far away, I think. So hang tight--we haven't forgotten about you all. I think 2011 is going to be a good year....
http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.p...k-Progress-Round-2?p=9363&viewfull=1#post9363

That last line is all but confirmation that rF2's going to be a 2011 release, surely?

My questions are:

1. Where do I put my paintscheme so it'll show up in the mod?

2. Where can I find the GNS templates (Pre-COT, not the current ones)

I also am wondering why even though I already have rFactor, This standalone mod seems to annoy the hell out of me with "Buy it/Unlock it" messages that suggest it uses a demo version of rFactor. Like I said, no one has answered me. Here's the post.

Just like any other mod, dive into the team directory and either replace an existing paint scheme or create a new .veh as appropriate. Not all mods take kindly to having new vehicles added though, so replace an existing paint scheme first (making a backup!).

I assume the mod was updated at some point with the COT car model? You're probably SOL, I can't think of any mod team that keeps templates for outdated mod versions.

Copy rfactor.exe from your main installation into the SCE installation should do the trick, I dunno exactly how the Trymedia activation works but I've read on a couple of sites that it checks the executable (meaning that copying your exe from your main install should work). Again, I'm not 100% on that but you should give it a shot anyway.
